marliwahoo
Started from scratch. Changed bios to 2504. Did my own dsdt patching with fixes from 314Ter's dsdt. Changed back to bios 2904 using the patched dsdt. Sleep, shutdown and restart work all with bios 2901 !! I don't know if speedstep works. I need to know where to get the application cpu-i so I can check. The only kexts used: fakesmc IOAHCIBlockStorageInjector JMicronATA OpenHaltRestart PlatformUUID VoodooHDA Here is my "fixed" dsdt.aml for my P5W. hockeyman96
Finally i make working patches to DSDT... Tested on 10.5.8... No more need to delete AppleHPET or using disabler to get working all USB ports or FW. All USB ports work always in High Speed, also FireWire working, sleep, shutdown, restart working, waking from USB keyboard/mouse working, TM Fix implemented, Vanilla SpeedSteep working on 65nm CPUs. Source and compiled DSDT.aml files can get here: http://forum.osx86.org.pl/topics27/fixy-ds...susow-vt857.htm or complete pack here: http://rapidshare.com/files/283233093/P5W_...e_DSDT_2504.zip DSDT compiled on BIOS base version 2504, because later version don't have SSDT Tables, and cannot get working Vanilla SpeedSteep. Enjoy... I have a P5W that I have been using with Kalyway's 10.5.2. I recently upgraded to 10.5.7 and everything works except for shutdown and firewire. When I shutdown, the fans are still spinning and my mobo is still powered. I have to hold the power button to turn it off. I downloaded these files but how do I use them? Will they help solve my shutdown/firewire problems?

hockeyman96
After upgrading to 10.5.7, I was able to get everything working. Shutdown, audio, lan, etc. My only problem now is that it takes a long time to start up and hangs on a blue screen for a few minutes before the desktop shows. Is there a fix for this? Purtroppo hanno molte limitazioni ma funzionare funzionano (tipo non è possibile scende oltre un certo valore di vcore e quindi conviene lasciarlo in automatico). jricks92
10.6.2 works great! you just have to remember to uninstall the SleepEnabler.kext from 10.6.1 otherwise you'll get a KP at boot. then if needed, install the SleepEnabler.kext for 10.6.2. you can download it from netkas.org
Zerojojo
Hi Everyone, 10.6.2. worked great for me, but I have another problem concerning my USB ports (not just since 10.6.2). They all do work, but there seems to be something wrong with the power supply or data handling. I was trying to use a Creative Xmod, but it made popping noises during playback, especially so when CPU load was up. The Xmod works fine on Windows Vista (same machine) and my iBook, so it must be OS X's handling of my USB ports. Also I notice some slight jumps of my mouse cursor every now and then which isn't too annoying, but shows there's something wrong. I tried pretty much everything, deleted AppleHPET, played around with the BIOS settings, reinstalled OS X, tried various kexts. Nothing worked so far. What's also quite weird is that the popping noise of my Xmod is worse when I plug it in the back of my machine instead of the USB hub of my monitor. Has anyone had the same problem or can point me into some direction? I'd really appreciate your input. Regards Johannes

314TeR
Hi guys! In this link: http://forum.osx86.org.pl/topics4/mac-os-x...tosh-vt1132.htm You will find new versions of the DSDT for the P5W with source code, based on 3001 bios I think I managed to correct all the problems that I found in DSDT. DSDT are prepared in two different versions, one for the Core and the other for the Quad. Confirmed the correct operation of Mac OS X 10.6.2 and 10.5.8: * Sleep / reboot / shutdown - works correctly. * All USB ports are working correctly. * FireWire is working properly. * Your computer can wake up from sleep state via a USB keyboard or mouse. * SpeedSteep working with CST states - is CPU independent, only need to place correct version (Core/Quad) - power management works exactly like a Mac, and the temperatures of the CPU reached in Mac OS X are identical to those of Windows. * No errors or other disturbing messages on startup. * Correct Time Machine, and Bonjour, for both LAN cards I think it is safe to update your system by SU. I prepared also: The complete installation package for the P5W DH Deluxe for the Snow Leopard, which contains PC_EFI 10.5, kexts, smbios.plist, etc.: http://rapidshare.com/files/312905109/P5W_...Beta_1.0.2_.zip Boot-132 for Snow Leopard http://rapidshare.com/files/312905852/Boot..._Beta_1.0.2.zip The BootCD contains installer package. Unfortunately, the installation package does not include the audio kext. Still working on them. If someone can give me a link to a working AppleHDA for ALC882 or better LegacyAppleHDA, I would be very grateful. This installer and the BootCD, is the first version that I decided to make public and may contain errors. I hope that with your help, work on them will end soon. The new version, news, etc., will publish in this thread: http://forum.osx86.org.pl/topics4/mac-os-x...tosh-vt1132.htm In this thread you will find also pictures showing how to properly set the BIOS. Zerojojo
Hi, can anyone upload the DSDT file someplace else? Rapidshare says I need a premium account in order to access the file. And what exactly does the installer do? I have Chameleon RC3, a DSDT file created by MacLoader SL_0.4 and various kexts. Is there any improvement to be expected over this setup? Thanks a lot! Ritz Carltn
Good Job! I think you almost reached Real Mac System except ALC882 and Graphic Card. In case of Graphic Card, yea, it's depend on user's environment. How about insert ALC882 for next step? As you know, 10.6.2, it is some different AHCI, as I know. I still have some weird symptom of dsdt in 10.6.2. But, I'm not sure. 314TeR
@Zerojojo, In the post above, I attached two zip archives, first with DSDT and with all the necessary content of /Extra, and the second with BootCD and installer. The installer loaded in the indicated partition only PC_EFI and content of /Extra. No any part of the system is modified. What is the advantage of this solution? Just want to create an elegant and complete solution tailored exclusively for the ASUS P5W DH Deluxe.

Ritz Carltn
314TeR, I added GFX-String of nVidia 8600 GTS 256MB in DSDT.aml as followings. http://ul.to/do6c3s It works in 10.5.8 with 8600 GTS 256 MB.
