Bearcat
First, nice release test machine: ASRock 4Core1600Twins P35 (P35/ICH9), Q6600, 4gig ram, 250gig sata hd, Pioneer 110D dvd drive, extra dlink network card. dvd kept rebooting. started again with "cpus=1", dvd booted and installed, formatted drive with mbr, selected my network card, sound card, and selected kernel 9.2.0 (NOT vanilla, hoping the older acpi/apic stuff would get installed, maybe it did) after installation, machine rebooted, kext loaded, then rebooted, kext loaded, then rebooted, etc, etc, etc. booted with "cpus=1" and machine booted up into the welcome video. sound detected and dlink network detected and works. Any ideas on how to fix the "cpus=1" issue. As this is a Quad Core, it doesn't make any sense to run it as 1 core. thanks for any ideas.
eddie11c
Hello all. I tried that hackintosh version, it works great for me. With vanilla 9.2.2, and nvidia 256 drivers. My PC: Intel DP35DP mobo Intel Q6600 CPU 4 GB Kingston RAM SATA DVD-RW SATA HDD's (set up in IDE mode) gigabyte geforce 8600GTS video card. (selected video kexts and 256 mb driver) Problems: Integrated LAN does not work. Integrated Audio does not work. Biggest problem: When I insert Pentagram LAN card (Realtek RTL8139D chipset), the setup dont even boot up. It stucks just before Leo4All (with yelow apple) window showing up and HDD shows no activity. if i remember, its aprohemately after line: "RAIDserver not responding" could mount /dev/ ..." or smth like that. But when I remove that LAN card, setup goes just great. Any suggestions how to make that standard Realtek LAN card work with this release?? because I like it very much! Its simple, and not stuffed with {censored} and non-wanted settings like other hackintosh releases. eddie11c: if you are reading my post, and if you'll do something , you should know, that THAT LAN card works with Kalyway's 10.5.1 version in install. It installs normally even if the LAN cad is inserted and LAN card WORKS! Could you insert some settings from kalyway release to yours or smth, that could make Leo4All work with Realtek LAn card, which is the only way to connect in hackintosh world... I hope You understood me. Looking forward to Your reply. Thank You! Buy the way, witch chipset driver should I choose?? If I remember i chose ICHx fixed IOATAFamily.kext - did I choose right? Ones i didnt vhoose any, and if i remember well it stuck after installation after reboot window. So we must to choose chipset driver? I have reworded some of the options in the coming update. The ICHx driver is for all intel chipsets. I am not sure whats going on with your LAN problem. I have never had this issue and I never disable my LAN. I have disabled the mDNS so you don't see those annoying errors during install(I think it slows the bootup) maybe that has something to do with it. If it installs fine without, then remove it. I can't change everything for one person. I have seen alot of threads about this, some people have had success with an older BIOS. But that seems to not work for everyone either. You will probably be stuck like that till they update their BIOS.
ludacrisvp
Is there anyone out there that can get Time Machine to work on an AMD system with the Leo4allV2.iso install? Help.
feldmaresciallo
Hello eddie, i just finished installing the V2 rev and it's all ok! Thank you very much. I also solved the problem with my built-in audio ( Realtek ALC 660 5.1 channel CODEC with High Definition Audio ) finally got it working. The only thing that still doesn't work is the "about this mac" which makes my finder crash, but i can live without it . I would ask you one thing: i installed leo on my first hd on a primary ATA disk. I have a second SATA hd partitioned NTFS with xp on it. If i set it on AHCI in the bios i can access it from leo. But i can't boot in xp as it reboots itself. If i set it on NON RAID i can dual boot but i can't see it in leo. Any idea about that? Again thank you so much for all. Mamas
Hello again. First of all I'd like to thank asoftlad for helping me crack that Realtek LAN card problem Now I'm writing from my MAC Pro 3.1 :-P (eddie11c: You should change your RTL8187 driver into that one, which is in Kalyway's DVD. Or smth. That one works with no stucking at the installation!) Second thing, I managed to solve problem with my integrated Audio (Intel DP35DP mobo). I used STAC9271D_0x83847627_testing driver, which you can find it here: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=32859. But I have a new problem: I can't start my installed MAC OS X without installation DVD. When I remove it from DVD-ROM and restart/turn on computer I get that error: HFS+ partition error What should I do? Thank You. By the way, I'm hearing strange noises from my case (It's open), when I'm using my mouse's rolling button or when I'm expanding any window (click on corner and drag). It sounds like silent "krrrrrrr" or "trrrrrr". Anyone knows why is that so? Or anyone expierences that too?
eddie11c
Sounds like you installed on a drive with another OS already loaded. The EFI bootloader will not overwrite one if it exists already. You will need to flag your partition active for whatever OS you already have installed then setup dual boot through it.
