HW:

Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 / 3.16 GHz - 1333 MHz CPU FSB

Intel® P31/ Chipset

SATAII controller integrated in ICH7

Well, I guess the title says it all, after spending a lot of time reading Documentations, Specifications, Forums.. and hunting for testers :D , I finally got tehmachacker (thank you) to test a modified BIOS, and as expected, it worked.

This is the issue that intends this mod to fix:

http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=78235

Basically, what I'm doing is modifying and fixing errors in the DSDT; removing aliases for the "processor" devices, because the ACPIPlatform kext doesn't like them and treat them as other CPUs.. (it's written for Macs, and Apple doesn't use that in their Firmware's ACPI Tables, actually I don't see why we need them, well..)

I for example change this:

	Scope (_PR)
			{
				Processor (P001, 0x01, 0x00000810, 0x06) {}
				Alias (P001, CPU1)
			}

into:

	Scope (_PR)
			{
				Processor (P001, 0x01, 0x00000810, 0x06) {}
			}

Sometimes I have to fix more stuff.. you should know that when you try to compile your DSDT.

So if you want to get a fixed BIOS, you can PM me post your request here, included with:

  • a direct link to the BIOS file,
  • your PC specs (CPU, Chipset and Graphics Card),
  • and a description of the issues.

Don't PM me with requests, post them in this thread.

You will find some of the modified BIOSes here.

Keep in mind that I take no responsibility for a bad flash or if anything goes wrong..

Hi Kabyl,

with SnowLeopard I have the CMOS-Reset Bug, so I would like to do a static biosmod.

Unfortunately I get errors in creating DSDT files, I can decompile, change values, but not recompile due to the errors. My mainboard is Abit IX38QuadGT:

http://file.abit.com.tw/pub/download/bios/...gt//m704d14.zip

CPU=Core2Quad6600, 4x2GB DDR2 800MHz, nVidia 9800GTX+ 512MB DVI, HDMI, VGA

maybe you can help me :-)

kind regards

I know I'm probably the million and 5th person to request a Bios mod, but I am doing so because I just just finished reading the entire P45 P5Q3 thread (http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=112033&st=780) and due to time constraints and n00bness can't figure out how to do the whole DSDT thing, so a modded Bios would save me lots of time. Currently with an older modded Bios my pc hangs everyday.

So if anyone capable of doing so, could pleeease spare a moment to mod the latest Bios for the ASUS P5Q3 Deluxe (2105) then I would be in your debt. :)

@Kabyl / BiTRiP? If either of you would be so kind as to help me, it would be much appreciated.

I'm seconds away from selling this gorgeous machine, this is my last effort on getting the os wedged on it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've tried doing a DSDT handoff at the bootloader but I must have screwed something up.

Thanks for any help!

Hi, I have been trying to install OSx86 on my Asus G71G-Q1 with a Intel QX9300 (Extreme 2 Quad 2.53GHZ Mobile 45nm EM64T Architecture processor with SSE1,2,3,4,4.1) with a PM45t chipset. It has a NVIDIA GeForce 9800M GS (What it reads in Windows) 512MB DDR3, in Kubuntu 9.04 Linux it's installed as a 9800M GT. My BIOS is AMIBIOS version 0411, VGA BIOS Version 62.94.3C.00.00, and EC BIOS Version WNB_0504-002. It has two 500GB 7200RPM SATA-II drives.

This is what I have tried: Disabling Turbogear function, disabling hardware prefetcher and adjacent cache line prefetch, Intel Virtualization, CPU TM Function, Execute-Disable Bit Capability, Core Multi-Processing, and Intel SpeedStep. I have tried disabling all, and multiple combinations of these disabled. I have tried AHCI and IDE SATA configs.

I have tried to boot iPC X-DL Live 10.5.6, iPC OSx86 10.5.6 Final, XxX x86 10.5.6, iDenebv1.4 10.5.6, iATKOS 10.5.6 and every single one of them causes a restart just accepting the boot options in Chameleon. I get about 1 second of output in verbose mode without enough time to read any of it. I tried every single kernel available with every distro.

I did not see a download for the G71 on the link given in the first post, is there a modified BIOS available for my rig? If anyone could post a link, or send it as an attachment to me via e-mail, that would be spectacular! Thanks so much for any help offered, I know the amount of time it takes to help people on these forums, especially when you have a million other things to do.

If there isn't a modified BIOS available, is there a way to dump the kernel output to a flash drive? I would at least like to find out what errors are occuring. Or I am using the wrong OSx86 versions? I'm not sure what version of 10.5.6 will work best for my rig, I can't find anything that says it works for SSE4 or 4.1.

Please Help!

Thanks A Ton in Advance,

JBDynamics!

Good time all, I have a Toshiba Sattellite A135-S4487.

The problem here is, put the MAC OS X and windows 7, but for Macau Wi-Fi module for the Intel 3945 chipset drivers are no where to put the system off.

And the crux of the matter, found the Wi-Fi module with a chipset from Broadcoma BCM4311 driver has seen both systems, but the Wai-Fai vklyuchaetsya not through the switch is included without emotion. Clicking fuktion + F8 does nothing, tried hard to second place with native whist drive did not help.

Can this unit to the parent as to set the windows and MAC it normally seen, and that it worked properly?

How can I re-ask the BIOS to see it as their own?

or how can I do for everything to work?
