Hi all, I'm trying to install leopard it boots into the installer fine, but when I get there I have no hard drives to chose from.

I've partitioned my hard drive and allocated Leopard more then enough space. Just wondering what I was doing wrong?

first off the partition your gonna install leopard on has to be formatted fat32 before leopard installer will see the partition. once the installer loads, go into disk utility and format it extended journaled. installer should see it then

ok so after god know's how many attempts at installing this, i finally got it to install with the amd fix and with drivers for my sb600 however new issues have arose. i'm currently running your leo4all with both patches! finally nice to see leo on this laptop!!! my issues are as follow's so far:

1. if i boot from hard drive i get operating system not found. when i loaded the installer and went to customize, my options for choosing a bootloader were grey'd out and checked, i couldn't make a choice or change what was already checked so i continued with the installer. i can only boot to leopard with the dvd in the drive and it takes roughly about 5 minutes to boot. any ideas?

2. about this mac only shows and unknown 1.9ghz processor. not too concerned about this at the moment, i'm more concerned about getting this to boot without the dvd and to boot faster!

i figure i'll have to tackle these things one at a time, there are more though. it does see my usb ports but i can't use them, no wireless card yet, display driver qe= software, ci= unsupported.

here are a few pics so far, any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

P.S. it's finally nice to actually be getting somewhere!!! i was just about ready to give up on the whole project!

OK first off, the 1.9Ghz processor unknock is normal, you can search on how to customize that to say whatever you want. In no way was Leopard meant to work on an AMD processor.

If you have another bootloader on the logical drive the EFI installer will not overwrite it. So if you have Vista installed it will not overwrite its bootloader, you would have to set that up from Vista.

Here's my laptop specs I want to install this on:

HP dv8309us

AMD Turion 64 1.8 Ghz

ATI R200 128mb graphics

Primary hard drive: 60 gb / 15 gb partition, second hard drive 120 gb

1.5 Gb RAM

Realtek RTL8139 family fast ethernet NIC

Can I expect a decent install experience? Or just endless problems? And can you point me to a tutorial for installing leo4all on a system with an existing vista install so that I can dual boot? thanks so much!

Sosai, I have the dv8310us and I got the waiting for root device error on bootup of all 3 version of Leo4All. However there is still hope, Im in the middle of a Zeph's 10.5.1 install on the laptop right now (10.5.2 got the same root device error). I'll let you know how it goes.

Is there anything I can do about this?

Asus P5KC

did you try booting from the dvd? put the leo4all cd in and power up, don't select any boot options, just let it count down and boot, may take 5 to 10 minutes! sounds like you have the same sb600 issue i've been having for the last few weeks.

That checksum doesnt match with any of the releases. I will list them here real quick.

Original untouched ISO: 9d5a50fc18efeb41636ce42801fd45f3

ISO patched with v1: 293f82f9624eadd49baee70e19d68adc

Here's a question I asked in the main forum, but nobody wrote back. Maybe I'll have better luck here.

My Dell Inspiron 1720 laptop has a Broadcom BCM2045 usb-based Bluetooth adapter built into it. When I installed Leo4All, it worked perfectly, but I ended up going with iATKOS r2 because it supports my x3100 video card a little bit better than Leo4All. However, the bluetooth doesn't work with this distribution and I can't figure out why.

If I install Windows in Parallels and then tell it to use the BCM2045 usb device, bluetooth works perfectly fine through Windows.

I tried using Pacifist and getting the bluetooth kexts from the Leo4All DVD, but I must not have done it correctly because it didn't work.

Any ideas? With the exception of the built-in card reader, this is the only thing that is keeping me from having the perfect hackbook pro :-)

Thanks

Ok just for an update, been working on restructuring the install to hopefully speed it up a little, but mostly get rid of some errors. I have freed some space on the DVD to put the Extensions folder back, so hopefully I can figure out an easy way for those Nforce users that need VIAATA to get it.

Hello guys,

I installed this and I must say thanks. It works. However, when the system starts, instead of seeing the Apple Bootscreen, I see alot of white text loading, and then after that the Desktop appears/loads. Is there any way to enable the bootskin or something? Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Browse to Library/Preferences/SystemConfigurations and open the file called com.apple.Boot.plist and remove the kernel flags <string>-v</string> Use BBedit and you don't need to worry about the permissions it fill prompt you for the password.

Hi Guys,

Just wondering if this supports Intel SS4?

Not sure what intel SS4 is... Maybe you can explain for me.

I am unsure why it does not match, if you still have the compressed RAR's then download the torrent and point to them to force it do recheck the hash marks in case something is corrupt. If that does not work redownloading is the only way.

I have either fixed the repair permissions ACL/SUID bug or completely broke it. Not sure yet, takes all of 2 seconds to repair permissions now, so I am not sure if its working. It will repair the other drive like normal with all the errors taking 5 minutes so disk utility is working at least. Will do more testing tomorrow.

hi eddie!

..i'm just wondering maybe i don't unrar/unzip them correctly thats why i have a wrong checksum.

..i highlight all the 30 rar files and unrar them into 1 file (iso)

do i still have to unrar the iso file itself after ? (it will only show boot files)

thanks in advance!

Hello eddie, first of all let me say thank you for this is the first time i could install leo on my pc.

I would like to ask you one question, if it is possible.

I have the following mobo: Asrock 939SLI-eSATA2.

It has ULi® M1697 chipset, with built-in audio from Realtek ALC 660. Under windows, from device id it says it's a ALC 861.

I can't get no sound from it, i tried different packages from your release without any luck.

Could you suggest any workaround for this?

Thanks agian for your great work.
