I am attempting to mod the bios for my ASUS U6V laptop.

I have followed the guide posted in this thread. I have removed the two "Alias" lines that appear at the top of my .dsl file.

However, my edited .dsl file then throws the following compiler errors:

Error	1061 - Object does not exist ^ (\_PR.CPU0)

4_aliasRemoved.dsl 7399: \_PR.CPU1
Error	1061 - Object does not exist ^ (\_PR.CPU1)

4_aliasRemoved.dsl 7405: \_PR.CPU0
Error	1061 - Object does not exist ^ (\_PR.CPU0)

4_aliasRemoved.dsl 8677: Notify (\_PR.CPU0, 0x80)
Error	1061 - Object does not exist ^ (\_PR.CPU0)

4_aliasRemoved.dsl 8680: Notify (\_PR.CPU1, 0x80)
Error	1061 - Object does not exist ^ (\_PR.CP

4_aliasRemoved.dsl 9207: Notify (\_PR.CPU0, 0x80)
Error	1061 - Object does not exist ^ (\_PR.CPU0)

4_aliasRemoved.dsl 9210: Notify (\_PR.CPU1, 0x80)
Error	1061 - Object does not exist ^ (\_PR.CPU1)

4_aliasRemoved.dsl 9215: Notify (\_PR.CPU0, 0x81)
Error	1061 - Object does not exist ^ (\_PR.CPU0)

4_aliasRemoved.dsl 9218: Notify (\_PR.CPU1, 0x81)
Error	1061 - Object does not exist ^ (\_PR.CPU1)

4_aliasRemoved.dsl 10004: Notify (\_PR.CPU0, 0x80)
Error	1061 - Object does not exist ^ (\_PR.CPU0)

4_aliasRemoved.dsl 10007: Notify (\_PR.CPU1, 0x80)
Error	1061 - Object does not exist ^ (\_PR.CP

4_aliasRemoved.dsl 10012: Notify (\_PR.CPU0, 0x81)
Error	1061 - Object does not exist ^ (\_PR.CPU0)

4_aliasRemoved.dsl 10015: Notify (\_PR.CPU1, 0x81)
Error	1061 - Object does not exist ^ (\_PR.CPU1)

4_aliasRemoved.dsl 12308: Name (_T_0, Zero)
Error	1080 - Use of reserved word ^ (_T_0)

4_aliasRemoved.dsl 12443: Name (_T_1, Zero)
Error	1080 - Use of reserved word ^ (_T_1)

It seems to me that removing the "Alias" lines will logically cause these errors. If we remove the definition of _PR.CPU0 (for example), then how is the compiler supposed to know what to do when it comes across later references to _PR.CPU0?

Am I supposed to remove all further references to _PR.CPU[X] ?

EDIT: I commented out all references to _PR.CPU[X]. After that, the _PR.CPU errors went away. I now have a DSDT.aml file.

I am too timid to attempt flashing my bios, so I am currently attempting the Chameleon patch that "tricks" OS X into using a bios file of your choosing. Chameleon Bios Patch Thread

Wow, thanks OriginalMACNUT. I never knew about this site: http://www.osxcores.site50.net/page2/page2.html. And I also never knew that my laptop board was on there. Calling all ASUS F8Sg laptop owners, this modified bios works: http://www.osxcores.site50.net/page2/files...Sng%20AS304.zip.

I installed it using the flash utility for windows and I could install leopard straight from the CD with no boot flags required. I have managed to dual boot with Windows XP and it works a treat! I am gonna try the latest 10.5.5 as Geforce 9 series graphics drivers are easier to get. Then I just need to sort out a couple of other driver issues.

For those that are interested, this is the result I got when installing iDeneb 10.5.5:

CPU: both cores working

Memory: all 3gb detected

Gfx: accerated with 10.5.5 and nvInject

Sfx: works out the box

Ethernet: works out the box

Wireless: not detected, drivers are in devel, replaced with another that works native now

Camera: not detected

Built in keybord and trackpad: works out the box, no side scrolling though

Hotkeys: brightness up/down works, audio does not, use Proxi for audio

Hope this helps many of the lost souls with an Asus F8SG notebook and wanting leopard on it.

