I'm having similar probs with a PATA drive... In the BIOS, it appears on IDE Bus 4... apparently the others are reserved for SATA drives. In other reading, it seems that the fix for getting PATA drives to run on newer boards might be to buy an IDE to SATA converter, which causes it to end up on a lower bus number.

I'll let ya know if this fixes my problem as soon as I can make a trip out to Fry's.

Are you plugging your sata burner into a "slave" sata port? On my board (P5K) if I plug the burner into one of the ICH9R ports (red ones on my board) it won't work right, but if I plug it into one of the black (jmicron) ports it works fine.

Copy from another thread:

Had this problem too several times with Kalyway. You should check your BIOS-settings first:

AHCI / IDE / SATA such stuff.

AHCI is recommended, but sometimes I had to switch back to IDE and the problem was gone.

Kalyways DVD has also a problem with spaces in the volume name. So if you named the partition

"Mac 1" rename it to "Mac1" as an example.

Last possible reason: is your DVD-drive connected via IDE? If so, check if the drive is configured

as SLAVE. If so, change the jumper(s) to MASTER - this could also help.

Good luck!
