banini_jeque 6 Posted July 8, 2005 Share this comment Haha, if you wanna know desperate I actually spent $120 to build a pentium 2 so I could run rhapsody on it, and I still don't have a compatible video or network card, so I only get black and white video, and can't go online. evolver56k 1 Posted July 8, 2005 Share this comment you have to find one old ass s3 video card... i think its like a GX or something like that... i had one it worked with rhapsody pretty well at 1024x768@16bpp.

Mr. Bond 4 Posted July 15, 2005 Share this comment Actually, Rhapsody x86 is an old preview version of what OS X looked like while it was in development, and before Mac osx server. Long story short, they made a x86 version of it, and this is the only officially known x86 version of an Apple OS that has been available publicly, despite the many public musings that Apple has kept an x86 version of Os X in their labs up to date with the current PPC version. So no, your still stuck with the mactel base Surge
xSuRgEx 0 Posted July 15, 2005 Share this comment so does Rhapsody x86 work. iam not expecting a bug free os. id just like to see the mac interface on my intel box. iam guessing Virtual pc will run it?

flying_spacemonkey 0 Posted July 16, 2005 Share this comment Hey, you guys do know FlyakiteOSX, do you? Its something for lazy Windows-Users, to style almost all of their desktop stuff like in Mac OSX..preferences even say Mac OS X 10.4 or so.... So, you have to notice that its slow though... But you can check it out here http://osx.portraitofakite.com/

xSuRgEx 0 Posted July 16, 2005 Share this comment message to all others that might want to download this POS it f**ks up your system, the boot screen does not change. if you right click your start bar and chouse to hide it automaticaly you wont be able to change this setting unless you uninstall flyakyte. it looked nice on the website but i woudl rather have a real mac anyday either intel or ppc mac. flying_spacemonkey 0 Posted July 16, 2005 Share this comment well it maybe does, for me it just got slower, but you can always uninstall. It did change my bootscreen though, but it was static, so not animated. I'd rather have a real Mac too, so that's why I'm waiting for this Project to take off, but in the meanwhile it could be nice. Whats the link to the Longhorn one?

evolver56k 1 Posted July 17, 2005 Share this comment rhapsody dr2 for intel is a pretty complete os... it was the last developer preview before mac os x server 1.0 came out for ppc and they canned the x86 version. if you search some old mac news articles from 1998 you can get the gist for what rhapsody was supposed to be as a final product. I have the intel disc and disks if anyone wants to play around with it... pm me if you want to aquire it... right now my dsl is down and i have dialup but i can get it around when i get my dsl back in a week or two. a very excelent website to check out for rhapsody information is www.shawcomputing.net. thats about all.
