opps, now a major problem...No SATA drives are detected, not even my DVD drive...

I tried to disabled the Jmicron chipset to see if the built in LAN would work and when rebooting No SATA drives are seen, I don´t think it caused the problem but that was what I did just before my SATA drives disappeared. Enabling Jmicron again, did not give me the SATA:s back... Ideas?

I solved it, resetting the BIOS to default.

Updated:: Ok.. I think I found the solution to the issue.. Just in case anyone else runs into this..

First restore a full backup (time machine or using superduper!) then download a file called bootefi.zip I think it can be found in google.

extract that file to a usb drive. boot off dvd or usb drive and run the .patch file that was included.

Answer no to any of the questions regarding replacing kernals or extensions. Just say yes to everything about boot / efi and bless. (I had no ms windows setup on my HD.. so not sure what happens if you do).

That did it for me and I am now able to restore a previous image I made and make the partition bootable with EFI again.

Hi eddie,

first of all thank you very much for Leo4All, I tested it today at the local hacker/computer club and they all loved it. We followed the installation very carefully but were greeted by the SIGSEGV device 0 error.

This is on an AMD system:

-motherboard: Asus M2N Sli-Deluxe (nForce 570 chipset)

-processor: AMD Athlon 64 X2 5600+ (2,8Ghz)

-graphics card: Asus En8600GT Silent 512MB (just an Nvidia 8600GT)

-installed on IDE HD from a SATA DVD reader/writer

Though I think the problem is the chipset but I don't know what I can do to fix it.

Help would be very appreceated and again thanks for this great project.

PS. Sorry if my english isn't that good.

That means you forgot to check the AMD system fix option. The files were not decrypted and cpuid's were not patched. Try again making sure to select this option.

Hey,

I like your build, it works well on my desktop.

Although on both my laptops i'm getting the PS2 problem, I tried the installer, and that was a no-go. I also tried replacing kexts, and dI couldn't find the ones needed, have you created another solution besides the installer?

Thanks

I finnally got Leopard to work on my Dell E521(special thanx to NUCLEar and Indyslim), i used the Leo4All version, but my problem is that after the install, Leo doesn't recoganize my internal DVD-ROM (sata Sony SCSI interface, but it also says FIBRE look at the pic), my HD is also Sata with FIBRE interface and it works just fine, so is there any way i can change from SCSI to FIBRE or there's another solution to this problem... any idea on my problem?

Also, I have a ATI 2600PRO HD, I just ran apple updates and it found an update for ATI 2600 XT, I checked System Profiler and it said I had a 2600XT!!! (I just got the card a day ago, so I'm not sure...), Anyways, should I do the update or not?

Thanks

I have got very minor issue related to general usability. For some reason it's really hard to use ps/2 or even usb mouse (I tried both) in leopard, meaning that the cursor moves are not precise, sometimes the cursor slows down and you have to make physical effort on mouse itself to move it to the right point.

Did anyone expereince or notice such a problem ?

Should I buy apple mouse :) ?

cheers

Sorry guys, neither of you posted your actual Device ID's so I am unable to give any assistance. They should look something like this: VENDOR_XXXX&DEVICE_XXXX. If your in windows you open up Device Manager and click your controller. Click the details button of that controller and scroll to Hardware ID's.

Eddie11c: I see that you are giving no attention to my posts. Well. Nothiing I can do about it.

Could you create a good installation guide for your next release, that we would know WHAT to install to our computers, due to the fact that there will be many boxes to tick in your new version...

Thank you.

There won't be alot to check off, there will be more options but at the same time it will be simplified. All you will have to do is click install really. The default options will get everyone a working install pretty much. Doing the last testing now to detect the AMD CPU. If this works you won't even need to check that one off, it will detect it for you. The only people that will "Have to check something" will be those with an Silicon Image or SAS chipset. Everyone else can go with the defaults as I have confirmed this to work fine on all of my computers. You can customize it more to choose a specific kernel or video drivers, but defaults will get in you into Leopard at least.

Well, I'm one of those people who like to have their computers clean, with no unnessesary {censored} :D If you know what I mean.. E.g. some drivers I wont even use..

So when's the big day? The V3 release day? ;-)

Jake,

What are the specs for your laptops and what kernel did you install?

There are a variety of things you can try but I need a better idea of the above before I can point you in the right direction.

PS. Did you try the PS2Nub fix I posted earlier in this thread?

Glacial, I had a similiar issue with Kalyway. Post your specs and what kernel you installed.

I am trying to install Leo4Allv2 on my computer. I checked the md5, which matched. I burned and verified the disk, and it passed the verify stage. I allowed the disk check in the installer, and that passed. However, it stops saying something about basebackage could not be verified and I should try again. SPECS: Amd x2 4800+, 1GB ram, nforce4 chipset, nvidia 7800gtx, sata hard drive. Do I need to reformat the destination drive? It is currently formatted in HFS+ from when I installed tiger on it. Thanks eddie for an awesome disk!!
