Dr. Hurt
The voodoo team has finally released the Chameleon 2 RC3 boot loader which is the first boot loader to have proper Snow Leopard support, including proper extensions loading. This means no more .mkext needed (for some 32-bit users) and fewer extensions-related problems, leading to a smoother and easier OS X Snow Leopard install. Many thanks to the Voodoo team and everyone else who was involved in making this possible. This is an unofficial installation package. PLEASE don't report any problems related to the installation package to Voodoo team. The Voodoo team is responsible for the boot loader itself only. Use at your own risk. BiTRiP
I installed this, and now my network connection is deceased? Any ideas? Same problem here! No solution found yet....back to EFI10.2 for now. EDIT: I fixed my network! It seems the -x32 kernel flag in my com.apple.Boot.plist didn't work anymore so it booted up in 64bit and then my network doesn't work. I changed the flag to arch=i386 and now it boots in 32bit with fully network. BiTRiP
XLR
It gave me "still waiting for root device", but Chameleon-2.0-r431 works great with PCEFI 10.1 in Snow.
Freaky Chokra
I'll be quite honest about it. Been quite old in the scene but only on the install and trial side. But I just completed a Snow Leopard installation and a guide too. But had used the Chameleon-2.0-RC2-r640.pkg Have a fully working Snow Leopard Install with major apps running in 64-bit mode and also 32 bit ones like Himmelbar, iStat Menu, Blitz, Microsoft Office 2008, iWork, iLife 09. QE/CI enabled. using EFI strings and NVEnabler.kext in /Extra/Extensions. Will try this one out soon. Regards, Freaky Chokra PS: My respect to Kabyl for his extensive work in Tiger and Leopard. DocShadow
Installer works as intended. Thanks for taking the time to put it together. I've been using -x32 flag in my com.apple.boot.plist so I got a KP on boot due to AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement as this flag is not recognized in RC3 and my NullCPUPowerManagement was 32 bit. Edkroket
Thanks for the installer. I've still have trouble with my videocard (Gainward 9800GT 512) When I start with "GraphicsEnabler=Yes" my video is just fine. When I use an EFI-string I get a black screen. Is there a way to boot always with this bootoption "GraphicsEnabler=Yes"??? I've tried so many things to get it work but none of them worked as it should! Ed p.s. I have a vanilla SL install via USB-boot-Install Also my signature is from another machine

Thanks Here are my steps High Level Follow the steps from this Thread: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=76404 1. I Created the Raid Slices from scratch ( Assuming you have a working Snow Leopard) 2. Install Snow leopard onto your Raid Volume from the Osinstall.mpkg from the 10.6 Image or DVD.. Install process does automatically install additional files in the helper partitions of each slices "Boot OSX" , you will notice this is different than Leopard Before trying to boot make sure your have patched the S/L/E with the necessary kexts. and manually copied the boot sectors etc total 640 0 drwxr-xr-x 10 root wheel 408 Sep 7 15:34 . 0 drwxrwxrwt@ 9 root admin 306 Sep 8 18:14 .. 0 drwx------ 3 root wheel 102 Sep 7 10:43 .Spotlight-V100 0 d-wx-wx-wt@ 3 root wheel 102 Sep 8 18:14 .Trashes 0 drwx------ 3 root wheel 102 Sep 8 18:14 .fseventsd 0 drwxr-xr-x@ 6 root wheel 204 Sep 7 14:18 Extra 0 drwxr-xr-x 3 root wheel 102 Sep 7 11:53 System 608 -rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 309344 Sep 7 14:03 boot 0 drwxr-xr-x 5 root wheel 170 Sep 7 15:34 com.apple.boot.R 32 -rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 15818 Sep 7 14:18 dsdt.aml 3. What you see above is the Final set of files folders each of the slices will have. 4. Extra/Extensions contain the needed kexts 5. It also contains com.apple.Boot.plist & dsdt.aml, i have placed this in two places not sure which one is used 6. Note the boot file also present in each slice make sure you build the mkext cache with the automatic method by "touch /System/Library/Extensions" as it updates the caches in all the necessary places (you can see it in /var/log/system.log) see mine / locked; waiting for lock.
