Hello InsanelyMac viewers.

I am running a ASUS P5VD2-MX/P5V-VM DH Motherboard with an ATI AT1986A Built-In sound.

The driver I am currently running is a SoundMAX Intergrated Digital HD Audio driver (on windows)

Any ways to get this working?

It has no input or output devices detected. I can not get sound working out of any devices.

I am running Mac OS X Tiger 10.4.8.

Thanks, Machead.

First of all. To be sure what hardware you have run Everest.. you get free edition on there homepage.

you will get exact commercial name of your soundcard codec.

Then try -> http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=34075 Tutorials (The Genius Bar)

Nup. No luck on that one. I will try again getting a new AppleAzaliaAudio.kext and replacing AppleAC97Audio.kext with AppleAzaliaAudio.kext.

If anyone has AppleAC97Audio.kext that would work with the link that OsXsO posted please let me know.

Would AppleAzaliaAudio.kext be on a Mac OS X Tiger install disk?

Thanks, Machead.

PS: I need sound to install garageband.

Soundmax is an ad198x Codec you must use the appleazalia.kext!

Its not an AC97 Codec and wont work for soundmax
