iBryce
Hello, I am getting very poor performance with my hard drive. I ran Xbench and it said: Write: 1.37 MB/sec Read: 1.24 MB/sec Please help I cannot handle this much longer. Installation took 4 hours! My southbridge controller is "SB600." Espionage724
You may want to add your hardware information.
Tensuke
EDIT: Yay! Thanks to Zappadoc's kexts, I was able to fix the slow HDD. Booting up is now much faster, I'd say around 20 secs. And I haven't tested any CDs/DVDs, but it detects the drive now. The only thing I'm not sure about is my SATA drive, since I had SATA off when I was testing it. But iBryce, definitely try that one--it was the only one that worked for me, but it worked!
Magicum
But I still have troubles with my SB450 and IDE HDD. After Zappadoc's patch it became little better, however still slow. Using 10.5.2 Leopard (Leo4All v2) Full issue description here - http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=96336
Free Qaz
If it's a laptop... Then that's most likely somewhat normal. Laptop hard drives are small, and slow. Run a test in windows and see what you get.
