No go on install, I hear the clack of my 500gig trying to engage, whilst the Still Waiting For Root Device" msg reappears.... hmmm... ok it works in mbr but not GUID....and even that is erratic... think its time to ditch this board.

Anyone got any good suggestions for a decent mobo that will hackintosh and support the AMD 4800+ ?

Ok I am not sure I remember your Device ID's Footsie, I have been real busy trying to get some other things working.

For fun I made an "About this Mac" installer. With this option selected it will detect your CPU and put it in for you! Yes finally someone has bothered to add some support to avoid manually having to edit it! For now only English is supported sorry!

That sounds pretty cool. Can't wait to get my hands on a copy! Sounds pretty interesting to me, makes it simpler for the noobs. Good luck on the rest of your to-do list.

I am still working on that among other things. A few things to note from my experience with latest build on my AMD machine. Here is a screenshot for reference.

Eddie - I see in your pic of the terminal that you are still on the 9.2.0 kernel.

I was wondering if you will have the AMD version of the 9.2.2 kernel in this install?

Since you are including the 9.2.2 Intel (vanilla) kernel.

The AMD 9.2.2 Kernel is floating about somewhere.

kotoeri kana-kanji conversions are not working due to a missing set of kotoeri dictionary files in the path:

/System/Library/Frameworks/ApplicationServices.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/LangAnalysis.framework/Versions/A/Support/

If you look at a functioning 10.5.2 system on a Mac with Japanese installed, there is 68.7 MB (71,804,158 bytes of files for 24 items mainly kotoeri dictionaries) in this folder. Copy them across to your hackintosh in the above path, repair permissions and reboot and kotoeri kana-kanji conversions will work.

Would anyone be so kind as to make these files available somehow?

I have Leo4allv2 mostly working on my Dell Inspiron 531. :P

I'd really like to get this japanese kanji conversion working though.

It *almost* works, in that I can input hiragana and then press spacebar to get the kanji, but pressing enter doesn't finish the kanji conversion (it just sits there, and I can't type any further). If I click away with the mouse and wait about 5 seconds, the kanji sticks, but that's a mightly slow way to type in your kanji!

My Dell Inspiron 1520 gets stuck trying to boot the install DVD.

This is the last thing I see with every kernel option (Kalyway 10.5.2 and Leo4Allv2 10.5.2)

MAC Framework successfully initialized

using 16384 buffer headers and 4096 cluster IO buffer headers

IOAPIC: Version 0x20 Vectors 0:23

[]

uses GM 965, nVidia 8600M, Core2Duo, 4GB RAM.

iATKOSv2 10.5.1 boots up but it's only 10.5.1

Anyone have any suggestions?

Wowww thanks eddie for your great release, I installed Leo4All last night and it is working right away. I have couple of question because my wireless card and audio are not working.

1. Wireless card is WG311T from netgear with Atheros chip.

2. Realtek HD audio built-in on Intel 915PBL chipset.

Is their anybody else found same problem. I am downloading Leo4AllV2 right now and will install once is done.

But Eddie i saw one other issue, when i tried to start Leo without -v it just hangs at blue screen on boot.

I'm missing 7 files worth a total of 606,217 bytes in this directory.

To get Japanese input working on my Leo4allv2 install, does anyone have these items available, or know how to get them off an install DVD (any of Leo4allv2, Zephyroth, etc.)?

I've attached a picture showing the items in my directory.

I'm experiencing the same issue as Zippea. I can not boot into the installer no matter what boot options I try.

To try to debug this I wanted to read the last four lines of output that come after loading extensions.mkext that are being displayed for only a fraction of a second before the reboot. So I set up my SLR to take some rapid fire shots and after a few attempts I got it.

T42StartingDarwin.JPG

Zip, are these four lines displayed for you also (even though they are very difficult to read because they disappear so quick)?

It looks like a problem of interaction between EFI and the BIOS on my Thinkpad T42 (spec).

q. Am I correct to assume that "EFI build: ToH" means PC_EFI?

q. What version of PC_EFI is being used hear?

q. Is the inclusion of the PC_EFI bootloader for the installer something that is peculiar to Leo4All? I have been able to boot into the installer for most other releases (like Kalyway 10.5.1 and JaS 10.4.8).

Thanks for any input.

I have the same problem with my old Pentium4-M laptop. Although I can get no Leopard releases to work on it. I have been trying to figure out the cause, if I do I will report back. I am unable to tell if its ACPI related or kernel related. I am leaning to kernel related though.

Hi Eddie11c, any findings about this? I've the same problem with vanilla kernel. My system config, just in case:

Pentium Core 2 Duo 3Gh.

Mother ASUS P5PL2 (chipset intel ich7) (no execute bit, ACPI and APIC enabled in BIOS)

4GB RAM DDR2 667

SATA HD

NVIDIA 6500 256MB

Realtek 8168/8111

If I install netkas kernel, ALL is ok.

Try installing AsianLanguagesSupport.pkg from the DVD(May need to use pacifist to install manually), this should be fixed as my latest install has 17 items for 68.7Mb

Hello, i am trying to use different smbios kexts to fix the "about this mac" crashing my finder ( even in the v2 release ).

I can't substitute the existing one because it says that i have no rights to do it.

Also when i try to repair permissions on the disk it says that every issue found couldn't be repaired.

Is there a way to gain permissions? I am logged in as administrator so i can't understand why.

Thanks for every suggestion.

Thanks for the tip eddie. I'll try.

My installation is from the Leo4allv2 DVD, and do have 17 items in the directory, however, only for 68.1Mb on my hard drirve.

According to nekton, there's supposed to be 24 items for 68.7Mb.

Will be my first go with pacifist, so wich me luck... ;)

Sorry guys, neither of you posted your actual Device ID's so I am unable to give any assistance. They should look something like this: VENDOR_XXXX&DEVICE_XXXX. If your in windows you open up Device Manager and click your controller. Click the details button of that controller and scroll to Hardware ID's.

Here... hope that u can include support; i have various problems with that GPU - only package created by MacMan2007 (under ToH 10.5 updated from JaS 10.4.8) enables QE and CI
