In Lion the only way to activate the DP port of ATI 5770 or 5850 card is patching Hoolock with valid parameter from Vervet or Uakari. But at most I can get 2 ports (DP & HDMI) working at the same time with HDMI audio now. I guess Apple had disabled non-Apple ATI 5770/5850 cards' DP port on purpose, or this is a big bug for ATI kexts of SL 10.6.8 and Lion GM. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Boombeng Posted July 27, 2011 Share Posted July 27, 2011 Hi tmongkol, Finally I got HDMI audio working. So, ATI HDMI audio on notebook works. The legacy kext which responsible in injecting my HD4570's device ID is causing the problem. If failed, then try patch Hoolock with valid Vervet. According to my experience and theory of patching applied in the past, these should be working for ATI 5870. Do it like this: radeon_bios_decode < ati_9442_1002.rom.bin just drop the files into Terminal's window in the required order and don't forget the "<".