I'm not sure if there's much desktop support here. However, I'm sure someone has a solution. I have a Intel Core2 Quad (Q6600) @ 2.4GHz and in my system information, it says that only 1 core is active. Now, i'm not sure if it just doesn't recognize the other 3 cores and they are actually in use, or if the other 3 cores are passive.

also, the sleep function doesn't work, when I wake it, the startup runs. but this seems to be a pretty common problem, and one that I could probably live with considering I'm running it on a desktop, not a laptop.

On a side note, I have a LG Blu-Ray/HD-DVD drive that is not recognized. How would I go about installing a driver for this?

LG Blu-Ray/HD-DVD drive - GGC-H20Lhttp://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16813128059

any help would be greatly appreaciated! :)

Hi and thanks for all the job you're doing Kabyl.

Recently I wanted to install OSX on my ASUS M50VM laptop but there is no biosmod for it, so I tried to do it by myself (thanks to david tsu and you for the tut).

There is :

I need a confirmation, can I ignore this warning ?

I fixed all the others errors (CPU0, CPU1, _T_0 and _T_1).

But there is still this warning (happening also with the original DSDT like _T_0 and _T_1).

And Iasl compiled the file btw...

Thanks in advance for your advice ! (and sorry for my bad english, i'm not a native english speaker).

hi!

I'm trying to solve some core problems on my hackintosh for some time and hope anybody can help me. my system specifications and my problem(s) follow:

Ubuntu/Linux 8.04 "Hardy Heron" Desktop/Server (VM)

Microsoft Windows XP Prof. SP2 MCE 2004 (VM)

(Windows XP Gamer Edition (VM))

PROBLEM(S):

* only one operating CPU out of four

-> in former times i read in this thread that this is an ACPI power problem of the AMI-

BIOS, which could be solved by deleting the "core duplications" in the BIOS-flash

-file and than flash the BIOS wih the manipulated file. But there was no solution

for the Award-BIOS, which is installed on my motherboard (ASUS P5N-E SLI). Are

there any new ideas out now or could anybody help me?

* OSX crashes if i don't use the 3GB-RAM limitation

-> i know this is the wrong thread, but is this problem solved acutally?

i' ll hope anybody could help me, but OSX is still amazing with only one core and 3GB-RAM, because i can run all three OSs at the same time. slowly, but i can :-). Also big thanks to OriginalMACNUT, kabyl and all the others for their great work and help.

greetings, mike

Just wanted to check a couple of things with someone who has modded their bios with an edited DSDT.

Do you have to put the ACPI table back in it's original position in the bios? When you insert a module it usually goes at the end. So to put a modified ACPI table in it's original spot I'd have to extract and release most of the bios modules, insert the edited ACPI table and then re-insert the rest of the modules in the correct order. Bit of a hassle, so if it's not necessary I'd rather avoid all that.

Also, my edited DSDT is smaller than the one currently in my bios, so replacing it results in a smaller ACPI table. Would this cause problems if it has to be re-inserted in it's original position? Or can I just pad the file out with blank data until it's the same size as the original?

Hello to all of you.

Yeah, i got the same problem as all of you do. I had the "Using 10485 buffer headers and 4096 cluster" problem, solved it and now i'm stuck with cpus=1 -f, if I don't add cpus=1, the computer restarts and if i don't add -f i get a kernel panic.

I have:

Intel q6600 processor (4 cores @ 2.4 GHz)

Foxconn P35AX-S

GeForce 8800GT 512mb

RAM 4 Gbyte

Here is my bios file. I really would appreciate it, if it would be possible for yout o fix it.

762F1P13.zip

Thanks in advance.

You really would be my hero.

I found out about this side (OSXCORES.SITE50.net) and found the already modded file.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
