hi nasdak,

go back to chameleon 1.0.12.

1) OK Guys, seems I'm not the only one having bluetooth not detected at many occassion although it's on. Is this really commonly found? What cause it? Does this older bluetooth KEXT helped at all?

2) On getting 5-6 hours from 8cell battery, that's admirable. Would you please describe on how to install chameleon 2? I have it already from iAtkos 7i but when I downloaded and installed the new RC2, it has error in running post-install script. When i boot, I see that build number has been updated. I don't see an option to modify the setting though.

3) Last question. I started to notice that people are installing with 'retail dvd' instead of ideneb or iatkos. How do you achieve that? It won't even boot with retail dvd ...

Thanks

Dankeschön ;)

i'll stay with 2.0RC2 because evthg works except the bqd fsb reading, maybe we have to play with useefifsb ?

anyway i still don't now what speedstep method i'm using, here's my kextstat, can you tell me if i'm ok?

The builtin smbios function reads the wrong FSB in my X61 Tablet. Maybe there is an option for boot.plist i dont know yet, but you?

i created a smbios.plist file on /Extra with that text:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

<!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">

<plist version="1.0">

<dict>

<key>SMexternalclock</key>

<string>200</string>

<key>SMmaximalclock</key>

<string>1600</string>

</dict>

</plist>

and now i get proper fsb reading :)

and now i get proper fsb reading :P

Thank you, again. Will try it asap.

Went to 10.5.8 today. It gave me a kernel panic for the vanilla <<applehda.kext>>. Maybe because of the boot.plist.entry?

I lost bluetooth. No, not really. Its still there. But, ahmmmm its not recocnised by os x anymore. A new broadcom plugin is in the iobluetoothfamily.kext. I went back to the 10.5.8 bluetooth.kext.

The Screenbrightness is working with --saabers-- kext and going to max after boot.

goto: rapidshare.com/files/264410510/IOBluetoothFamily.kext.zip.html

Well, there is still one thing, mmmh (i need a 256GB SSD from Intel, 8GB of RAM, a svga+ panel with fingerprintreader...)

aaahhh, exactly: my internal bluetooth in the x61tablet was disabled in windows os (fn + f5). i fired up "ubuntu 9.0.4 desktop" and boom it was back. by the way. it took me half a year to have all features in os x working, and ubuntu did it in 20 secs. Screenbrightness (fn + pos1) and standby and UMTS Modem and Wireless.... ;)

This kext is not good for system updating and kext managing.

Why don't you put the legacy bluetooth kext in /Extra or EFI partition's Extra/Extensions only ?

If does, you didn't have to reinstall any kext.

:/ i've tried everything from this topic to run my keyboard and trackpoint :/ what should i do, step after step"??what should i put on i options during the instalation (what patches x86 and other)???

Thank you very much for all answers

EDIT:

after endinstallation i see the same screen as during normall macOS loading- and there are some weel, which moves -should i wait to and? i wait 40 minuts, and all the time there was the same :/

EDIT2:

itook voodoo drivers to PS2 and now my keyboard work-but notgood o_O during password writing it writes something not not normal o_O i don't know what should i do :/

hey guys,

for myself, using the internal mic was still pain, because it was unamplified.

With an older applehda.kext from 10.5.3 systemupdate, these troubles are away.

One guy here, in this thread posted a legacy kext for E/E folder, named "ad1984fix.kext".

In combination of the known "EFI-String" + "ad1984fix.kext" (in E/E) + and 10.5.3. applehda.kext (in S/L/E) the internal mic can be adjusted. (Tested on a X61 Tablet "late 2008").

**edit**

I tested the bluetooth file for the E/E folder from --sabber-- and it works great. Thanks. For my Atheros W-LAN MiniPCIe adapter would a legacy kext great, for the apple1650serial.kext too. Does anyone knows how to build such "legacy" kexts?

Has anyone testet snow-leo on the X61 Tablet yet?

In combination of the known "EFI-String" + "ad1984fix.kext" (in E/E) + and 10.5.3. applehda.kext (in S/L/E) the internal mic can be adjusted. (Tested on a X61 Tablet "late 2008").

