Greetings,

What application gets you to this point in order to edit the information? I am planning on buying a Sager NP2096 and I want to be sure I can allow it to boot properly. That's really my only concern, because I have cross referenced most of the components, and it all looks good. The only problem with most PM45 chipsets is the inability to boot both cores. I know that with this mod, it will be possible to even get a boot132 retail install in the laptop I am interested in. I have been to OMN's site, but the DMICFG doesn't work with my current VAIO laptop. Also, I am not sure core fixing is possible with that utility.

Any information on which program or utility to use for DSDT and core fixing, would be most appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Those who have Acer Aspire 5580 series laptop, they can use my method of getting both core enabled. Instead of bios flashing, I used PC EFI V9 to override the DSDT of bios.

I have Z1_3508 bios installed. Using DSDT patcher tool, i dowloaded the DSDT.dat file from ioreg. Then decompiled using iasl and got the DSDT.dsl file. I modified few thing and the final DSDT.dsl and DSDT.aml looks as attched.

You may directly put this dsdt.aml file in your leopard root folder and use pcefi v9 to boot your mac. You should be able to make both core working without any kernel flags here after.

ur request here, included with:

  • a direct link to the BIOS file,
  • your PC specs (CPU, Chipset and Graphics Card),
  • and a description of the issues.

Here's the direct link to the BIOS file, http://www.adrive.com/public/16ba2a575499f...5529d6e7d4.html

That's the WPH file.

or

ftp://ftp.work.acer-euro.com/notebook/tra...0/bios/3522.zip

The ZIP file.

PC Specs :

CPU : T7200 Core 2 Duo 2.0Ghz

Chipset : Mobile Intel 945PM Express

Graphics Card : X1600 Mobility Radeon 512MB

Issue : You have to boot with "cpus=1" and installation does not get past the ethernet ( I think ). It gives me a mDNSresponder error.

I think MSI PR600 is also a good choice for Hacintosh too.

Up to now the only imperfection is unable to activate duo cores which is due to interference by special Natit.kext for its X3100 Graphics.

hey, what distro are you using? and how did u get it to install?

i have the same pr600 as you and so far out of luck - even with kabyl's modified BIOS.

Hi Kabyl.

Thanks for your great works (i have solved a problem of CPU compatibility between Asrock conroe 1333-d667 and e5200: with your 1.80 modified bios all works fine).

If you can help me with Asrock G31M-GS to work with Leopard: with any version the installation stops without error in verbose mode:

post-191768-1236378556_thumb.jpg

I Have triede iDeneb 1.3 1.4, XxX 10.5.6, leo4all V2 e V3, IPC osx86 Final, the problem is always the same; I tried with cpus=1, with -legacy.

I tried with 1.30 modified bios by original_macnute, but the result is the same.

My hardware: CPU Q6600, Video card Nvidia 8400GS, Hard Disk Sata 500MB, DVD EIDE and SATA.

News: I can install only with: USB enabled, usb legacy enabled and USB 2.0 disabled

Link to BIOS: http://download.asrock.com/bios/775/G31M-GS(1.30).zip

If you can modify the bios for working with leopard you save me

Thanks, Giorgio
