Yeah, the OpenDSDT is a hit and miss.

You might check the info.plist

hi,

i did try the spacing solution but it's no luck, while looking inside the opendsdt i found some lines wich might indicate where it's taking it's table.

OpenDSDT: [::replaceDSDT] called

/efi/configuration-table/8868E871-E4F1-11D3-BC22-0080C73C8881 OpenDSDT: Failed to get ACPIv2 nub, defaulting to ACPIv1.

/efi/configuration-table/EB9D2D30-2D88-11D3-9A16-0090273FC14D OpenDSDT: Failed to get ACPIv1 nub.

OpenDSDT: Failed to get DSDT address.

OpenDSDT: New DSDT size mismatch, plist contains %d bytes, but ACPI header says it should be %d bytes

penDSDT: [::getDsdtAddress] called

table OpenDSDT: Failed to get ACPI 'table' entry from EFI.

it looks like it's getting the ACPI table from the EFI.

Yeah, that's going to hang me. Does anyone know how to Correct this and rebuild? I'm looking into it myself, but might take some time for me to learn how to correct this, as I'm not very familiar with writing programs.

isn't netkas the creator of the EFI we use?

if so maybe you could try to see with him if you have time, his website says he's building the V9 beta.

hello OriginalMACNUT

thank you very much for ASUS F5SL BIOS mod.

unfortunately it didn't resolved hanging (stucking) problem of my laptop.

I did managed to install iDeneb, but when it boots up till the desktop, it runs only for 5 minutes,

then system hangs (stuck) with no message, just frozen (even keyboard capslock didn't react).

no fan overrun or processor overheat is happening, no changes after applying patch for AppleUSB.

iDeneb installation kernel works OK by itself (i.e. - no stucking)

But Did it allow you to use both cores?

Sorry, I didn't notice the Post. I just donwloaded the bios.

I've been sick, and just doing this to past the time this week, Hence the reason in the drop of posting.

I'll check it out when I'm feeling better.

no worry, Omn, stay in bed, have a rest, you did a nice job anyway, thank you very much.

laptop seems to hanging due to graphic subsystem being unhandled (don't know yet by who it should)

or maybe due to network card SIS191 driver absence

and cores are not editable in this version of BIOS anyway, just declaration, they are present...

I'll keep you updated later

Try iDeneb. It incorporates various SATA-Fixes

Can someone help me out with a bios mod to get myself all quad core-a-fied?

My System:

Acer Aspire AM5621

Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300 (2.5ghz)

8GB DDR2

2 x 640GB HD's

Motherboard is Acer G33T-AM Bios version R01-B1 (AMI), board was made by ECS, probably a variant of the G33T-M2.

I couldn't find a downloadable package for the bios so I dumped mine, file attached.

Anyone got any ideas on how to enable the disabled bios options, i.e change SATA out of RAID mode?

Hello all. I wrote a patch for Chameleon with which you can get the same result as patching the BIOS but except that you don't have to flash it and so avoid risk: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=132757

Awesome Job mackerintel ;)

@ everyone else,

Sorry for being gone for so long, that cold I had was ammonia

Still fell yucky, but at least I'm not in the hospital now :)

I've gotten some bios downloaded, in the mean time, those of you that have Chamleon installed that I can't fix the bios for. you can dump the dsdt and I 'll get it fix, Thanks to mackerintel, you guys now have a solution :)

Thanks again mackerintel :)
