I have been in the iso and testing scene for close to 10 years but i am perplexed as to why nonw of the os x trials (i know they are not trials) do not install at all. when i boot i enter all the required cmds and none work starting with Kalyway Leopard 10.5.2 when i enter any cmd my pc reboots no errors no nothing it runs about 6 lines and then reboots. i cant even go into safe mode or use single user. with ToH_x86_9A581_RC2 i can enter in any commands and i just get errors after the fact so it seems it wont install theses are my specs if you can tell if this will work. it is a custom mobo so it is not on any website to check to see what they did in thier bios or other booting options or com

I installed Kalyway 10.5.2 , works great ,but my i can't install the driver for my GTX 285 graphic card.

Can you tell me please,why ? I tried to install it,and the message "the OS 10.5.2 is outdatet for this driver" appear on the screen. I need 10.5.7

I read about updating to 10.5.7. ,and it's pretty complicated. Is there a version of 10.5.7 ,to have the same installation method like 10.5.2 ? I mean ,just boot from DVD,and ...go..

My specs : Gigabyte GA EX58-UD5 ,Intel 7 920 ,3 GB DDR3, 2 x WD 6400 AAKS ,Nvidia GTX 285 ,Sound Blaster X-FI Xtreme Gamer ,DVD -RW LG ( sata ).

Let me begin by stating that I am a MAC Newbie...sorry, but it's true. I can follow any thread when it comes to Windows, but I am lost on the MAC stuff. Here's my issue: I have been trying to get OSX installed on my Dell Inspiron e1505 laptop for quite sometime. I finally was able to get the Kalyway 10.5.2 version to install and have the PC boot up. I want to get to the latest version of OSX (10.5.7). I've tried running the upgrade right from Apple and my laptop locks up and states I must restart my PC by holding down the power button. Upon reboot, same thing. I then tried to upgrade to 10.5.3 first, same problem. I have read through a number of the forums and instructions here, but quite honestly, the instructions are for people that have a clue...and I honestly don't. I don't know what a ktext is let alone where to find one and disable or modify one. Can someone provide me with a true "Upgrading Kalyway 10.5.2 to 10.5.7 For Dummies" instruction set? problem here on my i7 system with asus p6t se

 

i've added my kext to the 10.5.2 kaly iso and burned it. but i'm getting a reboot or a cpu panic caller that is talking about the ACPI_SMC_Platform_Plugin Fix - after some google action i found the noSMC bugfix but it is just for windows. i have only a macbook to add this bugfix to my iso. any workaround for this? i hope that i can fix the installation with this. or anyone other workaround?

This Distribution is great, even if not the latest, this is the only one had worked for me out of the box with no tweaking, or pain, or debugging maneuvers (tried latest iAtkos, ideneb, iPC, leo4all, and Jas Server with no success) my mobo is an asus P5B-5(P965 / ICH8R) w/ E6750 2.66Ghz .

ATI 3650 PCIe didn't work even was detected properly at installation (1024x768) no QE. drivers from http://osx86.radeonhd.eu/ didn't work for me either, got artifacts and was completely unreadable.

then I switched to my Asus 3870 512 which worked great(QE enabled and maximum resolution detected on my LCD monitor) after chosing NATIT_For_X2000_X3000_Series during installation.

The only downside is safari 4 asks for 10.5.7? anyone knows an easy way to update current kalyway 10.5.2 to 10.5.7?

I've already gotten rid of the Vista Ultimate (64 bit) OS..and formatted the drive as HFS+

 

 

 

HOWEVER, using the Kalyway 10.5.2? disk (which worked fine on the INTEL board).... It keeps getting stuck during the initial boot (BEFORE even loading to the install screen) right after -

 

acpi rsdp rev. 2 found at XXXXXXXX (I don't remember the address)

 

 

 

I've tried googling and haven't found any solution that works. I've done -x -v -s , etc etc. but it always gets hung up on the boot right after the acpi rsdp line. DOES ANYONE have an idea or suggestion that might help me get this working. Why does it keep sticking on that..and what (considering the processor, etc.) can I do to get past that?????

as in booting windows with os x, you would need to install one of the bootloaders, like Chameleon or something like that, just search around the forums for dual booting. You'll find the awnser on here seen it asked many times.

if you want adding drivers support to dvd boot you must put the Kalyway_10.5.2_DVD_Intel_Amd folder on your desktop then put kexts you want add to dvd extensions in the ADD_KEXT_TO_DVD folder (you can find natit for ati hd in this folder) and run Add_kext_to_dvd_boot.command !!!

Notes: if you have problems on reboot with video gfx (blue or black screen)

I have a wmp300n wireless card and after reading the compatibilty list for what I need to get this to run, it seems like I can't find them anywhere!! Would anyone on this thread happen to have the install of 10.5.1 (IO80211Family, IONetworkingFamily, IOPCIFamily) that they could link me to? I see all these different kexts for newer builds and im afraid the plist isn't the same and it wont work..

What should I be doing here?

I am guessing the configuration is not correct so what should i do?

I am very new to this and still trying to figure it all out. I have been since tuesday this week reading and trying different distros with no luck.
