Tek_No
I'm just loosing it While following Maxxuss' instructions to install 10.4.4 I got at the point where, after booting 10.4.4 for the very first time using rd=disk0s2 -s, I need to run the kextcache commands... But every kextcache -e -z -a i386 command returns"illegal instruction" I ran the full install process again with the same results. I'm using the mach_kernel.all (copied as mach_kernel to / of the Mac Os X 10.4.4 disc) but I have the feeling that this might be a sse3 problem (as I have a SSE2 non SSE3 cpu) Anyone has a solution for this? bsod
i had the same problem when booting off of the 10.4.3 patched install dvd and doing rd=disk0s2 (after installing 10.4.4 there, and having 10.4.3 on disk0s1). I found that if you dont setBoot to the 10.4.4 and continue to use the 10.4.3 original bootloader, and then just press F8 and chose youre 10.4.4 and do a -s boot, you shouldnt get the errors. hope that helps. edit: as sidenote, i couldnt figure out how to get 10.4.4's bootloader to work on its own with out 1043 so i had to install a barebones 1043 on a middle partition (3gigs lost ) and use that to chose between 10.4.4,Windows, and what I called boot (the 10.4.3 boot partition). kinda sucks that i lost 3 gigs but it was pissing me off so atleast it boots now and i can dual boot...
