eddie11c
EFI is version 8, I will look at updating the Nvidia Video drivers again, but they are just a real pain since so many cards require a certain version of NVinject. I have got everthing working now with the major overhaul. Just have to finish updating a few more drivers. I have a few more things I want to test out, specifically for my AMD machine before I can release. If all goes well it should be ready some time over the weekend. I will open a new thread for it, as many things have changed.
cmdshft
Ya because if your using Leo4all it dosn't mean that all hardware is supported. Your SATA/IDE chipset is incompatable. I have no idea what it means but thats why it isn't working. If that was the reason, I wouldn't have even been able to format the HD to HFS+ Journaled and begin the installation at all. Please don't post if you aren't even clued in slightly as to what you are trying to talk about.
BB88
After getting frustrated with my P4, I gave up and tried it on my AMD X2 (with NForce 6100/430a MCP61 chipset)... it installed nicely on an USB external drive! However, I have to disable my 2 internal SATA drive to get it to boot from the USB drive properly. However, as many other people, I couldn't use my PS/2 keyboard, so I just found an unused USB keyboard and the keyboard problem is solved. Now, I'm left with 3 problems: Video, Sound, and Network. - My video card is an Nvidia 8600 GT (256MB), but the NVInject didn't work, and it gave a kernel panic. - My sound is the onboard Realtek ALC662, which I don't know if it is compatible with any of the other Realtek packages included. - My Network is a NForce network controller, I tried the Forcedeth and NForce packages and both didn't work. Questions: 1. If I wanted to uninstall a kext, do I just go into /System/Library/Extensions and delete the file from there? 2. If I wanted to install a new kext not from the DVD, how do I do it? I double click the file but the installation interface doesn't come up. Thanks Eddie again!
eddie11c
Use kexthelper to install a new one, just drag and drop really. If you want to remove one, just delete the kext from the Extensions folder and delete the Extensions.mkext from the Library folder. Not sure about your video/sound/LAN there are many posts here about them, try searching around for it. If you find a solution for your LAN/Sound please let me know what it was so I can include in the future. Don't post a topic, but please post the kext and for what specific hardware it was good for. asapreta
I`m trying to install LEO4ALL v2 and everything wents fine except for video. If I don`t choose x1600 on installation I can`t select the resolution even without QE. Is there anything I can do? This card never gave me problems on Hackintosh. silaisa
Hi eddie & all! It's my first native install and I'm very happy with this version and results! Thanks!!! The only problem I have is that when I restart it hangs with "Calibration Failed" or "Still waiting for root device" so I've to turn it off/on...really not a big problem ! Thanks again and I'll be waiting for a new release
kristouf
Hi all, I have a more or less Zephyroth 10.5.2 install working but I have some issue on it. Can I update my MacOSX 10.5.2 (and how?) or do I have to erase everything to test the Leo4All version? If I have to erase everything , what are the important directories to backup? Thanks for your help and thanks to eddie11c for his hard work!! KrisT@uF

Mamas
eddie:I hope you pay attention in my posts here. And if you just could insert working RTL8187 driver for Realtek cards it would be great. And Also integrated sound driver for Intel's DP35DP, which link I posted erlier. It's the only driver working for sound card and its in beta stadio. I found it from here: http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/HCL_10.5.2#Intel By the way, does it have to be liek that: when i install mac os, I change refresh rate from 60 to 75 (or anything else), but when i do that, blue sreen shows up, and then i have to press reset button. Thats how I change it ;] Does it have to be like that, or its a NVinject problem? And is there have to be Darwin boot loader with its 10 seconds waiting until start to boot up computer? thank You! eddie11c
As I said, I am no longer going to search for drivers. If you would like to see something added then post it. And I mean the kext, not a link to a page with another link to a page with drivers.
Guest newbrocca
Hi Eddie11c... sorry, but ,at your distro which option should I have to check(for a nvidia8500 gt) , the 10.5.2 pack or nvinject options? not different drivers... asoftlad
Eddie, I appreciate you are limited to the size of a DVD and couldn't possibly include every driver available, the simplicity of few install options enables users to install quickly and build upon getting a fully functioning system for their specific hardware. I'd only add that input devices are key to this and support for keyboards/mice/trackpads after reboot is essential. I've attached this azaliaaudio driver as the one in other compilations didnt work for me. This modified version supports numerous manufacturers and has been reported to be successful by users with intergrated audio hardware other than mine. Granted at this stage only output works but it's a good starting point from which a user could find a fully functioning driver for their specific device should one be available. I'd also like to bring to your attention that I experienced issues with filesharing within my home network with rev2. This was easily solved by replacing the afps.fs file from the 10.5.1 version. Hopefully this was limited to me only but feedback from other users could help determine whether this is a common issue. Thanks asoftlad, I can confirm that it works with my Realtek ALC660/662 chipset, which I couldn't get it to work with the included packages from leo4allv2. Eddie, maybe you can add this in your next release I have also get my network to work finally on my Nforce MCP61. According to Windows, it's a Nforce Network controller. According to the motherboard, it's a Broadcom AC131 chip. According to this thread: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=91851 forcedeth_nockd will work. I've attached it here. forcedeth_nockd.zip

