Nicholaslee
HOW TO GET VGA Video OUT Working if you have the Nvidia 8600M GT Video Card ONLY. Using NVinstaller v.41 or NVinstaller v.52 (Select the Vanilla, and the 'M' or 'Go' Laptop options) Tested with Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.3 and 10.5.2 1.Download and install PlistEditPro from here 2.Find the NVinject.kext (and/or) NVinjectGo.kext in SYSTEM/LIBRARY/EXTENSIONS , Right click it, show package content. 3.Find Info.plist then right-click -> open with -> PlistEditPro, the value to edit is in IOKitPersonalities -> NVinject -> entriesToAdd -> NVCAP) changing the NVCAP value with this value of a 15" MacBook Pro 8600M GT 256Mb: 040101010e0001000e0000000000010b00000000 4.save and repair permission (you can do that with DISK UTILITY on Applications/Utilities) and reboot with -v -f options Flaviopiu and I got VGA out to work in EXTENDED mode great! (Both Internal and External). BUT, In MIRROR mode our internal laptop LCDs become black and we can only see the mouse pointer, while the external monitor displays properly. If anyone can help fix this problem or have any suggestions, please post. THANKS! This Guide was made by Flaviopiu. Thanks!

chemicalthunder
I tried it - all I get is a black screen. Tested with NV installer .52 edited plist in nvinject.kext there was no nvinjectgo.kext in the extension folders. I saved and repaired permissions. I have tested with other nvcap values as well. I'm not sure what I am doing wrong! Everything else works good. I just want to work on my 24" screen! My Rig consists of: Leo 10.5.3, video card 8600m GT, Inspiron 1520 Core2 Duo 2.2ghz. Mac_NB
Awesome - Inspiron 1520 with dual screen working finally! Thanks! :-) @hackbookpro - use an app like Plist edit pro to edit the Info.plist file - the string you are seeing is binary and you need an editor capable of reading/writing it going. hascosx
NVinjectGo 0.2.0 = for laptop driver for destop pc = nvinject only without " GO" or Efistudio for instal driver vga for destop pc = nvdarwin vga (rgb) depends on aplication or hardware for lcd monitor calibration= spyderpro you can setting "rgb color" management with hardware spyderpro and edit with : CS2/CS3/CS4 or pixelmator
Mars M
Guys - thanks so much!! Got this working on an Acer X233H 23" LCD using the 15" Macbook Pro NVCAP value placed inside NVkush.kext. My machine is a Vostro 1500 with 8600M GT 256M (0x0407, 0x10de). Anyone know how to switch off the laptop display and have it just use the VGA monitor? Not that I hate multiple screen support, I just might want to at some point... Thanks all!! PS: I pulled my own NVCAP value (from the ROM, using NVFLASH on windows, and then NVCAP Maker on OSX) and inserted the resultant NVCAP string into the injector - it also worked. hdas
Kind of a double post, but FYI, the latest drivers from EVGA for their GTX 285 for Mac (see here) works better than that in 10.5.7. With added nvcap values (me using NVinject.kext, see here for details on editing), I now have all three of internal display, hdmi and vga working (of course at most two at a time) along with full res and qe/ci on 9800M GS (internal displ is 1680x1050). The nvcap values that work for me are 04000000 00001E00 01000000 00000000 00000000i.e., BAAAAAAAHgABAAAAAAAABwAAAAA= , i.e., outputs 2 through 5 on channel 1 (11110 = 1E) and output 1 on channel 2 (00001 = 01). Note that the default nvcap values for me were 03 and 0C respectively (NvInstaller v.52).

Bladerunner23
I've just reinstalled 10.5.8 using Iatkos v7 on a Dell Vostro 1500. I used to be able to get dual screen and a 1200x800 resolution. Now I can't get higher than 1024x768, and there's not even a recognition of another display. I cannot recall for the life of me which driver I used the first time round in order to get this. I've tried searching all over the web and found nothing/. Can someone help? Thanks.
