iPod Shuffle: Now in Colors!

Colonel

Today, Apple released four new colors to the iPod shuffle collection. These colors include pink, green, blue, as well as a new orange version. The new shuffles are identical to their silver counterpart, and also sell for the same price. The folks over at AppleInsider have some high quality pictures of the new orange iPod Shuffle. The iPod goes for the standard $79, and contains 1GB of music storage space (About 240 songs).

How do they do it? Genius! Wait... what if they made the next generation of video iPods in color? Nah, crazy talk!

The orange one seems a little too dark. You have candy blue, candy green, candy pink, and now: rusty orange. It could stand to be a little lighter in shade.

even though i have an ipod i think it would be nice to have one of these to use when i work out, if i ever get motivated to do it i hope the new shuffle would do it.

I watch The L Word on my my video ipod when working out. lol

I love my shuffle, its great for working out cause it weighs nothing, but somehow i get the impression that they look cheaply made in colors. maybe they just look too plastic in the pics or what, but they just look kinda like they might fall apart on you. (kinda like the first gen shuffle). grated they are strong, i've dropped mine a few times, but they just dont look good in color to me.

edit// also, why no black or why no new orange nano?

How do you not manage to pass out? I mean, the reduced bloodflow to the brain...muscles. :P

I agree the orange is a touch too dark. But in hindsight, I would've snapped up this colour in an instant, if offered when the Mini's were still around. The blue also appears to be darker as well.

Definetly handy for working out, though. I'm thinking about grabbing one once I start running around the spring again. Small, and cheap.

To be honest, burnt orange is an off color in my opinion although I do think it fits well on an iPod. I'm just curious (as someone else was) as to why there is still no black one and if the nanos will begin implementing the same colors.

I got an orange shuffle this past weekend, it's my first mp3 player so I can't compare it to much but its wonderfully light and feels very solid. The orange is more like a metalic orange than a glossy type orange, it looks great.
