Adium 1.0 Released

just updated to this version ...... and it really awesome......... everythng is perfect

 

an ofcourse im still waiting for the voice support on gtalk

Am liking it very much. (and hopefully not as leaky as the last one, but we'll see about that)

i love the transparency

Adium is one of the most cooolest apps on OS X.

If like me, you have been getting the betas, there's not really much new - apart from the lack of bugs now.

As soon as libgaim supports it, Adium will.

So the devil called me up this morning and was wondering if I could recommend a company to him to install some heating units. Turns out hell had frozen over.

I have been a real mac user for just a bit with my ibok and I just got Adium (.89 version) and it is nice. Uninstalled that MSN messenger and I love this program. It reminds me of trillian back in the day. Now trillian, is bloated and runs like ass. I love it that I don't have to use Microsoft's chat program.

Adium is one of those Mac apps that you'd wish to be available on every OS.

If Kopete development goes the way it's been going, expect to see something Adium-like coming to a Windows near you. Not the same thing, mind you, but close enough....

Wow. This app has finally reached the vicinity of a certain... boshwachêz quality to it in a beautifully simplistic manner. It's undergone a metamorphosis that can only be paralleled to... well... quite frankly... the gradual evolution of society and communication itself. It's the embodiment of unity in a world of various and confusing messaging clients that only serve to divide us more than help us. Thanks to Adium, a father doing work in Tokyo using AIM can hear a crescendo of laughter over a microphone from his newborn child, who is using Yahoo.

Downloading at work now (dial up at home). I will update tonight but I love this app.

Looks great, they've really done a great job, once again. And, there are problems with every new release of everything.

I agree with Paquito. Adium is my favorite Instant Messaging client for *any* platform. I wish they had for all platforms.

 

I had some issues when I upgraded to 1.0 because I had made some changes to some of my contacts in MSN. I kept getting "buddy list synchronization" errors.

 

How I resolved: I removed /Users/UserName/Library/Application Support/Adium 2.0 folder. After that I just had to re-register my MSN account.

Ah it's working for me now. Love this app!

Ok I did an Adium update on my friends mac and on mine I installed 1.0 from scratch. On mine I got asked to download and install 'Growl' and my friends one didn't.

 

I guess it's not too important but did anyone notice this? Also is Growl a new future? Looks cool but which the messages that appear were smaller.

Adium to me looks good on paper but doesnt work in reality on ANY of my real macs or hackintoshes. I have seen that damn adium crash reporter so many times i could shoot that duck!

 

So much so that I have to run it under rosetta to get it to work.

 

Hopefully this is better and can run natively without crashing

For me Adium works great. Never crashes.

Its my REAL mac so I'm a bit confused with why.

 

Its a brand new mac mini running 10.4.8 and i have to run it under rosetta to stop it from crashing

You know one thing I really wish they had is a better way of telling you that you have mail. Even Microsoft Messenger for Mac's Fading notification is better than what Adium has to offer.

 

I rely on MS messenger to tell me if I have any messages in Hotmail. So this is impornat to me.
