outZider
I have a x60 Tablet with Snow Leopard, but I was not able to get the trackpoint working either. It worked on Leopard with the ApplePS2Controller.kext fix. However, both the VoodooPS2Controller and the ACPIPS2Nub+ApplePS2Controller result in the same result: the keyboard works but the trackpoint doesn't. Get rid of Contents/PlugIns/whateverwhateverPS2Trackpad.kext.

outZider
Tablet (in x32 works perfect, in x64 TabletMagic write "No Tablet Found") You're using the 64 bit tablet enabler in the top post? In TabletMagic, does it see the serial port activated?
PH@NT0M
You're using the 64 bit tablet enabler in the top post? Yes, sure. In TabletMagic, does it see the serial port activated? I can't find where I can see serial port activation. TabletMagic v.2.0b17d1 (as I know it is only 32-bit version).
newerjazz
Hi Outzider, Thnx for all the hard work and for maintaining this thread. Would you mind letting us know when you might write up a more detailed version for installing 10.6? Again thnx! newerjazz
yTsur
I'm having a lot of trouble implementing Brightness on an X61s Leopard install. I've read through all the pertinent threads several times, but I'm just as confused. Following the steps posted at the top by outZider, it looks like an either or solution. That is, use method 1 or use method 2. But, reading through the threads, it looks like people used method 1 part of method 2 (patched their dsdt also). And it would seem other succeeded by by using method 1 and then simply replaced their dsdt with the one contained in backlight_stuff.zip. While I'm sure the answer is contained in these threads, I'm having difficulty replicating the exact steps. Would someone kindly, in a linear, step-by-step fashion write out the exact step they used for their sucessful install? Edit: Okay. Got it working It seems that you really MUST do both steps 1 and 2. It's not an either or, it's a do BOTH. Now that I have the brightness slider, how do I go about mapping it the function keys. I poked around the Keyboard prefs, but didn't see anything obvious. I read this: "Reboot, and you'll be able to set your brightness in System Preferences, or by reassigning your F-keys." and was fruitlessly searching for a way to reassign F keys. Your suggestion was much easier.

I read this: "Reboot, and you'll be able to set your brightness in System Preferences, or by reassigning your F-keys." and was fruitlessly searching for a way to reassign F keys. Your suggestion was much easier. you're welcome. However, i reasigned F14 and F15 to printscreen and scroll lock (F13 and F14) because F15 (pause) key won't automaticly repeat and it was a pain in the a** to increase brightness... gnychis
how did people solve the problem where, when you put the computer to sleep, the wireless automatically wakes it up? I am having this problem, and the hardware switch is not solving it.
hashman
I'm new to this, and I'm trying to install SL on my X61t. I followed the OP's directions exactly, but I'm not sure how to "add the -x32 flag". I edited the file with pico and added "-x32" in between <string><string>. Is this appropriate? I keep having a kernel panic after the boot process tries to load both AppleIntelGMAX1300.kext and AppleIntelGMAX1300FB. The message says "Kext has immediate dependencies on both com.apple.kernel and com.apple.kpi components; use only one style" After that, there is a quick message about the backlight and the kp happens. I'm not quite sure how to get around this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You didnt told me. then rename AppleHDA10.5.3.kext to AppleHDA.kext and install it with the LegacyAD1984.kext with a tool like kext helper (google kext helper mac). restart, boot with kernel flag -f hope this will help about VANILLA SPEDSTEP: with ubuntu i made ssdt tables for my X61 Tablet, i copied them in the root dir, together with the dsdt.aml In the Extra Folder i moved the smbios.plist (now as MacBookAir) in Extra/Extensions i moved the Legacy_ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin.kext. Then i reinstalled appleintelcpupowermanagement.kext and hpet.kext. i deleted voodoopower.kext and sleepenabler.kext, flushed kext cache. i installed chameleon rc3 and then i had vanilla spedstep. i dont think it worked that good, with voodoopower i had better battery results. sleep worked, kextstat told me that appleintelcpu...kext is loaded. some people patch the dsdt.aml with a better cpu scope so they dont need the ssdt files anymore. try it out, if you want. sound_and_mike.zip EXTRA.zip X617767_SSDT.zip

I have: 1) installed TablerEnabler, 2) made the change to the necessary file and 3) installed TabletMagic. My system recognizes the tablet. I see serial0. However, the tablet does not work. Any suggestions? Weird thing I noticed here. I have a WACF004 device. 90% of the time, in snow leopard, it comes up as WACF008. Why? I have no idea. But TabletMagic will then try to connect at 38400, fail, and then you get no tablet. I've patched my copy of TabletMagic, and would be happy to pass it along. Check your ioreg to see if it's coming up as the opposite device of what you expect. tc11228
outZider, Long time, you help me get everything going on 10.5.6. I have WACF008. Let me try and change the baud rate. Also, I am removing fakesmc and replacing it with dsmos as you suggested in a previous thread. As always, thanks for the help. Tom

Once I replace it, it is recognized again. TabletMagic changes my baud from 38400to 19200 when it finds the Tablet. Tom
