spanakorizo
i had this in the past from copying my external 10GB OSX partition to an IDE disk with carbon copy the IDE disk would not boot ,i tried a lot of things but still no luck so i reinstalled OSX in the IDE disk yesterday i bought a SATA2 disk so i tried to do the same thing ,from IDE to SATA (60GB partition) after the copy the sata partition was not bootable (blinking cursor before the darwin loader) tried the usuall things ,set to active bless blah blah .. . i copied startupfiletool to /usr/sbin or /usr/standalone/i386/ i rebooted with a DVD started terminal to install the darwin loader at the new disk but i get a "startupfiletool unknown command"at terminal.. can somebody please spare 5' to point me the correct steps to install the darwin loader at the new disk so i can boot.. for now only IDE disk can load darwin so if i want to boot at the SATA i type: rd=disk2s1 thankz Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/98675-carbon-copysuper-duper-disk-to-another-disk/ Share on other sites
hecker
How are you trying to run the startupfiletool command when booting from the DVD? I mean, what commands are you using and from which directory are you running it? hecker EDIT: Did you try to google for an answer? e280l132
I had the same problem.. You are on the right track.. search for a file called bootefi.zip. extract that to a usb drive and run the script. Just say no to replacing the kernals and kexts. Just say yes to all the parts regarding booting. It worked for me.. I can now restore a superduper image and make it bootable again. good luck Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/98675-carbon-copysuper-duper-disk-to-another-disk/#findComment-705048 Share on other sites

wolfiebear
This way is easy: After I make the clone copy in SUPER DUPER, I open up my copy of "UNIVERSAL OSx86 INSTALLER" and apply the last 3 out of 4 check boxes to the hard drive in question, hit Install, and BINGO! That's it! Just to clarify, listed below are the options I have selected that makes this work. (I suspect it's not all three that are needed, but I figure, for now, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Maybe somebody else can set me straight on this one) •Apply PC_EFI v9 Chameleon Edition 1.0.12 •Apply Ethernet EFI String (Time Machine Fix) •Apply EFI String for video card Hope this helps somebody..... Even a noob dummy like me can do this one. ~Inga Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/98675-carbon-copysuper-duper-disk-to-another-disk/#findComment-1179532 Share on other sites

The Time Machine fix is used to make your Ethernet adapter appear "built in" to the OS so Time Machine works. Finally, the last option is used to add info about your graphics card to get QE/CI, Resolution settings, etc. working with or without other graphics kexts. AppleIIGuy
To clone a drive with CCC all you need to do is re install Chameleon or PC_EFIV9 on the drive you cloned to. It's that simple.
