Hi Kabyl

Im looking for modded bios for MSI P35 Neo2-FR/FIR - lastest ver is 1.8

You've done bios for P35 Neo - and my mobo is different ;)

 

This is (P35 Neo2-FR/FIR) quite popular mobo so I appreciate if you mod this mobo for us .

Kabyl,

I see you have modified a few of the MSI P35 BIOSes to get them working, however the version that you modified is slightly different from the one that I need. I have a P35 Platinum, the driver for which can be found at:

Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciate -- its a shame to only be able to run OSX with a single core on a 4 core system --

Both-cores are working with news Dell Laptops, but not with older models.

You can try to compare bioses to find what are issues. Some people think issues are related with HPET timer support, witch supported but not activated (same thing with AHCI support.)

 

Old bios without dual-Core support on OSX(Inspiron 9400/E1705): http://ftp.us.dell.com/bios/MP061A09.EXE

New bios with dual-core support on OSX (Inspiron 1720...): http://ftp.us.dell.com/bios/1720_A07.EXE

I modified most of the BIOSes posted in the last 3 pages, and found that I've already did some of them (lazy people are wasting my time), so I decided to make things more organized by keeping the files in one place.. I will post a link once it's done.

Can you give us an update on how much more time it will take to organize these files ?

Just to update my progress/research notes here...

 

I've determined that devices are declared in the ACPI Namespace via compiled ASL that is usually stored in the DSDT table or in a SSDT table. The DSDT is where the root namespace is initialized while the SSDT is where additional devices and ALM code can be added. My best bet at this point is to compile some ASL logic for describing the HPET device and add that compile ALM code into and SSDT table entry and append it to the RSDT table declared by the BIOS (hopefully there is an empty entry or free memory at the end).

It's an auto extracting zip file, it contains rom.cab that contains rom.bin, I think it's this the relvant part;

it belongs to an hp nx9420 (laptop);

it does boot with two cores, sometimes, not always, with tiger and with leo, EFI v8 working and various kernels tested ok but after 1-2 minutes it hangs (freezes);

sometimes hangs with "could not start cpu01" at boot and subsequently reboots;

with one core works ok;

gfx chipset ATI x1600, works with ATIinject , usb, firewire;

I searched all pages. can't find my laptop model which is ASUS V1J notebook.

Can you help me to modify the BIOS?

...everything working...except the second core. (ToH 9.2.0)

Asus U6SG

 

I have the new 2.5 gHz U6SG, tried to use the modified bios for the U6S posted earlier and nearly messed up my machine (after the bios flash, the LCD panel, VGA or HDMI panel were not working) but the laptop booted so I was able to get back in using remote desktop and reflash the bios back to the latest ASUS release.

 

I have Kalyway 10.5.1 working perfectly on 1 core (have to mess around with MKEXT for APCI), cannot get driver yet for the Geforce 9300M but works in 1280x800 using the "Graphics Mode" boot option and internal wifi card 4965agn not supported yet.

 

Can anyone supply a modded bios that will work with the most recent U6SG??

Hello Kabyl, could you make me a moded bios for the Asus DSAN-DX?

 

At the moment System Profiler is showing me this instead of eight cores:
