950 should have support all the way into 10.6.. so no worries :hysterical:

Thanks for the reply mate. All version of Tiger worked great on my system. But with both Kalyway and iATKOS 10.5.1 DVD there mouse trailing issues with the GMA950. And looking at the notes on this new DVD it looks like the problem is still there.

GMA950 (tiger one full accelerated and resolution support but with mouse artifact)

I have an HP Pavilion 9628 that has a GMAX3100 video card

Selecting the driver works but no QE/CI !?

Is there any way to remove the Leopard Update driver from this release?

Was working with Kalyway 10.5.1 with Update to 10.5.2 without Leopard Graphic update.

Seems to be related to the new Framework.

My webcam doesnt work any longer.. maybe due to the new video driver also.. dunno

Everything else seems to work..

thanks for the help and Keep up the good work KALY!!

curious about this as well. Can kaly or anyone verify which version of AppleNForceATA is on this dvd ?

I just burned it....it appears to be the latest version, but not the test-version. Which means anyone having SAM Multimedia read errors will still have them, unless they slipstream the correct kext.

Speaking of which, as someone who does not have access to a real Mac right this moment, it would be most appreciated if someone could slipstream the the test-version of MeDevil's kext into the ISO, and post the resulting PPF/mkext/whatever here!

to my previous post about getting stuck on post install....its kinda weird. i left it there, continously tapping on the touch pad. the installation resumed! until getting on the apple logo thru partiton install. i just continously tapped or moved the touchpad to continue installing, it stops when i stop tapping or moving. its still installing taking more time as it should. i will post my results after. :)

I don't get this. The 9.2.0 speedstep kernel, if it's the same as Netkas one, would appear to work fine on iATKOS but if I want to use it on Kalyway, I have to live without USB or else not use the speedstep kernel at bootup? I tried the patch included in the installer but no joy. Modified usb kexts from 10.5.3 beta didn't help, killed bootup.

Great install Kaly. Love all the options. I just need help with one thing. After the install I have lost the ability to pair with my Bluetooth mouse. It sees it and connects to it but when it trys the sync a passkey it fails every time. I haven't had this problem with your first distro or any of the others..... can you help?

after installing, rebooted to apple logo. then stops. funny thing as my previous posts, i had to move the touchpad or constantly press the keyboard so as the "rotating thingy" rotates. left it all night with a laptop charger pressed down on the keyboard to continue "rotating". woke up in the morning and its still rotating. will decide this afternoon if i will format the partition and try zephy's release. darn... :(to fix mbr, try acronis os selector which comes with disk director suite, or easy bcd which can only be used for vista. but, it can be used for xp by copying the boot folder of a vista computer if you have one then transering it to your xp. you can google it.

Managed to succesfully install 10.5.2, but when it reboots it hangs after showing a white background with a grey apple logo. Anyone know what the problem could be?

I ran out and picked up a cheap PC last night to try this out, and now I'm experiencing the same issue.

Can you guide us how to add natit.. as me all confused.., tanks

Hey, far from an expert here but from what I understand of what I did, you need OSX already installed to run that command. Boot into it and open up a terminal window. Make sure the whole Kalyway downloaded folder is on the desktop and type in "sudo -s" and then dratg the command file into the terminal. The commands will run and all should be well.

P.S. Don't make the mistake I initially made - if you've already burned a copy of the Kalyway disc, remove it from the optical drive.

I just injected natit.kext but I'm going to use pacifist to browse the dvd to make sure it's there first before I make another coaster..lol

Fixed my own problem :-). I installed the kabylkernel and my bluetooth issues were reolved.

Love this distro Kaly! It boots and shutsdown so much faster than other distros!

Thank You....

Thanx to Kaly's team!!This is the best release ever!! ;) The only problem I have is my gma x3100 graphic card.It works, but the quartz extreme isn't recognized/activated.Without it I cannot run Vlc mediaplayer which it close when I launch a videofile.Someone can help me please?Thanx!
If you're using a laptop with an Intel GMA X3100 in it - in my case specifically an Acer - don't put a tick in the GMA X3100 checkbox. If you do, Quartz Extreme won't work, whereas if you leave it empty, it will. Crazy but... everything is smooth - and seems even faster if you then install the Leopard Graphics update from Apple. Your mileage may vary - GMA X3100 is a problem with some laptops.

Anyone got the speedstep kernel and USB to work? I have tried everything I can find to get USB to work with that kernel but no joy, at least not on Kalyway.

i guess it could be the problem if in the system.kext is another version number stored than the version number of the actual running kernel (e.g. 9.2.2 instead of 9.2.0 - find out running kernel with "uname -a") if so then you need a proper system.kext) i took it from the .pkg of kalyway 9.2 kernel pack with pazifist

I installed Kalyway 10.5.2 on my HP dv2000 series. Smooth installation (some minor problems), no Wifi (unsupported card), sound only through speakers, but the main problem is the computer is overheating after a while. I installed the default kernel. What kernel do you recommend?

Great DVD, this is working on my HP DC7700, I was unable to get the other Kalyway DVD to boot. Now I have every thing working except the lan.

*UPDATE* to solve lan problem I am using a cheap USB Airlink+ 3025 addapter, installed drivers and works fine

No Problems with USB

Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4

Sound - had to use Azalia Audio package - no mic input

Lan - Intel 82566DM Gigabit Network not working.

Thanks a lot for your work Kaly team.

There were no problems in installing kaly beta leo 927, and 10.5.1, however I can't install this version.

When I start installation it goes to -v mode and reaches to darwin 9.2 and freezes, that's it. Do you think there is problem with my copy of Kaly 10.5.2 or there is smth else?

thank a lot!

I'm using Asus A8jp, currently working on Kaly 10.5.1+ kaly update to 10.5.2, +darwin 9.2

Well, I managed to get the latest AppleNForceATA.kext injected into the DVD, and it installed without a hitch!

I'm doing the whole, cliched "writing this from my new install" post right now as well.

Just a note Kalyway...

Upon install, I couldn't actually get the nForce specific kernel to load properly. It would always hang after starting up the DSMOS module. Now that it's installed, it works without issue though.

Either way, this is a superb release; I'm glad it works without the horrible instability/incompatibility issues I've faced with other install DVD's. Excellent!
