Hi Everyone,

excuse me for posting this in here if its not the right thread.

I'm quite new to this whole pc to mac thing, but i am willing to try it. I currently have a Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 motherboard, and i am about to buy the Intel Core 2 Quad Extreme QX6850 3Ghz Socket 775, 1333 MHz FSB, 8MB Cache and upgrade my current CPU.

I am wondering whether the CPU will work okay with 10.4 tiger? Also i am only using this computer for music production using Cubase sx 3 and Pro Tools and sometimes do some video editing using adobe premier cs3.

I have a digideisgn digi 002 rack, which is essentially my outboard audio interface unit. If i get the mac os x to work, i thought i would also load on logic pro 7 and use this in conjunction with the audio card. The audio card connects to the computer via Firewire. I am wondering if i get this mac os x software to work, if it will be possible to hook up my digi design 002 rack and use it with logic pro 7 and i am wondering if anyone here has done a similar thing?

Davies

I think that will do fine. Try to get the latest version of Tiger that you can find (latest is 10.4.11), in case your software requires it. You can also browse the WIKI to find out more about hardware compatibility: http://wiki.osx86project.org/

Welcome to the forum,

PS: If I can give you a tip, don't try to install Windows and OSX on the same hard drive if you're a beginner. That'll save you the hassle of having to install a mutliboot manager (you can figure that out later).

yeah i'll be sure to load os x tiger onto a different HD. I have already got 1TB in my computer and i am going to get another 500GB just for the mac os x etc. At the moment all i need is a Serial ATA DVD drive, as i have read through the guide for my motherboard and it looks easier if you do have a SATA DVD drive.
