antrunix
Good new from (YOU KNOW WHO!). M****s has just released his patch solution for 10.4.5 update!!! Take a look at his site! I mean, looking at your screenshot... i can see 4 "...READ or WRITE..." errors, am i wrong? Patches for the 10.4.5 Update Available February 23rd, 2006 I’ve just finished the patch solution for 10.4.5 and the instructions for the update procedure. This should work for everybody. Next on the agenda are the iTunes issues with AMD CPUs and a more convenient 10.4.4/10.4.5 installation, probably by patching the Restore DVD. Also on the agenda for 10.4.5 are: M DVD and ATI SSE2 patches, and the Maxxuss Tuning package.

SenVa
I'm happy to say that im posting this from a mac... Well a ppc mac. I'm patching the dmg right now... I'll try to keep you guys posted. I'm first going to test this iso in VMware... Once it is able to kinda boot in there I'll burn it and test it in a AMD 64 (with SSE3)... Hopefully I'll be the first dialup user on 10.4.4. PS... i still need to get the 10.4.3 Kexts... if someone would upload a few in a torrent or a freeupload site... or my email... or something. I would be in your debt. mindslip
I can confirm that the 10.4.4 patched install dvd around does indeed cleanly update your 10.4.3 system if you boot it and run the install. Didn't screw up a thing, and I have a lot of custom services (dns, imap, slimserver, etc.) running. The only minor bug I see is that the fan stays in high-altitude-cruise mode, but I've seen a fix for that somewhere on here.
SenVa
Mindslip, The patched dvd you speak of... Would that be the same one that this fourm is built around or is it the Demonoid prepatched dvd?

gianry
I have an sse2 cpu, and before I ran the autopatcher I replaced the i386 boot files with the ones M released to bypass the sse3 check. Then I ran the autopatch script as normal...mine installed just fine. I posted about it back on page 1 or 2. Could you help me please? I 've got a centrino laptop so the patched restore dvd doesn't boot. I need to replace the boot files I understood. Which is the procedure to change that files? I've the .dmg os system and the autopatcher thanks a lot

cyrana
No one is allowed to provide kext files, unless they are the open ones included in Darwin. (which can be downloaded easily enough anyway)
jorisw
To everyone reporting success or failures, *please always* include whether you have an SSE3 or an SSE2 processor. Otherwise it becomes impossible for others to draw the proper conclusions. The brand and model of your PC means little or nothing to most of us. I would even appreciate it more if those who have already reported their results, would go back and edit their messages to include their type of CPU and its capabilities. This way we can see if the DVD does or doesn't work at all for certain types. Thank you.

gianry
I 've installed the 10.4.4 system with the prepatched iso(.rar archive) and I've not seen any option about the bundled software for the intel imac . Is that a diffrent release or that iso archive has been modified on the install menu ? The intel imac restore dvd patched doesn't work on the SS2 only cpu. I've got an SSE2 P4. I believe you need to replace the /usr/standalone/i386 files with ones that are patched for SSE2 I believe (if you've already done this, sorry). Although, I did this for a Pentium-M sytem and it still gets the error. *shrug* Edit: Doing it all manually made it work foe me.