Mamas
No. I did everything like first time. I have 2 HDD's I installed MAC OS X on the first one (there are some files in other and it is in NTFS). There is no other OS right now. Nothing about that noise?
lpperras
I tried installing this version of OSX86 on my Dell Inspiron 8600 Laptop. I was able to run the latest Kalyway release, but I changed the HDD and wanted to re-install a new version, and thought it would be easy to install the Leo4All version. I put the DVD in my laptop, and then when it starts loading, it crashes after approximatly 8 lines. I'm unable to see what the error is at this point, the computer restarts too fast. Does anyone ever had this issue before? The processor is a Pentium M 1.6ghz. The machine has 2gb of ram. Thanks!
silaisa
Hi Eddie and All!! SOLVED! I'm at the Wellcome Screen Yesterday I got my new 500Gb sata, I made 2 partitions: 1st: 100Gb Fat32 Primary and Actvie Labeled "Leopard" 2nd 400Gb (approx) Fat32 After that, I booted from Leo4Allv2 dvd and installed successfully in the 1st partition (Leopard). When the installation finished I saw a big green check saying that the install was succesfully done! (Wow, I thougth…) and that it will restart in 30 secs, I pressed Ok and the PC restarted but started booting from the dvd even though I haven't pressed any key to boot from it. I removed the install dvd and booted again, at this moment I got the Darwin boot loader, pressed Enter and it started booting until I recieved a message: "Still waiting for rood device" I've been reading the forum and posts related to my mobo, people with succes connected the sata hd in the Sata 2 (nearer to the cpu) and set it as IDE and I disabled Jmicrom Sata. Then I tried connecting the hd to Jmicrom and setting it to IDE and recieved this message at booting: "Calibration failure…" BTW, when I installed Leo, I left as it comes whith the 9.0.2 kernel, no extra Languages and any driver. Sander122
Thanks for this release! This is the first one that works with my IDE(PATA) DVD drive! Anyway, it boots up (with some warnings/errors) and then I have no disks in Disk Utility.. Pretty strange. More details in this thread There should be ICH9 drivers included so.. Does anyone know what the problem is?
MF-John
I was wondering if anyone has got forcedeth working in Leo4All. My Device ID/Vendor ID: 0x03EF10DE, I edited the forcedeth.kext and added my Device/Vendor ID to it and it says something about "0x03EF10DE is not supposed to work, Continuing Anyway." It always gives me a 169.*.*.* with the 255.255.0.0 Subnet Mask I've even tried unplugging both the PC and Ethernet cord for 30secs like it said to in the forcedeth thread. Any help? EDIT: And I don't really have the cash to go out and buy a new network card.

MF-John
Did you use the nForce drivers or the nForce test drivers? My computer hung at the booting process but I used the nForce Test drivers and I didn't install any gfx drivers and leo booted like a charm. I'm just having problems with LAN Darn nForce... eddie11c
This will not be an issue once I finish my work. I have inlcuded all known nForce SATA ID's in both drivers, just one supports SATA DVD and the other does not. The one that does support DVD though may have stability issues, but that comes with the territory. I will have to release a new DVD as I have redone all the package files now. Things I do need feedback are on what extra drivers to include for LAN and what other applications? By redoing the whole base filesytem I have freed up about 300 meg + room for the original extensions folder. The install should hopefully be faster since it has less packages to install. I only have about 2 or 3 remaining issues to work out related to this. I have fixed a problem with the Silicon Image driver on the DVD(not sure if anybody actually uses this) added support for some SAS controllers(by request). Added an option to remove FireWire for those that have issues with it and install the powermanagement bundle for laptops. If there is a change you would like to see now is the time to speak up. eddie11c
It is kernel or EFI related. This causes the system to reboot right after EFI loads and just as the kernel should load. I don't know how to fix this currently, but am still looking into it.
asoftlad
If there is a change you would like to see now is the time to speak up. The inclusion of APIC-Fix option for laptops with vanilla kernels would be most welcomed if this is possible. Throwing in the PS/2 keyboard fix from the wiki would also be nice
cmdshft
I just tried installing this and during installation it couldn't be completed because it could not verify 'javatools'. I thought it was a bad burn, so I burned another DVD at the lowest speed, and again, it gave me that error. Any reason why?
ak890
Ya because if your using Leo4all it dosn't mean that all hardware is supported. Your SATA/IDE chipset is incompatable. I have no idea what it means but thats why it isn't working.
