Hi. I'm Jason.

Swad

Like I mentioned last week, I thought it’d be a good time to formally introduce myself to our community. You’ve known me as “Mashugly” and “Mash” for well over a year now, and now that a lot of you are my good friends, I wanted to let you know a little more about me.

My name is Jason Swadley and I’ll be graduating from Drury University in May with dual degrees in Political Science and Speech Communication. Feel free to call me by my full name, but all my friends call me “Swad.” I live in Springfield, Missouri, a fairly large city in the middle of the U.S. and in one of the most beautiful parts of the country (the Ozarks). Like I mentioned in our introduction thread, I have a wide variety of interests – I love music, the outdoors, baseball, technology, philosophy, etc.

The name “Mashugly” came from our high school production of the play M*A*S*H. My character’s nickname was “Ugly” – hence Mashugly. The character’s real name in the play was John Black, which was the pseudonym I’ve been using for the site until now.

So, that’s me – I’m not really anyone terribly special, just someone who realized that it’d be great to have a place to talk about Intel and x86 based Macs. I hope this site has brought you as much fun as it has me.

Here’s to many more years for the work Mashugly started.

- Swad

I'm a 14 years old boy that lives in a little town near Como, in Italy. I do computer programming since I was 6.

Hi Sherry Haibara,

Not only you have done so much programming starting from such a tender age, but your English is quite good as well.

With othere words, compared to Italian boys of your age, you are an absolute genius.

Apple Freak-

I'm hoping to write a complete history of the OSx86 beginnings over this Christmas break.

Heh, don't look but I already have a timeline of major site events and a short early history (written in August 2005 so it must have events we forgot by now :()

Well Jason, it's nice to emeet you, I think. I'm Paul, just so you know. And yes, this place has been fun, as well as the IRC channel also since all this began. I'd like to think I'll get some mention in that OSx86 history (ok, toot my horn for me will ya along with bender12's) and I'll be on the lookout for it. Can't think of a better person to write it...

Have fun, always... and again, congratulations with the site and good luck with your schooling as well.

Ok now...

I think its time for telling identities! ^_^

My name is Johannes, I'm a 16 year old guy from Germany.

I live in a small village and its really quiet here...

Last year I bought a G4 Cube and heard about OSx86 at a Podcast, so I decided to look at the project and give it a try...

With the time more and more ppl had problems with installing kexts, so I made an installer for Callisto (yes this was my first one)!

I didnt publish it because Omni said we shouldnt up the files anywhere. The first installer what the community saw was the Borisbadenov one!

And maybe you know the rest by yourself because I dont want to write anymore ;)

Ah, and changed my nickname too: "~Neo", as you can see!

I wanted "Neo" but there is already an user with this!

Nice to meet you, Swad and the others :dev:

Wow, I can't believe that a LOT of people here are so young!

Yea, there seem to be a lot of fourteen-year-olds here, but I'm probably one of the youngest :D (I have met a few 12 year olds)

I already told you guys about me, but not about me and computers and stuff... I started out on a Windows 95 PC at my house when I was two. I used to play lots of games and stuff. When I turned 6, and started to learn how to read, I gained interest in the internet, and when I turned 7, all I did on the computer was look around at the settings and download apps. Also, when I was 7 I read a book entitled "101 Things to do With Your Computer". None of the stuff seemed interesting to me except "create a website". After I read that, I bought an HTML book and since my uncle owns a webhost, he hosted my site for me (The webdesign sucks really badly... http://fusioncards.com/) and tought me how to FTP using Command Prompt. Also around this time, I started using Macs at school (OS 8.6), and then OS9. Once I was 10, we moved and I got my own Windows XP Home SP1 Dell computer (The bottom of the line...). I started joining forums about how to make your PC look like a Mac, and then created my own, WinX, which later turned into Aqua-Gero. After that I got very interested in Macs and started reading Macworld, which one day had an article about iPodLinux. I installed it onto my iPod, thought it was awesome, and learned all I could about it. Then I made the iPod Application Manager when I was 11, and then I got a MacBook and joined here and hacked my PC into a Hackintosh... God that was long and boring... Congrats if you read it... :D:unsure:

haha, nice to know your name. Not that it really matters, i'll still probably call you by mash.

ok, my name is Peter. I live in Denver, Colorado and I am 17. i'm probably the only one i know in my town that uses this website. i only ever got into macs when my dad decided that he loved them and went on a spree of buying everyone in the house a mac. i was the only one left without one because i am the only one who like to play games on the computer. shortly after i got into bit torrenting stuff and messing with linux and all that fun/ hellish stuff, i found out about this site. that was probably about the time i had finished building my computer and had managed to fry 3 mobo's on it (bad PSU). my first OS X was the 10.4.4 + 10.4.5 patch disk (cannot remember the maker). I loved using Mac OS X on my PC, so I slowly became obsessed with macs. Before this happened I had never really liked or disliked macs. I had used them both at my school and at my house, but i only really ever did anything to help my mom figure out how to print something or help my dad network the macs...

I lost my train of thought...

damn.

well anyway, everyone always asks me about my nickname Sadiekiller, so I will tell. I have a dog named Sadie. She is a dalmation and is very moody and psyco. well anyway, one day she was sleeping in my room and a spider crawled accross her head and she freaked out. she procedded to attack the spider and then eat it. she was Sadie the Killer, but I decided that was too long and went with Sadiekiller.

also, I know there are tons o' grammar mistakes, but I'm highly lazy and don't really care if you can read some parts because its boring.

Well, I guess I have to do this too,

My name is Suzuka (not really), I'm 14, I first got interested in Mac when my sister got an iMac a year or so ago, I began to try OS X86, soon after, my computer broke (Not becasue of OS X86, it was just old) and a few months later I got my first mac (17" Intel iMac and at the end of the year, my school is giving me one of their old iBooks G3). I used to own a series of unsuccessful forums till I just qui.

But enough of my computer life, on to real life

I'm in high school (obiously)

I hope to be an engineer

If it weren't for Camino/OS X's spell check, I'd spell no words right

My turn...

I'm 13 in Canada. I started adoring macs since I was in elementary school (JK - 6). We only had those colourful macs until out school got 5 new emacs...I practically begged my computer teacher to use them. Well, he liked me cause i was tech savy. So thats my story story of how my mac addiction started.

When i was around the age of 11, I discovered PearPC... Boy was I happy to have Mac OS X run on my PC...it was like GOLD...even though it was slow as hell... I was practically wishing everyday for Mac OS X to come out for PC...then it happened...the announcement of Mac OS X on Intel...

Then I joined this forum in July 5, 2005. I remember win2osx.net, *someurl*.classicbeta, and maxxuss' site and all the mirrors. I couldnt run OSX86 at first because I had and still have a Dell Dimension 4500 i bought back in '01 that only had sse2. Then came all the hacks and Maxxuss sse3 emulator and TPM hack and stuff...

Now running my Dell Hackintosh Dimension 4500 with Semthex Beta9 Kernel...;)

Wow I suddenly feel very very old....

I am Michael and I am 35. My main thing is music which brought me to OS X. I was getting very fed-up with all the PC DAW apps not doing what I really wanted or how I liked. Now I am busy learning Logic to see if it will be my saving grace. As for OS X, I like it a lot more than windows. Of course anything new and shinny is fun for the first few weeks
