freeyayo50
Try doing an EFI-GFX string. Maybe you will have better luck. Another option is just trying differnt NVinjects. Once your Device ID is in the Nvidia kexts its just a matter of Leopard enabling it properly via NVinject or GFX string. There are some good tutorials out there to follow so I won't write one here. Thanks, I have been trying out some strings but they seem to not work for me. I also ave tried to force my native resolution, but than I get the reboot issue before the kernel even loads. I will keep trying though.
cloudpjff7
Hey Eddie, I had a question. Is there any chance that this version of leopard has support for the Nforce 560 built in? Could you let me know, thank you. I was just wondering if it was possible to get it to work with it, I'm downloading right now btw, via torrent. Medo145
i think i realize what the issue is, maybe. so i got patch 2 and i applied it to the iso with patch 1 on it already. i installed it with vanilla 9.2.2 realtek sound drivers the nvidia kexts and nvinject 256, and unchecked the translation languages which is like 1.9gigs. booted up, sound is working, graphics are working properly. then i restarted, and everything worked then too. then i went to shut down. i seen a couple of lines in the terminal then the lcd shut off, but the laptop was still running. same thing happened with the restart but it restarted eventually after a min or so, but on shutdown it wouldn't shut down so i forced it to shut down with the power button. the next time i booted it up the start up was different. normally it looks like it's going into safe mode because of the big letter at the beginning. now it goes straight to the small letters after a few lines of the big ones. now when i get into the os i have the same problem as before which is keyboard and mousepad not responding. what did i do? is this fixable or do i have to reinstall? i don't mind reinstalling, but is there a way to prevent this from happening? hope someone understands what i'm saying here lol. thanks
typewriter
I am not sure what your problem is, make sure natit is loaded properly. perhaps it had a permissions issue and was not fully loaded. Just repair all the permissions. Alternately if you go on the DVD and open the package GMA950 with pacifist. You can extract the files to your desktop or somewhere and use kexthelper to reinstall them. Just remember to boot with -f afterwards to force the cache to reload. How can I see that Natit is loaded properly? I tried your script to remove the graphic drivers first. Started it with double click, typed in 3 (for intel) and hit several times enter. That did not work out- The terminal wrote "permission denied". Maybe I did something wrong here. After that I deleted framebuffer kext, natit and gma950 kext manually and restarted. Now I was still at 1024 * 768 but without qe/ci. After that I installed framebuffer, natit, gma950 one by one, set permissions with kexthelper, repaird permissions with extensions-repair and restarted every time with -f. Now all three kexts are reinstalled and I am back at qe/ci but - again - the only available screen resolution is 1024 * 768. Is there another way to fix this? Does anybody else have this problem? By the way: Audio is working too, although there is no entry at "build in audio" at "about this mac". GREAT RELEASE!