Guest cavallo
******************************************************************************* Leo4All-10.5.2 Universal AMD/INTEL[sSE2/SSE3] ******************************************************************************* ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Release Notes ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is a release I created for my own use. I have an AMD and an Intel computer and wanted to simplify the install. I have made it with max compatability in mind, but your mileage may vary. All original Languages are included. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Install Notes ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The system is setup by default to boot in Verbose mode. You can change this yourself if you want in /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist. I included BBEdit with the applications, it can edit the file in place with correct permissions. During the DVD bootup if your stuck at "waiting for root device" I am sorry your hardware is probably not supported. You can try changing some options in your BIOS, maybe you get lucky. If you get error com.apple.boot.plist not found your DVD is most likely bad, burn it again at a lower speed. If you have an AMD system please check the box for AMD-System-Fix to aplly the patches needed for Leopard to work!! AHCI works, but you are limited to two drives, turn this off if you have more than 2 drives you need to access. If you have an older computer with limited options in the BIOS(ACPI/APIC) and you are able to install but when you boot the freshly installed O/S you are stuck just after ACPI loads, try installing with the APIC-Fix checked. This will install an Older ACPIPlatform and APIC for better compatability. Video Driver support is very hit or miss, please install first without it. You can easily add this yourself afterwards. The EFI bootloader automatically detects and installs for MBR/GUID thanks to Dense, it may have specific problems for Bad-Axe 2 systems. Please select your IDE/SATA chipset during install.(One and only one!) Default selection for kernel is Netkas improved 9.2.0. If you select Vanilla kernel please uncheck Netkas kernel. If during the inital account creation your system locks up, try disabling your Network card. If you installed Video drivers during install(not recommended) and your system freezes before the desktop loads, boot with -s and remove the Video kexts. If after you boot to the desktop you get an error about an Extension not being properly installed open the Application I included called Extensions-Repair to correct this automatically. There is no way to support everyone as the drivers are just not available. If this does not work for you I am sorry. I will give what support I can and I am sure others with knowledge will too. Please read the above comments before asking questions as many of the common issues are covered here. UPDATE-- Wiki information is slowly going up HERE UPDATE-2 PPFv1 is now available for you enjoyment. Thanks very much excelent work. I don't sincerely think that verbose on reboot is a great problem instead of i think that it helps you a lot if the system doesn't start. I have triakis drivers for my sapphire ati hd2600pro 512 vram, correctly recognized but without QE/CI. incredible dvi is here and QE/CI no. my system is: MSI K8N NFORCE 4 FI (NOT IN HCL) AMD OPT 170 SKT939 3800 64 BIT X2 2 GB DDR2 333 64 BIT SINGLE CHANNEL RAM SAPPHIRE ATI HD 2600 PRO 512 VRAM MAXTOR 20 GB ATA 133 7200 RPM DVD PHILIPS 2412 R/RW +/- DL PS/2 KEY AND MOUSE GRUNDIG LENOVO 26 LCD FLAT PANEL TV once installed i reboot enabling firewire on board all devices, dv and web cams, printers ext iomega 7/1 usb card reader and floppy and others are correctly recognized also together, but no QE/CI. what i have to do? litania72
HI eddie Thanks a lot, i managed to make it work. I disabled the firewire, and changed the ide to 'enhanced'. I used nvinstaller v33 to get my 8800gt working. Audio working (alc883). Only thing..........no network, and i know that people somewhere had the same prob. As said b4 i have an asus p5e-vm hdmi and the lan chipset is: Atheros L1 PCI-E Gigabit LAN controller hope u have a solution.................and thanks again Forgot................... I used Leo4all v2 and the 9.2.2 kernel, with the ichxx update. By the way 2 questions: Did u include the leo graphic update with the installer? People talk about EFI, which 1 is in your Leo4all v2? Thanks again
