Hi! i would really like a modded bios for my Asus G50V gamer laptop:

Org bios(newest):

http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb/G50V/G50V209as.zip

HW:

Intel Core 2 Duo P8600 / 2.4 GHz - 1066MHz CPU FSB

Intel PM45 Chipset

ICH9-M SATA Controller

4GB DDR2 800Mhz Ram (2Gx2)

9700m GT

Intel WiFi Link 5100 - Not working

Realtek ALC663 - Not working

I tried doing as written here on how to mod the bios(http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=112033) but it didn't really work. i couldn't find the 4 aliases, described in the tut...

This is the .dsl output i got:

would been eternally grateful if someone could help me out with a bios mod for my asrock p45r2000:

http://www.asrock.com/mb/download.asp?Mode...T=B&ID=2089

Bios 1.80, Northbridge - Intel P45, Southbridge - Intel ICH10R, Audio - Onboard ALC890, Network - Onboard Realtek RTL8111B/RTL8111C.

Processor: E1200

RAM: 1x Crucial Ballistix 2GB DDR3-1333

GFX: XFX 7900GT 256mb

HD: IDE 80Gb WD Partition 1: Vista; Partition 2: Kalyway 10.5.2; Partition 3: Fat32 (Data)

2x SATAII WD 1TB in Raid 1

Can easily swith OS hard drive to a 300gb SATA one if it will be easier, also currently using an IDE DVD drive too, the install worked fine, just the first boot where it hangs, for it so does this mean i won't need to get an SATA dvd drive?

Cheers for any help!

Why don't you try PCEfiv9 / Chamaleon DSDT and DSDT patcher?

It's a lot safer, and you can do the the work by yourself.

Just boot with cpu=1 install either of them and use DSDT patcher to get your DSDT table fixed.

Never heard about patcher can you provide a link? And my installation do not want to boot at all, it halts anyway in the beginning without any error ;) That is why i think patched bios can help...

Of course be sure to use a vanilla installation (best with cdboot-132) and not one of those ultrahacked MacOS X distros (which may be the reason you are not getting too far in the booting process)

I looked into the DSDT patcher, but it looks like a Mac OS file. Do you patch the installation CD or use it post-installation? I installed Kalyway using cpus=1, but i can't boot into it at all. I tried MBR and GUID, and i select the boot device in BIOS. It reboots after a few seconds of bootup. When i use the install cd to get back in, I look at Startup Disks and my disk doesn't show up...

Hi, I´ve read through hundred of posts on the forums trying to find an answer to my problem but sometimes you just have to play stupid and post your self :P

I tried two different modified bios version on my MSI P35 Platinum but no luck.

One every attempt the system either reboots within a second after booting the setup or halts on "Still waiting for root device" depending on bios settings and boot command. ;)

I´m using iATKOS v5 DVD disk which worked perfectly with CPUS=1 command on another PC I have (HP dc7600)

Mainboard: MSI P35 Platinum

CPU: Intel Q6600

RAM: 6GB

HDD´s: 2 x 74GB Raptor / 2 x 500GB SATA / 2 x 320GB SATA / 250GB IDE

DVD: DVDRW SATA

VGA: ATI HD4870 1GB DDR5

Can you try make a modified bios using the latest update from MSI maybe?

ftp://duser:duser@66.232.110.239/MB%20BIO...v1x/7345v1A.rar (this is MSI´s FTP server)

Please if I have been too insomniac after hours and hours of trying different bios settings and command to not having done something dead simple to fix this...please let me know :P

best regards,

gRIMwORLD

Kabyl,

Here is the information on my system and the link to the bios file.

Motherboard= MSI P35D3 Platnuim

CPU= Core 2 Quad Q6600

Chipset= P35 Express

Graphics card= Nvidia 8800 GTS 640

Bios link= http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=do...mp;prod_no=1230

I am using the latest one which is 1.6.

The problem that I am having is that I have to use the workaround and I can only get one core to work. From what I have read it is a problem with the bios.

Shane.

Of course be sure to use a vanilla installation (best with cdboot-132) and not one of those ultrahacked MacOS X distros (which may be the reason you are not getting too far in the booting process)

Tried that too, following the instructions on the Retail Installation guide:

"6. On the boot prompt, press Enter. This time, enter the two-digit hexadecimal of the drive where you installed OS X. Enter 80; if it doesn’t show the startup volume of your OS X, hit Esc. Try 81, and so on until you see your OS X volume. Select it and hit Enter."

When i hit 81, i boot to the OSx86 hard drive, and it gives me boot options (like when i boot from the HD directly). After a few seconds of loading, it rebots. I tried "-v -x cpus=1 vanilla" and it gets further, but still reboots after saying "Starting Darwin server...". Any ideas?

Hello !

I need this Bios Patched :

http://www.esnips.com/r/hmfl/doc/43b065aa-...64f76/F5GL213AS

Asus X50Gl-042

Intel Core 2 Duo - 2Ghz T5800

3 Ghz - Ram DDR2 - 800

Nvidia GeForce 8200

I can't get it work at all, it installs fine but i can't boot into installed system! Can someone give me some ideas?

I don't have so many advanced options in my bios, i can't change suspend mode! It seams it's something related to ACPI, when i boot into verbose mode i get some errors with ACPI !

I don't know if a patched bios will help me but i'm willing to try anything to make it work !

So please help me :)

:D Hello Kabyl,

first of all, you make a great work!!! thank you and good energies for it.

I have a new Laptop Asus M50VM with the Specs:

CPU: Intel Core™2 Duo T9400 2x 2,53 GHz

Chipset: ASUS PM45 Mobile Controller Hub

Mainboard: M50VM

ASUS ICH 9M LPC Interface Controller

Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GS 1280 MB TurboCache (512MB Video RAM + up tol 768 MB TurboCache)

There are 2 posible Versions of the Bios:

http://dlsvr04.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb/M50/M50V207AS.zip

http://dlsvr04.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb/M50V/M50V209AS.zip

Issues:

I installed iDeneb perfectly in different variations.

After reboot, the system hangs at: MAC Framework succesfully initialized

using 16384 buffer headers and 4096 cluster IO buffer headers

ACPI Fix is not working.

It would be great if you could make modded Bios for all the people who have the same Laptop.

Thank you very much for you help :):D:)
