After install, rebooting my laptop cant initialize MAC OS always showing "Still waiting for root device". I tried yet type in the command line of Darwin: platform=X86PC -v -x -v rd=disk0s* -v (replace the * with your OS X partition number) -f -v platform=ACPI -v and nothing changes and always returns the same message "plist not found". Deme
I have installed Kalyway and everything is working except for my LAN I have a Realtek RTL 8111B which was working but then after a restart it failed to work. So I restarted again and nothing... after a few hours of searching I found a driver package and installed it (RTGMac_v2.0.0.zip) no result... but after restarted twice it worked again. Then one more restart and not working again? What the hell is going on here? I have also a REALTEK wireless adapter but it is not being recognized at all even after installing the latest driver package (RTL8185_MacOS10.4_Driver1.4.0_UI_1.4.2.zip) Are there now too many drivers installed? how do I force a driver to be used? Help what if I boot under a different Kernel? Here are my other stats: CPU intel dual core E2200 2.2Ghz Motherboard Gigabyte GA-P31-S3G Graphic card Nvidia Ge Force 9800GT Sound(On board) Realtek codec ALC662 My system is dual boot with xp sp3 on a seperate hardrive Thanks in advance -D Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/98086-kalyway-1052-dvd-intel_amd-sse2sse3-efi-v8/page/38/#findComment-1149683 Share on other sites
daoliverio
Asus m2a-vm Ati Radeon x1250 2 GB Ram IDE DVD an OLD 40 GB IDE HDD with SATA converter on SATA 1 slot (OSX installed on here) 1 TB SATA HDD for lots of extra space Install took less than 45 minutes with mostly default stuff...used MBR instead of GUID with Mac OS Extended (Case-Sensitive, Journaled). Takes a little over a minute to boot which is annoying but expected. Sound works and so does network card. Also, my cheap SD Adapter works just fine. USB mouse works but my old dell ps2 keyboard works only when i unplug and plug it back in (annoying). The only problem is that the OS seems to crash a bit and it's completely random. I'm running now with -x flag and i'm downloading iDeneb v1.4 so see what the newer version does. I tried to kalyway combo update but it seems to freeze when trying to reboot...oh well. Firefox crashes all the time, but I'm waiting for google to make chrome available anyways. All-in-all i'm very pleased considering that i'm meshing old with new hardware. Another problem is that the hdd is pretty old and i've had to use Tuneup Utilities in XP to fix physical errors. I'm not seeing an option to do anything like that in OS X... gtr_nut
Hi, I am a total newb at this, but want to try to run OSx on a PC. Based on the posts, your DVD is very good. Where can I go to download the .ISO? I tried following the donate link, but it's in French and I can't understand what is required. Any assistance will be appreciated. Thank you. wootster
Hi guys to install OSX Leopard 10.5.2 i have used this guide http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.ph...DualBoot_10.5.2 Everything went ok until i had to insert GParted live CD. It is based on Debian as i have noticed, but the problem is that my graphics dont work on Debian, X dont work and screen cannot display that mode. At the moment i can't boot into win XP or mac. So i would like to know is there any alternative for GParted CD? Specs: MSI P35 Neo 3 E7200 ATi HD 4850 DDR2 800 mhz 4-4-4-12 HDD SATA seagate 250 gb 7200rpm Is it possible to use any other linux live-cd to do that step? i have ubuntu. I Would appreciate any help. xykosomatik
at long last, i had the time and the inspiration to get this thing going. I was able to install tubgirl's Tiger on my AMD 64 X2 desktop via USB external drive. but then, my asus a3a laptop which died a long time ago was able to power up again, probably thanks to 3 drops hehehe... anyway, so i removed the external hd, returned it to the asus laptop, and installed Kalyways 10.5.2... everything works! well, almost, wifi won't. i tried the iwi2200.dmg from the google site, but wont get past the "pls. restart" thingy after a reboot. so i just logged in safe mode, deleted the folder from the systems folder, got an extremely long LAN cable... a macbook at last! i forgot, on initial boot up after install, got the blue screen error... just followed what the readme says and installed the intel drivers. problem fixed! now my next steps would be on updating to 10.5.4 to try the iwi2200 fix again.
