My friend, i'm not totally sure, but i read that osx86 (10.4.1) had troubles with ATI video cards, maybe 10.4.3 also have them. You told me than you used that DVD (10.4.3) to install in other pc and worked fine, does that pc has an ATI card ?.

I ran into the same problem trying to boot from the Darwin CD on a Toshiba Satellite A65. If you press F8, you'll see the Darwin boot menu come up, but it doesn't detect hard disks or cdrom, only the ethernet.

I got 10.4.5 running this way:

1) Removed the hard drive form the laptop

2) Installed the hard drive in a USB disk cage (about $10 on ebay)

3) COnnected the hard drive to another computer which could boot from USB drives

4) In windows, deleted partitions, then used diskpart to make 1 big hfs partition and set active

5) Booted from the installation DVD, installed on the USB drive

6) Took hard drive out of USB cage and reinstalled in the toshiba laptop

7) Boots up 10.4.5 just fine. Detects wireless and wired network. Unfortunately, I'm still getting the generic ATA driver, so hard disk access is TOO SLOW. No sound yet.