texasdr0
Browse to Library/Preferences/SystemConfigurations and open the file called com.apple.Boot.plist and remove the kernel flags <string>-v</string> Use BBedit and you don't need to worry about the permissions it fill prompt you for the password. hey there i did this and it worked for making the apple display but now i no longer see the darwin loader counting down and it also says there are some errors? but it still boots. is that normal? all i removed was this line: <string>-v</string>

metasailor
Thanks so much for this release. I've also tried Kalway and Brazilmac; this is the first version that's worked this well and installed this easily. There's only one remaining hitch for me: can't get the audio to work at all. I checked the specs on my board, a Gigabyte P35-S3G; and it says it has the following Audio specs: 1. Realtek AL662 codec 2. High Definition Audio 3. 2/4/5.1-channel 4. Support for S/PDIF Out 5. Support for CD In I also have an M-Audio Firewire 1814 device; I downloaded the Mac OSX drivers for that. The Lea4all OSX86 seemed to see it once installed; but I could get no audio in or out of that either. Possibly a separate issue... And of course both onboard audio and M-Audio Firewire 1814 work fine on the same box, on an XP install (which was on a separate hard drive). I tried installing kexts from this page: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=32859 the "stac9227" testing one. It worked well according to this guy, at the bottom: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...2989&st=840 But not for me - in fact, it's now locked up hard and I may have to do a re-install. ...So, what kext or whatever should I install, for an AL662? And I used this application that came with the install - "kext helper" and let it install the unzipped kexts at Kext Helper's default settings - is that how I should do it? I'm just a newb, wandering around in the forest here...any help anyone at all can give me would be so incredibly appreciated. mobo specs are here, if that helps anyone - http://tw.giga-byte.com/Products/Motherboa...Name=GA-P35-S3G Thanks, ~j : )
eddie11c
I will add the Azailia audio and the forcedeth. Asoftlad that will work fine for using ACPIPlatform version 1.2.1 but some people are using the older 1.0.3. This is where the problem is. I have changed the default install to ACPIPlatform version 1.1.0, with an added option of 1.2.1 and 1.0.3. One is the current and the older one is for max compatibility. BB88
@metasailertry this (just a couple posts above yours): http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...2989&st=880 it works on my ALC662. However I'm going to try another one too: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...mp;&do=findComment&comment=525900 which others say it may work better. @eddie: I will let you know if this is a better one so that you can include it. EDIT: I confirm that only the AzaliaAudio.pkg.zip uploaded by asoftlad works for my ALC662. Hey all. asoftlad
...So, what kext or whatever should I install, for an AL662? Try the Azalia Audio.pkg I upped a few posts above yours and reboot when prompted. This has been reported to work for BB88 who has the same integrated audio chipset as your own. run the package and reboot when prompted. If still no joy then try Extensions repair and reboot. S.SubZero
Thanks very much excelent work.I don't sincerely think that verbose on reboot is a great problem instead of i think that it helps you a lot if the system doesn't start. It's his little personal tweak. If you don't like it you can always remove it later. For those first several boots it's quite handy. Also, you didn't need to quote the entire first post. njones133
Hey All - I tried to install Kalaway on my Dell 700m and I have been able to successfully install the program but when I boot it goes to the grey Apple screen and will never boot or if I do a custom install and select the vanilla kernel it goes into a boot loop! I have downloaded Leo4Allv2 to see if that works but after d/l and bruning at lowest speed it will not boot on my laptop it won't recognize the DVD! Any ideas as to either way I would greatly appriciate! Thanks.
