New Mac Pro EFI and SMC Firmware Released

Anybody with a EFI equipped non-Apple MoBo ("hackint0sh" .. ) willing to flash his EFI with this ?

While I wont make a value judgement on the silliness of making the mach_kernel run on standard PC hardware, I will say that flashing Apple's EFI onto an EFI-capable board will ruin that board, possibly permanently. That's pretty obvious.

An Aside: I do not believe there is any EFI operating motherboard currently capable of running OS X, the only boards capable of running OS X that are EFI compatible are the Intel boards, and they do not use the EFI framework (at least, not in any way detectable or usable by us). Also, there is no generic EFI flash utility, and, for obvious reasons, the Apple flash utility will not work on a "hackintosh".

Well Flashing Apple EFI onto a board has benn done before but the drivers map to the wrong address on most of the components, so it works but doesnt work. Also the Intel Mobos use a efi framework but they also include a CSM so we are locked out of using that framework. But all the drivers for our onboard devices are in efi , so i wouldnt say it is impossible to run OS X. We lareadyhave the complete specification on our boards we just need to find a way to access it which is what we are working on at the moment
