I had the "Using 10485 buffer headers and 4096 cluster" problem, solved it and now i'm stuck with cpus=1 -f, if I don't add cpus=1, the computer restarts and if i don't add -f i get a kernel panic. I have tried Kalaway 10.5.2 and IDeneb 10.5.4 to no avail. Lastly, how exactly do you "flash" a BIOS? Do I need another piece of hardware? Thanks. sky capt Posted October 1, 2008 Share Posted October 1, 2008 Hello, i have a problem similar to qfei, i'm running a: ASUS A8JR - http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb/A8Jr/A8Jr210AS.zip intel core duo t5500 i945PM chipset 1g ddr2 667 X2 120g SATA hard disk I'm using the kalyway 10.5.2 install (which i've successfully installed on 2 seperate pcs) and the installer hangs at the screen with all the code (before the gray apple screen -> sorry for the lame explanation, i wish i knew what it was called ) I went through the thread but it seems like qfei wasn't able to find a solution in the end, would you reccommend using that bios that u posted earlier or start from scratch with a new modified bios? > i'm a bit weary of tring a modded bios as it's kinda my uni pc but hey whatever happens right? edit: also i noticed this guy who has an A8JP removed some kexts from the kalyway installer to get it to work > http://insanelymac.blogspot.com/2008/09/ho...lyway-1052.html do u think that'd work for an A8JR, or would a modified bios be the more reliable method? shalmanaser Posted October 1, 2008 Share Posted October 1, 2008 Hi again I flashed the bios with the modified version (mainboard MSI X48C platinum), but still I can not install Leo without the cpu=1 fix (infinite reboot on startup, once the install is completed and the computer restarts)... Which means of course that I have only one core detected in Leo after the install... Any idea about how to solve this ? Anyway, thank you again for having patched this bios !!!
