thespottedelf
the way i see it is that they are most likely better then ones fresh off the line... they shouldn't have any problems with them because they have just been serviced by apple... plus i've heard of people receiving more ram then it said on the site Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/99477-mbp-refurbished/#findComment-710001 Share on other sites
dunklerengel
But they actually have scratches or some issue that shows some use on it? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/99477-mbp-refurbished/#findComment-710019 Share on other sites

pmudesign
The big difference between buying new or refurbished IMHO is the level of service you get from Apple. I bought a recertified iMac a couple years ago from Apple.com and had a problem with it immediate on delivery (the CD drive didn't work). I called Apple and spent about a half an hour on the phone with their techs who verified the problem with me (all very professional folks I might add). They agreed that I should be sent a replacement machine. Problem was, that since I had bought a recertified machine I could only get a recertified machine to replace it (sounds fair enough) but the back order for recertified iMacs at the point was 6-8 weeks! Ouch! I went back and forth with them a couple times on this, mostly because I wasn't particularly happy that my credit card had been billed and they were proposing that I go without a working machine for another 2 months! A couple days later a replacement machine "miraculously" became available and so did my little episode. But in the future I'll probably just buy new...