mj29
Try installing on your SATA HD from your IDE CD/DVD Drive. There were some fixes floating around once. Do a Google search and let us know. I cant get any disk to install that uses the applenforceata.kext. The only Leopard disk I can get t o install is iAtkos v1.0 which I believe is due to that release doesn't use the nforceata.kext. The iatkos wont boot in Mac Osx after it installs due to it doesnt support AMD setups. Whenever I try to boot the iatkos after the install i get the SigServ device 0 error. If I was to go buy a new Motherboard that doesn't use the Nforce Chipset but will support my AMD 4200+ 64 Dual Core, which motherboard or chipset would u guys recommend that seems to be the most stable with AMD rigs? I have to shut it off and restart using that -f switch in order for them to work. Any ideas what might be going on? Thanks

KariNeko
I'm having the same problem as typewriter, I can't change the resolution on a GMA950. WinLinMac01
Have you tried this yet? Stuck "Waiting for root device" Issue:Upon booting DVD installer you see a message "waiting for root device…" This is a known issue that comes up quite frequently. Your IDE or SATA chipset may not be supported by the installer. Unfortunately there is no easy fix for this problem. You must have a working install of OSX to do this. Solution 1 Find a known working kext for your specific chipset.(Google is your friend) hdiutil attach /"Leopard.iso" -readwrite Create a folder named Extensions on your Desktop Unpack Extensions.mkext from the Leopard.ISO in this folder mkextunpack -v -d /Users/"YOU"/Desktop/Extensions /Volumes/"Leopard.ISO"/System/Library/Extensions.mkext Remove the MeDevil's kext(AppleNforceATA.kext) Replace with the one known to work for your chipset Fix the permissions on your new file type kextcache -a i386 -K /Volumes/"Leopard.ISO"/mach_kernel -m /Users/"YOU"/Desktop/Extensions.mkext /Users/"YOU"/Desktop/Extensions and place the newly created Extensions.mkext into the ISO and burn it to DVD and try again. sniper_zero
I downloaded this, booted and tried to install, but when it's about 2 minutes remaining, it sticks there and displays the message "no receipt for com.apple.pkg.OSInstall found at /volumes/untitled" in the log. It eventually restarted but the boot loader displays "Ethernet PXE Client". This of course, does not do anything. Any ideas?
eddie11c
You have to give it time, not sure how long you let it be at the 2 minute area. At the end of the install, somewhere around that time it takes all the install packages and adds them to the repair.permissions group. Then the disk utility repairs permssions. It can take a while depending on the chipset and drive, if you just restart there will be no bootloader installed. Try again, if it really does hang there let me know, and I will post a method for you to install the bootloader afterwards for you to try.

I get all the way through the install fine, then when I get to the options of setting up my mac, more specifically, when it asks if I want to transfer info from an old mac etc.. it freezes, then takes me back to the first options page. I'm running the install with less drivers each time, but I just can't seem to get into the desktop. I'm running the install again as I type and will update further when it finishes. Please, any help would be greatly appreciated, until then, thanks in advance EDIT: Still can't get it to run. Gonna Try iAtkos, seems as though many AMD users have had success with this one. Dementual
I am having trouble installing this, every time I do it gives me a "HFS+ partition error", and I haven't an idea what causes it. Gigabyte S-Series Support AMD Socket AM2 GA-M57SLI-S4 NVIDIA nForce 570 SLI Motherboard 2GB DDR2 800MHz AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ 2.3GHz EVGA e-GeForce 8600GT 256MB GDDR3 SATA DVD Player... burned the DVD on an IDE DVD Burner, what'll that do? 'twas custom made, all parts bought on Newegg. Upon loading the DVD, it spends about 10 minutes running me through a series of errors that I have no idea what they might mean. When the DVD actually loads, I have to reformat the hard drive I guess, so I go to the disk manager thing in the Tools menu, and select my paritition. This is the part where I originally got lost. I went to the "Erase" screen and renamed the volume to "Leopard" (I had seen a tutorial once before, and I recalled them saying it needed to be named Leopard to work, I think?). Anyway, I wasn't sure what format to use, so I selected Mac OS Extended (Case-sensitive, Journaled), as my friend explained to me that this was the best option. When I returned to the "Select Your Destination" screen, the volume was there, so I selected it. It brought me to the "click here to install" screen, so I went to the options. I enabled the AMD-System-Fix and didn't touch the Kernel. I didn't touch anything else... should I have installed any third-party-drivers? Anyway, I skipped the disk check like recommended and it spent about 30-40 minutes installing (if the Estimated Time Remaining was correct). I clicked the "reboot" button, and upon reboot, it gave me the "HFS+ partition error". What have I done wrong? Is my hardware incompatible? This is usually caused by the bootloader not being able to flag your partition active, it may be an incompatibility with the chipset or something. You can manually do this with fdisk from the terminal. There are plenty of instructions around here on how to do it. Try searching first. Be sure to add your chipset drivers at the very least, or you will be stuck waiting for root device.
