The MacBooks have begun shipping (for some people), inciting shouts of joy and triumph from (a few) new and old Mac users alike (in a couple of lucky places around the globe).

While many soon-to-be-MacBook-owners have had their notebooks delayed by a week or so, a few people – such as Jason O’Grady – are busy freeing their new toys from their origami packaging and taking them for a drive.

If you aren’t getting a MacBook, or if the one you’ve ordered is delayed, check out O’Grady’s pictures of the MacBook’s packaging in the meantime. Apple does a lot of things right, and one of those is packaging.

Are you getting a MacBook? When you do, tell us what you think!

What is a package Porn?

My English is not so good and Babelfish translate it as porno package :(

"Package Porn" is what happens with Apple packaging when people publish pictures of every step of the unpacking process.

Basically, just a bunch of pictures for you to drool over.

Don't forget Nerd Porn - when they disassemble the actual product as well.

And hard'CORE' porn - where you see the processor on its back with its pins in the air. Oh, wait a minute, the 775 doesn't have pins. Well you get the idea

The macbook is nice, but it's not as nice as the hype makes it out as. Plain gray... I prefer Sony's Vaio styling. Then again, the macbook has the advantage of being what OSx86 was built for...

My ship date is March 4th. I was upgraded to a MacBook 2.0 Ghz from 1.83. Coming from the world of DOS/Windows to the Mac world is going to be an adventure and more than a bit of fun.

Although I have some Mac experience, I decided to go full out to learn everything I could - I also happen to work in an evironment where Mac support is needed, so this will help me in my job as well.

I am waiting for the new iPod to ship before completely joining the "cult of Mac."

Then, I shall be one with the Woz. :)

Thats good news about the battery life - especially considering the lack of mention of it at macworld. I'm guessing that was one of the things they were working on over the last couple of months.

I agree, it looks great for what I would need it for. Super thin, 5.5lb/2.2kg, and good battery life...and runs OS X. :)
