that's a good idea. I found out today that I cannot most of my USB thumbdrives. oddly enough, usb mice work fine. I replaced the new c2d 9.5 with the previous c2d 9.4 kernel and it's fine now.

as I patiently sit here waiting while using 10.5.4.....oh where is my kaly updater and fixed c2d 9.5 kernel

I've updated the package with the last 9.5 and Sigmatel 9200 (based on TBcarey's one, speakers are working now :thumbsup_anim: , no more shutdown issue ).

I've also add kexts to update the system from Offical Apple's Updates safely. (rebbot will be needed).

Cf first post.

PS: The latest Voodoo kernel support core 2 duo fix, you can use this one instead of the one from the package.

I have a Dell inspiron 1720 my specs are as follows PRC,T8300,2.4,3MB,CPEN,M0 Dual core, 3 GB ram, 250 GB SATA HDD. I downloaded Kalyway 10.5.2 I can boot off the DVD, but the install keeps freezing at the same spot. I tried doing -x cpus=1 and switching kernels I tried searching for the same issue, but didn't come up with anything any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Disabler.kext: neutralize AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext (witch cause kernel panic during/After update)

Appledecrypt.kext: On-the-fly decrypter for some parts of OSX (loginwindow, finder, dock...etc), replace Dont Steal Mac OS X for non-apple hardware.

Appledecrypt does the same jobs as dsmos.kext, you don't need both.

You should try Iatkos 4i with the following options.

Stock files (checked)

Then Sata under system.

Or try to reburn your disk but a bit slower without any application running at the same time.

Let us know !

I'll try re-burning the dvd, if that doesn't work I will try Iatkos 4i, I was recommended kalyway. I assume you want me to check those options once the installer loads correct?

Thanks again !! I will try tonight and report if I still have kernel Panic.

Also Sonotone should you'll be able to include the FFSCROLL in the system management instead of installing manually ?

Another thing, none of your Audio sigmatel kext work on my 1530.. I had to use the applehda patcher and a linux dump to get it working. Any sugestions ?

No during the install ensure that these options have been checked (selected) in the customize windows.

FFSCROLL panel is not very helpfull for hacked trackpads. You need to follow instructions on Ranova Thread.

the sound kext is 9228, but a bit capricious. It should works after sleep.

Has anyone had any problems with USB on their Vostro? I have a 1310 and my USB harddrive won't recognise, however my mouse/keyboard works.

// Edit: never mind. Just got it working using this: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=117029

Maybe you should add?

Thanks!

Ok, installing this breaks the USB sleep fix including in your package, and installing your sleep fix does not allow me to view USB harddrives.

I had a similar problem, my webcam doesn't work anymore then my usb seems very slow after this kext installation.

But I think there a fix on the macgirl post.

Let us know if you find a fix.

Scuse me Great Deceiver,

Are you dual booting on a GUID partition ?

Because is the only way to get the EFI working properly on mac and I would like to know how you made it.

Thanks a lot.

How do I undo whatever this package does?

It's broken my install three times now, and I don't feel like reinstalling again. My keyboard is broken and now the audio volume icons don't even show up anymore.

I only selected Sigmatel 9205, Clamshellsleep, and media keys when I installed.

Hi all,

I just discovered this thread and I think it's wonderful to put together the main issues for Dell Inspiron laptops.

I actually own a E1405/640m Inspiron laptop with Core Duo 2 Ghz, 2048 Mo RAM, graphic 945 GM ... I thought I can use this package made for Inspiron 9400. But in fact I've little problems with the 0.35b package ...

Indeed I get a message like the kext is not correctly installed for trackpad ps2, clamshelldisplay and natit.kext. Moreover, I've no more keyboard (I've to boot in safe mode to get my keyboard back).

Some solutions would be greatly appreciated ..........

Thank you all in advance.

Guillaume

What i missed to say is that after the problem of installing these kexts, I tried with the 1.3 version, which didn't solve my problem !! Even after repairing the permissions...

Do you know if these package work with inspiron E1405 ?? Could you explain me precisely how I can solve the problem ??

Thank you very much!!

G.