Ad1984fix.kext is a file made for origin AppleHDA.kext. The content is those different between Ogininal AppleHDA and the pin-configured AppleHDA. So you have to choose one file between "AD1984fix.kext" and "AppleHDA"(pin-configured), and use EFI-String to load them.

The only problem about AD1984.kext is, because the newest AppleHDA's is something different with the old one, the Line-IN mic didn't work.

Methods about audio:

1. EFI-string + installed AppleHDA.kext

2. EFI-string + AD1984fix.kext (put it in Extra/Extension, and made a mkext)

3. VoodooHDA only (some problem happened after sleep)

Hi everyone.

I have tracked this thread for rather long and was trying to make my laptop to be more OSX compatible.

My machine is Thinkpad x61, non-tablet (7674-4NG), T7300 (2GHz), GMA x3100, Sound - AD1984, Wireless - Intel 4965.

I have iDeneb 1,4 (10.5.6) installed, further updated to 10.5.7, and then to 10.5.8, all through native update utility.

With the help of all of you I finally have the following things working on my laptop:

Display: yes, I now have the screen brightness control, using the modified AppleIntelGMAX3100FB.kext, EFI string, and DSDT.aml in root.

Sound: At first I tried VoodooHDA, but it has problems with waking from sleep, but even using the trick with sleepwatcher does not make it work nicely. Now I use modified AppleHDA.kext and EFI string and for the moment happy with it.

Sleep: sleep works good in 10.5.8 with SleepEnabler.kext but Ethernet does not connect after wake up. Deep sleep (hibernate) is still something unachievable for me:)

Speedstep: At the moment I use VoodooPowermini.kext. It seems to speedstep my CPU properly, but it has problems with right FSB value reading - reads 181 MHz instead of 200 MHz. SMbios override does not help. GenericCpuPowerManagementControl kext reads right FSB speed with SMbios override, but it uses wrong CPU voltage parameters (lower than spec).

So I do not know what to choose.

Wireless: I think I will buy a USB WiFi dongle, as this is a company lapbook and hardware modifications are not appreciated (as well as software modifications ;-))

So as a start, I'm for the time being happy with my Hacbook. The bad thing is that I still have to use MS Windows at work because of corporate policy and software, but enjoy osx at home.

Really thinking about buying a MacBook.

Hi,

I have a Thinkpad T61 with mostly same components as X61. I want to share that the X3100+Audio EFI plist posted in the Brightness Pack doesn't play nice with sleep in 10.5.8. Once you wake from sleep, you'll lose display. To get around this issue, I used the Natit.kext instead of the X3100 EFI string. This gave me back video after sleep. To get audio+headphones working again, I only applied the audio EFI string. I don't know if my experience on T61+10.5.8 will be mirrored on X61, but if you observe a similar problem with no display after sleep, then try my method.

I have managed to install Snow Leopard on my X61s.

Works almost as good as 10.5, but the battery meter / power settings are not working anymore. If somebody decides to install SL let me know if you have a solution to this.

No sleep, too.

I've made a guide on how to install Snow Leopard on X61, look here:

I tried SL myself, and it was just constant kernel panics for me. I'll probably look at it later when I have some more time. :blink: I did get the power meter to work just fine with Superhai's VoodooBattery.kext.

that smbios.plist worked for me on 10.5.6 :

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

<!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">

<plist version="1.0">

<dict>

<key>SMexternalclock</key>

<string>200</string>

<key>SMmaximalclock</key>

<string>1600</string>

</dict>

</plist>

made a fresh install with ideneb 10.5.8 lite, i had everything back but i can't have good fsb reading, smbios.plist mod doesn't seem to work... cpu-x tells me multiplier is "0" and freq goes from 532 to 1418 mhz...

i also noticed that some kext won't load under /extra but need to be in /s/l/e : for instance le appleintelgmax3100FB.kext allowing brightness control won't load under /extra...

I have the same problem with FSB reading (from 10.5.7 and up, also with Snow Leopard). The freq goes from 532 to 1418 because you have VoodooPower installed.

Even with VoodooPower I get terrible battery time, between 4-5 hours, comparing to Windows XP where I get about 8 hours (same LCD settings, same usage type).
