OriginalMACNUT
Got any "solutions" for that Bioses IDE problem yet? That DOC file is just instructions how to flash bios in Asus motherboards I'm sorry, I forgot to do that. Have you tried changing it from IDE to ACHI? that fixed my problem with the jmicron, I have a P43 board.

theultimo
Got an interesting dliemma here for this one: This is an Acer Aspire One. I'm currently perfectly compatible, except for one thing: hyperthreading on the 1.6Ghz Atom. Right now the only way to start vanilla is to add cpus=1 to the kernel flags. This is the bios: v3305 from Acer. Currently works great, however, just 1 core though. http://www.zshare.net/download/206097957edef844/

OriginalMACNUT
Okay, thanks. Maybe you will have better luck than me. I'll get it posted in the morning, as I'm off to bed for now. You can try this, but I'm tired, and I'm sure it will give a acpi error, but never know, could work for you. http://rapidshare.com/files/154453639/Open...5.kext.rar.html But let me look over it again in the morning if it don't work, as I can not use getDSDT on my machine, so Like I said you might have better luck

maukku
Hello everyone. I just installed Leo on my computer, which is based on MSI-P35 NEO-FI. I'm a little bit confused about flashing the bios. Is it safe to do this, and can I still use Windows (vista and xp) normally? How big is the risk that my mobo will be unusable, I really cannot afford a new mother board right now... In case that flashing goes wrong, is there anything that can be done? And to question two: How is the flashing done? My PC doesn't have a floppy drive, so is it possible to use CD or usb-memory stick, or is flashing done trough windows? Thanks in advance
rintamarotta
I'm sorry, I forgot to do that.Have you tried changing it from IDE to ACHI? that fixed my problem with the jmicron, I have a P43 board. Hmm cannot change IDE to ACHI there is no such option in BIOS there is only "enable/disable" in IDE controller settings, i do have however option "PCI Legacy IDE" witch i dont know what it does Hello everyone. Thanks in advance Yes you can use WinXP and Vista normally after this fix, DSDT mod does not change anything regarding stability of motherboard so its same as you now have, i have atm Overclocked my E7200 to 3.6Ghz and memory to 1066Mhz (4-4-4-12) and havent seen stability issues with this bios, exept that i dont really like this mobo, P35 Neo-FI have worst power management regarding overlocking, 3phases analog PWM is not enought :/ You need Live Updater 3, it comes with BIOS flashing tools, browse Live Updater 3 installation folder and go to FlashUty/AMI/AFUWIN folder and then flash bios with it. I got my self P35 Neo-FI so i can say it works if you use same bios as i do, as long as your pc dont crash when flashing then your safe with updating bios this way (disable overclocks, go for max stability doring bios update), and DO NOT POWER OFF YOUR PC Doring bios update even if it "hangs" this because windows can hang temporarily when updating bios, it will recover from that hang after update done. Download bios from macnuts website (MS-7360 MSI P35 Neo-F/FI) Btw are you from finland?

Anyway you could make a step by step log as to what you did and how you did it? Could you link the new kernel, or the forums? Also, did you try the Kernel with out the OpenDSDT.kext? I don't want to give everyone false hope, as the Kernel is likely well wrote. but, combined, may very well solve minor issues in the ACPI and how OSX translate with it. @ Everyone Else This will be very helpful to those that I can't mod the bios, Oddly, no matter how hard I try, I can't get a getdsdt dump, I'm thinking it's becuase my bios uses the .aml inside ( 10 ) and not the 1B. Would anyone that I can't mod the bios, try to dump there DSDT with getdsdt & Try the new voodoo 9.5 beta 2c kernel? Please let me know, as there is alot of user out there stuck with 1 cpu thanks, omn

Reset CMOS, hit F1, Save bios settings and reboot, should fix it Had it too after update and got it working after doing that thing, resetting CMOS completly (remove battery, move cmos jumper to clear cmos position, move cmos jumper back to working position, put battery back in, boot, hit f1, save bios settings, boot)
OriginalMACNUT
Really, if you flash back to org.bios, then back to mod bios, this fix that for some odd reason. I've yet to find the cause of this.
maukku
Doesn't help, after reboot it always says the same. When flashing, should I have selected "program all blocks"? Should I try re-flashing? EDIT: ok, i try removing battery, if doesn't help i flash the original rom back. Well, where do I get the original rom?
OriginalMACNUT
Yes, you want to program all blocks. If you didn't back-up the org.bios, look up the Factory website ans search for the MB and the bios should be in the downloads.

OriginalMACNUT
No prob, if anything, here is the dsdt.dat from getdsdt, not sure how to break it down using iasl though. This is what you need for OpenDSDT right? http://www.zshare.net/download/2061384533479219/ To be honest, this works great, as I can open it directly with hex, and dump it into a File to work with. For anyone else, don't worry about dumping with iasl, or asl. I can handle it from here, just get the .dat file from getdsdt hi, here the dsdt of my laptop, i would be happy to test your kextsolution and give you reports. Can you just get me a dsdt dump with getdsdt? The DSDT dump you post I can't open with any of my programs, also after looking at it with hex, I'm not sure if this is a dsdt dump of the acpi? anyways, can you try getdsdt for me, and hoping you can try the voodoo kernel as well. Please Mod this bios for me Intel G33 thanks in advance, Angel this forum rules Sorry, I can't open up the bios Can you try getdsdt, and up the .dat file? Hoping this will work for you as well Hi. I have a very serious problem with my Toshiba P100-257. I tried to activate my Conexant sound chip. Finally I got my sound working (speakers+headphones). This happened when I used a modded BIOS from P105-S6024 BIOS 4.00 (working on a P105-S6014). This model is practically the same as mine. But it has a fingerprint reader. But the problem is that I got 2 unknown devices in Windows and my sleep function doesn't work both in Leo and in Win. It seems that there are problems with ACPI. Can You help me to correct my BIOS to get my sleep work. Whitehorse solved this problem with Toshiba P100-253. His model is identical to mine. But it seems that he is out of this forum and he doesn't reply privat messages. He also forgot to upload his modded BIOS anywhere This is the post where he wrote his method http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?act...&pid=840090 . With great respect, jazzminos. I can't open the bios, though I know I'm sounding like a broken record at this point. Will you try getDSDT and post the .dat file here for me? Hi! If there is anyone that knows how to solve this problem in vista, I would be very grateful. theultimo
What I did is add it with kext helper. It still doesn't want to boot normally though, you still need to identify cpuis=2 and -legacy for it to work still. Oddly, its identified as a Core Solo, but Activity Monitor shows 2 cores working.
