speedy523
hey, i downloaded Leo4All and burned it to a dvd, but after it boots it hangs on "Kernel Version: Darwin Kernel 9.0.0". It says this after i hit boot and a bunch of white lines scroll saying loaded blank kext such as nForceATA. So, can someone tell me how to continue the boot? Specs: EvGa 680i 8800 GTX Intel Core2 Duo 2.4ghz Seagate 80gb IDE HDD Western Digital 160gb SATA HDD Samsung Writemaster SATA DVD Drive Sony IDE DVD Drive can anyone plz help? i just redownloaded the newest release and burned it at the slowest speed. The first time it booted to a black screen saying "Leo4All v2" with the spinning rainbow loading wheel, but it just hanged there 45 minutes till i finally rebooted my self. This time it hanged again at "Kernel Version: Darwin 9.0.0" and continued to hang there for 45 minutes till i rebooted. And from now on it always hangs there. I've also reformatted the drive Im installing Leopard onto to Mac-OS X Journaled using my Kalaway Make Leopard Boot CD, and that still didnt work. Ive also tried installing the Make Leopard Boot files after that, and once again that didnt work. So can someone please help figure out a way to install Leo4All? gurukool
Ok guys here is a new Extensions.mkextI have added quite a few device ID's in here, both for ATI and Nvidia. If those with Nvidia don't work I will try transferring them over to AppleNforceATA.If you are stuck waiting for root device try turning on AHCI mode if you can also. Hey Eddie, Finally I was able to install Leopard into my machine ...but i was not able to test it though....I am having issues with dual boot option...I tried EasyBCD as well as CHAIN0 method...nothing seems to work yet ..I am dual booting with vista...I havn't yet been able to enter the starting personnal info screen...I could just finish the installation..That too only after i used my USB DVD drive to install from...my Laptop DVD drive always used to hand at "waiting for root device"...not sure why... ...could be i didn't need all that Kext modifications if i had tried booting with external DVD drive before... Still looking for solutions for Dual Boot.... Thanks for all your help though...

aroaros
Hi, I write in the search for advice. I downloaded the Leo4All v2, but i'm stuck in the fist part of the setup. After the no-gui part when the installer opens a screen the only thing I can see is a blue screen without mouse. If I press space I can see disk activity, so I know that it's a problem of the graphic card. My PC has a Intel 945GM (it's a minipc with integrated graphics card) the pciutils tell me... VGA compatible controller [0300]: Intel Corporation Mobile 945GM/GMS, 943/940GML Express Integrated Graphics Controller [8086:27a2] (rev 03) ... so my question is. Can I add the gfx string (conveniently converted) to the installer disk so the graphic card is correcty detected? If so, can anyone direct me to a tutorial to do it correctly?. Many thanks in advance.

eddie11c
footsie what happens after you install with nothing? I include JMicron controller by default, and can give you the updated IntelPIIXATA to install manually. But if it is writing to your drive ok this would be an easy fix. Its a matter of what happens after you install. Does it not boot at all? Is this a partition of a drive with Wndows? Or a completely seperate Drive? I have read about some people having some I/O errors that was fixed with changing the IDE cable froma 40pin to an 80pin type.

emaildepot
Hi eddie! i'm showing you some of the photos of i took after installation. --- Btw, do you think the mktext would work for me? since i have an ATI chipset and video card. and wat are mktext for, if you wouldn't mind me asking? although, i will also do my own research of it as well. Thanks again.! :-) photos are reverse in chronology: should have been success in installation, and the two other photos after rebooting. :-), the last on my screen is the buffer heading something. :-) then after that, it freezes there and doesnt do anything even after 10mins. :-(

Hi gurokool! :-)Although, i havent been able to have a succesful leo installation yet, but ihope i will be able to help you with the dual booting. i have my system running with VISTA, UBUNTU and "still yet to function" Leo (hehehehehe). You can use the Live CD of Ubuntu (download it here). By fixing the boot sequence of Vista (flag it to Boot in the Ubuntu's partition manager).after that, boot vista.when ur in vista, instal EasyBD, and try to fix it through miscellaneous recovery. or you can try to put my attached file into your c:\nst folder.I hope this thing helps, so you can fix your booting problem. As for me, i was able to boot 3 OSes. but 1 "still to fix OS- leopard". Ironic. hehehehe.does booting with -x work? usually when people get stuck there its the firewire driver. I used it also. but still, i get the same message after loading. :-(is there anything i can do to turn off the firewire? i tried looking at my bios, but sad to say, when it's a laptop, limited bios options :-(nst_mac.rar

silaisa
Hi All, it's my firs post I've download Leo4ALLv2 and still seeding, in the meanwhile I've been reading this thread but I've some questions regarding to my HW specs: 1- I'm planning to buy an internal 500Gb SATA2 HD, I read about the Leo 2 drives limit, but I don't know if this is related to 2 physical drives or it doesnt' support more than 2 partitions in the same hd? Actually I've installed WinXP in one IDE HD and I have other IDE HD with media files. Will be possible to make a partition to the new SATA2HD to install Leo and then dual boot with WinXp on the IDE HD? Thanks in advance, silaisa
eddie11c
There is a limit to 2 AHCI drives currently, but with the next update I am working on it should fix that. The new AHCI kext's cyclonefr posted adds improved AHCI support. If you don't have AHCI enabled you will be fine with more than 2 though. I have fixed a bunch of Device ID's and added some kext's in the last day so hopefully the next update will be the last for me. I am currently rebuilding all the base files to hopefully get rid of those annoying SUID errors people complain about. This will also free just enough room so I can add the extensions folder. I have added the new 9.2.2 modified kernel also. I just have to test out a few more things before I finalize it.
