Hi Ironfelix

I have a classic ASRock issue, I'd be happy if you could clean my BIOS.

BIOS download

The motherboard is a P45XE with a Q8200 and a 9600GT.

Both the instalation dvds and after being installed in other computer freezes on:

"Using 16384 buffer headers and 4096 cluster IO buffer headers"

Cheers!

*** Everyone please remember to re-enable AHCI after flashing your bios. If you installed Windows with AHCI enabled which gets disabled later (typically after you re-flash), you will not be able to boot into Windows. The converse is also true.

Sry to say but this bios mod is corrupted..

It screwed up my entire PC - Now i cant even get it to boot..

Actually i cant even get it to turn on..

Ironfelix,

I updated BIOS for MS-7358 with modded file and now my PC doesn't start

I think it is not good file.

I will try to recovery my original bios (http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=html&name=service_note#recovery).

did not work here, the system did not boot, and stopped working, then I have to rename the rom for system restore AMIBOOT.ROM to the bios again and the system back to boot and run

I was unable to flash this modded 1406 P5Q Deluxe BIOS. When the flash utility checked the BIOS file it said invalid boot block.

Ironfelix,

I think you need to check some of your moddes. The MSI P35D3 Platinum mod bios totally made a paper weight. I see from other posts that the same thing is happening to other people. On the P35D5 Platinum there are diagnostic lights to help determine problems and it says that the CPU is not inializing or is defective. This is totally not the case since I went out and got a replacement board today and it works fine.

I would expect more people are going to be reporting problems.

Here's MD5 hash for modded ROM. Make sure it matches.

I have deleted all posts with roms that I have not tested on my own hardware. Guys, I should not have to say this, but unless your mainboard has a bios recovery feature, you should not be playing with this! I will not be posting any more mods unless you explicitly state your interest in testing one.

strangely before or installed the packets of any version of it now after the update of bios for the last available on the site worked but only with flag = 1, that bios that I am very grateful for having done that, did not work, then to update the bios did not initiate the more micro, there had to go back to the original and boot again.

Please would do so again? i could use the 2 cores of my E7300

Hallo!

First I want to thank the modders for their work.

Now my problem: I´ve downloaded the modded P5Q Deluxe Bios and flashed it. The system went on again, but whatever I did, the ASUS fallback Bios did not accept changed bios settings - on every boot it said "Press F1.." (tried even to clean RTC memory..). OK - I flashed back to the original BIOS, all OK. Next I thought: Well, maybe it´s because the bios version remains the same, while the bios changes. So to my surprise I saw that ASUS just has released a new version. I flashed with that, OK. But now I cannot revert back to 1406!

So please mod the new bios (file attached)

I have a recovery feature on my bios, so I am interested in testing the modded bios!

MY SPECS: Asus P5Q Deluxe, 4 GIG DRAM2, CPU: Intel Core Duo 8500, Nvidia 8600 GTS

Secondly: Did anybody of you have similar problems, that on every boot the "F1..." fires up and the bios settings are not saved?

Thanks in advance

Here's what I've done this time: I've examined DSDT section from Kabyl's mod of P5Q-ASUS-DELUXE-803.ROM. If you decompile aml code and recompile it again without modification, there is a 25 byte difference at the end, specifically the string "_osrom.net_mod_GSWAKh\/_SB_PCI0NWAKh" has been used to pad the binary. This time, instead of padding the binary with x00's I am going to pad it with that particular string. Curiously enough, the code produced by iasl in the new rom version (1702) is also exactly 25 bytes shorter. I have also included the MD5 hash for the ROM. You can use md5sum (or any other hash tool) to verify the checksum. Please post your results.

P.S. If anyone can post the original (not modded) P5Q DELUXE 803 rom, I am curious to do a direct binary comparison to see if there are any other differences aside from 1b DSDT section in Kabyl's mod.

can rest assured that we take the risk, because what you're doing is more than a favor to us is a grandeur that for many like me, does your PC by turning an important mod that a friend does. That must be gratifying to you and very pleasant to us here that everything works perfectly

I'm from Brazil and I am using the google translate, sorry for bad English

This bios holds DSDT section inside ACPI AML module (0x10). inertia_djs seems to have succeeded in modding his Asrock rom (http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=90505&st=1320#)

In my previous attempt I have padded recompiled aml code with zeros. Let's see what happens when we overwrite the binary and pad the remaining space with original binary code.

Marcus, I'm having the same problem like you but on my ASUS P5Q board... everything works fine but

i can't normally restart my pc, even restart button is not working. Have to unplugged it every time or hold down the power button.

And there is also "F1 button.." problem... it appears every time i turn on my pc, there is no way to save any bios changes, i tried everything!

So i had to revert my system to my old bios settings... is there any hope to solve this problem, thnx...

Thank you, I will write the bios and test, if it works I will try to install MacOS ideneb 1.3 10.5.5 without the flag = 1 and without acpi = fix to see on giving, Thank you very much

Well probably give that right now, because the system is similar to the asrock the link you passed me, Intel P45 + ICH10R, then post results and you can set the bios as tested by me;)
