eddie11c, QE/CI are working, the problem is that there aren't any resolutions to choose from at system preferences. I think it's a problem with GMA's Natit that many people were experiencing.

Your original Leo4All release worked fine, well I had sometimes little mouse artifacts like others but I could run the display at 1920 with QE/CI.

Greetings

Then it may be a matter of the AppleIntegratedFramebuffer, try this one.AppleIntelIntegratedFramebuffer.kext.zip
Alright thanks.Although on the topic of problems- the errors at DVD startup are supposed to be there, right?
On my Nforce board I always get at least one SAM error, the driver shuts down the drives at first then powers them back up. When they power back up I get at least one error everytime.

Hey eddie,

I'm that guy with the nForce 560. Well, Guess what, my hard disk isn't recognized by disk utility, and in system profiler, it says I have no Serial-ATA devices connected. Could that be because I don't have a fat32 partition, all I have is an ntfs and a few ext3 partitions (I don't think so because I don't even see a hard drive in the column)? Is there any thing I could do to get it to work without buying a external hard drive. It's a laptop a hp dv6748us, and I'd prefer to have my hard drive inside if you know what I mean. Well, I do about anything beside that, so please let me know if you can think of anything to make it work..

Ok here is the deal with your chipset, I could probably make it work. But in doing so I would break the disk for alot of other users. Nforce boards use the same Device ID's for many chipsets. I could make the disk work for yours(maybe) but then it would not work for mine. As of now I have not figured out a fix, I think this is left for Medevil if he is still working on his drivers. I will check into making a small patch later in the week that can be applied for your chipset maybe. I will get back to you on here.

That sounds pretty cool, thanks for trying. I guess you could make another ppf patch for the fix? I don't know about you but I've seen alot of nforce users with this problem. I'd bet you'd have a lot of people who'd love you if you made a patch (including me :D ). Well, that to the side, thanks for the help. I'm actually interested in what the problem could be, if you could let me know.

AMD Athlon 64 3200+ ( sse2 )

ATI Radeon 9550

2 hdds ... a 250 and a 40 ( both IDE )

1 gig of ram

NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller ( i have a gigabyte wireless card too, but i would prefer not to use wireless )

Realtek AC97 audio

motherboard: Gigabyte nForce 3 250 ( exact model GA-K8NS )

this is what i keep getting when trying to get to the installer

it just sits there after displaying kernal version.. nothing happens from there.

i'm not even sure where to start looking for a solution, i'm not very good a debugging from that mumbo jumbo :)

Try to set ACPI in your BIOS to enabled, you can also try booting with cpus=1.

I posted here once before about an Nforce problem regarding SATA and it not showing the harddisk within the Disk Utility when installing.

I have read in a few places that it's an AHCI problem, however I cannot disable it as I use a HP notebook which has an extremely restricted BIOS. You (eddie11c) suggested I take a few pictures of the bios about 7 pages back in the thread, however there isn't much point (there are no options for AHCI) heck the only thing that CAN be configured is boot device order.

Anyways I was wondering if you might know how i'd go about getting nForce630 m working? the device ID for my SATA controller is 0x055010de. Your installer detects the DVD drive fine which is on an ATA bus, so presumably the problem lies with drivers for SATA?

I do have an external harddisk; I can install os X (to my ipod) and do any patching within that if need be. Does anyone have an ideas on how I'd go about this? I did once try medevils driver within 10.4.8 but didn't have any luck, I tried injecting it into the install DVD, but it was a no go.

Anyway, any suggestions on how to get leo4all working with my sata harddisk? i'd prefer to have os X installed on the laptop itself and not on an external drive =)

Eddie,

Well I figured out my DVD/CD-RW problem. It seems I just needed to use the TEST version of Medevils NforceATA kext. Now its reads DVD/CD's no prob. Waiting on his release so I can use the buring capability of the SATA drive.

Can´t boot the cd on a Gigabyte 965P-DS4 Motherboard. "still waiting for root device" error. I´ve tried on a dvd and mounting it on a partition, always gives the same error. All the others distros run fine (kallway, iaktos etc).

and btw, all the drives (hd and dvd) are sata.

If you could open the installer log while it is installing and post that up, I can look and see whats happening. When you have the installer log in the front it will not auto reboot at the end of the installation until you close it.

I installed again and surprisingly didn't get the error anymore, went right to the end with a successful installation.

Still tried to save the log to a USB flash drive, but I couldn't, it wouldn't show up there.

So it restarted but alas, no bootloader. :(

The disc passed the check at the start by the way.

EDIT:I'll download the new version of Leo4All and try that. If that doesn't work, I guess i'll try iAtkos.

I have tried S1 and S3 acpi options on my bios but it's still showing the same error, and the same for putting cpus=1

Eddie11c, do you have that background you applied on the back of the installation? I would like to apply that as my background. That would be nice. Thanks. =)

eddie11c,

Great release - I just finished downloading v2 today, however I'm getting a strange problem when I try to access my NAS server that I built.

When ever I try Apple Menu > Go > Connect to Server, I type in the the correct server IP address, and I get a pop-up box that says:

"The text enetered doen not appear to be a recognized URL format.

URLs should begin with afp://, at://, file://, etc."

I've never had this problem on Kalyway oe Leo4All 1.0. I've tried typing the address with afp:// & without (just putting in the address) but same result.

Please help.
