oSxFr33k Posted November 3, 2011 Share Posted November 3, 2011 MacBook Pro 2.4GHZ Oct 2011 release Novbench =1242 Open GLViewer= scores around 238-239 Luxmark= 1254 Cinebench CPU = 5.60 Cinebench OpenGL = 43.43 Gekbench 64bit = 11,920 Asus G74SX see Signature for details Novbench =1242 Open GLViewer= scores around 630-700 range Luxmark= 2420 Cinebench CPU = 5.01 Cinebench OpenGL = 31.39 Geekbench 64bit = 10,520 My Novabench and Luxmark scores are more than double the newly MacBook Pro release. Is it because of the AMD 6770M graphics chip versus my GTX 560M chip? It does score a bit better on the Cinebench OpenGL and GeekBench but not by much. bbeepp Posted November 3, 2011 Share Posted November 3, 2011 I think it's because Geforce 500 series are not supported by OSX or because OSX powermanagement is locking your gfx card on lower clocks. You'll have to manually modify nvidia's powermanagement kext to unlock higher clocks. Find out how here: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=266036 edit: I've found a Cinebench 11.5 benchmark where your laptop scored 37fps on Win7 so I think it works ok 'cause Win7 scores are always 10-20% higher than on OSX. I actually disabled it because it seems to become a problem at times causing the apple spin wheel of death. Lol. I had a quick look over at the link you provided and the last person to post on the thread has the same card as mine but my Open GL scores are almost double his scores. So maybe I should keep my AGPM disabled? http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...t&p=1765253 Open CL scores are slightly lower on Oceanwave when compared to others, so maybe modifying the AGPM in this case would bring those scores higher or not? So maybe I should keep my AGPM disabled? ... I think you should try modyfing AGPM to conserve battery power and longevity of the gpu as it is continously working at full speed.
