NO that was Extra/Extensions Not 'AND'...Your audio should be working without anything else.. I think you should read Guide carefully before rushing off elsewhere. USB wireless IF it is a proven compatible type will probably require some research unless someone currently posting here has/had the same Brand & model as yours.. Signature added. Thanks for letting me know, I'm new to this - sorry! The audio isn't working at all. It wont play videos or music. I press play an it just stays in the same spot. Should I delete it the kexts from either Extra or Extensions so that they only exist in one of those folders? Will that make a difference? I have read the guide over and over and I'm just getting more and more frustrated as every day goes by. The USB wireless thing isn't a big deal, I'm not worried about that too much at the moment. I'm moreso worried about getting the audio/video working and once I can get that going then I'll hopefully be able to get the wireless working. I'm starting to think that a hackintosh isn't worth the time and frustration
andvikt
Hipost here that DSDT you extract from "windows"? We take a look. Fabio Thank you very much. Here is my dsdt: DSDT_920_P6TSE.zip The reason is..You need a minimum of 5 valid messages to download files... Fabio How can I have this 5 "valid" messages? I have more and they are not a kind of "flood", but I am not able to download files.

Yes you should remove the audio kext you installed. I'm not sure what damage installing it may of done ie if it changed or replaced one that it should not of. Compared to what had to be done a few years back this is easy. Unfortunately most of the complication's you've had have been self inflicted.. In iFabio's post #4 it specifies "A legacy only for P6T SE with ALC1200.kext and OrangeIconFix.kext all-in-one". The kekt you installed was also an ALC1200kext (same by name maybe !!) If audio is not working you will see at bottom of post #1 'dgobe' a download for 10.6.4 audio patch & install directions Although I'm not 100% sure, this should also suit your board. As I tried to say before read carefully. I'm not trying to be rude here but I'm just repeating what is already in dgobe's Guide I also see you have 6GB of Ram so you possibly will need AppleVIATTA.kext in Extra/Extensions as well. Good Luck

No idea about the number of post... for the DSDT.. what you posted is the "Virgin" there s no fix inside... The proble is the new BIOS... is related to OperationRegion (RAMW, SystemMemory, and this affect all new Asus X58 board... I fix this problem time ago. You simply mod the DSDT or download an already patched DSDT... Fabio

Is it possible to make coaxial spdif work? I can only connect to my yamaha with coaxial spdif... And is it possible to make 5.1 work? I see that only stereo works with spdif. After Effects can also use only 2 gigs... AppleVIATTA.kext for more than 2GB Ram support (should work with your SE board). In 'Extra' you should have installed from dgobe's installer something like this, 'bin' 'Extensions' & 'Themes' folder's, com.apple.plist, smbios.plist, Extensionsmkekt, & boot help.txt. Add your DSDT in here, It should also create Extensions.bak.mkext. If you don't have these something has gone wrong when you installed dgobe's installer.pkg Make sure it's latest version installed from desktop. In the Extra/'Extensions' folder you will need to have FakeSMC.kext P6T-SE.kext from iFabio post #4 "ONLY for P6T SE" and AppleVIATTA.kext. Not the ones installer put there by the installer. In System/Library/Extensions you need AppleHDA.kext (from same post). Make sure you clear & rebuild caches. Hope this clears things up for you. It is not sleeping, fans are working and it can't wake up. Try also change the bootloader... install this... before delete your smbios.plist (yes we don't need anymore ) Chameleon 2 RC5 revision (trunk 352) for the sleep... fire up your terminal and digit this... sudo pmset -a hibernatemode 0 restart and see at next start if solved Fabio

Thanks Fabio & dgobie for all your input into making this work with our Mobo. Works spot on here, have i7 & Kingston 2G DDR3 2138MHz Ram recognised correctly I lost proper shutdown (H/D) but I think that was something in drhurt's version of chameleon. No worries though will give easyBCD a go later to see if that fix it..

stil86
It's been a while but I thought pkg v1.15 installed the PS/2 kexts. If not, just double-click the initrd.img on the installation ISO and it will mount the image. You'll see an icon on your Desktop for the volume. Go to that and then to Extra/Extensions(/Volumes/initrd/Extra/Extensions) and you should see 2 kexts with PS2 in the name. Move those to /Extra/Extensions and rebuild your kext cache(or use kexthelper). So Mr Fabio.... Looks like we have everything in the boot file so all that is required in smbios.plist is the serial number. How do you think we should handle the speedstep setup? Leave in the DSDT Use normal DSDT and also SSDT tables How about CPUx vs P00x? I know you mentioned you had issues with CPUx. I'm going to do some testing this weekend. Let's get a consensus and I'll put together a new installer package. I try the two pkg that you tell me but nothing ... Do you all use usb periphral ? I don't want to leave my mouse ... Please help me :-)

iBdb
the problem is.. i'm still configuring a system, so atm i don't have anything. i'm looking to built something with either a 960 or 970 i7 and 12gig ram to do some heavy image editing. DSDT here is Mobo & processor specific. If you do use P6T Deluxe V1/V2 or P6T-SE with a 960 or 970 and there is no DSDT listed in iFabio's post #4 you would have to extract your DSDT post it here with a nice request to iFabio for him to patch it for you. Otherwise select a model that already has patched DSDT. Hope this answers your question. EDIT: stil86 What exactly did you try, ie the installer pkg or selecting & installing appropriate kexts & rebuild.
parakiet
don't want to spoil this topic but the most fail-proof way is to go out and buy a 980x on P6T Deluxe V1/V2 or P6T-SE if i want a working 6 core?
