Thanks MacGirl for our guide, very helpful. There's still one problem, I can't get any scroll areas working with my m1330. If someone knows how to fix this, i'd be very grateful.

cheers

Scroll areas don't work, instead use 2-finger scroll (well is more like 1 finger scroll).

Hello,

I've understood why I don't have bluetooth on my lappy.

In fact, it's not because of the bluetooth, but because of the USB. Indeed, I've lost USB controller, I mean that when I plug something into an usb port, nothing happen (whereas in 10.5.1 it works). As bluetooth is plugged into a usb port (internal usb port I think), it's not recognized

Do you have any idea to resolve my problem?

from Kalyway or iATKOS extract the USB kexts with Pacifist.

I have the same mouse, try pairing it as "other device".

Or connect its dongle, pair it with their buttons, then unplug the dongle and pair it again with "Bluetooth Setup Assistant".

hello,

I've succeded to connect my mouse to my computer (without pairing it because it doesn't work!)

Furthermore, I've done a keyboard.layout in AZERTY for vostro 1700 keypad. So you may use it if you are azerty and if you are qwerty, you need just to do small changes with ukulele.

I've put in the archive 2 files found on the internet to set the "home" and "end" keys working as on windows (i.e Home bring you to the beginning of the line, end to the end of the line)

There are 2 files for the keyfixer because firefox needs the second file to be patched

Hope it helps you

Now, I've a new problem:

I cannot access to "mouse and keypad" in system preferences. It stays loading indefinitely and never loads!

Do you know why?

Thanks

My M1330 fan seems to run all the time whenever I use Leopard. Is it normal for most of you guys? Are you guys having the same thing?

Not for me, it runs very high when I have > 60 Celcius degrees on any of the cores

Install Temerature Monitor and see your values.

@yeye, maybe the preference pane is corrupted, replace it at /System/Library/PreferencePanes

you're my god macgirl!

thanks for your help

Now, I'll continue to improve my laptop and I'd like to know if it was possible to set the dell media direct button for launching MAC OS X and the normal button for launching vista

I know it's maybe imposible but I'd like to be sure...

Hi guys,

I am reading your forum since a long time and started with mac os x86 at my old notebook and 10.4 times.

As I have a lot of apple computers avail the whole day I stopped further investigations to my things done in the past.

Today I really need one at home for the next times!

Now you will may ask you why I want to OSX86 if I have macs all day at work :D

I dont have the money to by me one and I need Aperture a lot of times.

So lets come to my issue.

I had enough money to get myself an Inspiron 1520 with 2gb Ram, Core 2 DUO 1.8 T7100 and Geforce 8600m GT.

I bought this one as i thought the config is "like" a mac book pro.

Now I want to install OSX 10.5 by Using iATKOS v1.0.

I tried it a lot of times during the last days and I dont get it working like I need it.

I started with original iATKOS v1.0 and followed the available guides out their by formating the disk make set it active and erase as hfs extended journaled.

than run darwin installer from utilities and went through the install process

-> what I got is blinking cursor

-> i tried to set the partition to boot flag with gparted -> same issue

-> set it again to active using terminal from dvd -> same issue

Next TRY:

iATKOS v1.0 r2

partition is active -> check

erased with disk utility to hfs extended journaled -> check

now i installed it with broadcom driver and darwin efi bootloader -> i get hfs+ partition error or blinking curser

-> if i install it leaving the darwin efi bootloader unchecked and use usual darwin bootloader + broadcom 440x i can boot -> yehaa

now i see that i dont have CI/QE

downloaded the nvinject and run it -> restart -> blinking cursor or stoping at spinning wheel

-> how do i get this running?

-> what packages should I choose during install?

my hdd is partitioning:

one hdd -> disk0

partition 0: dell Fat16 117 MB

partition 1: NTFS Vista

partition 2: HFS Extended Journaled

If I have to erase it and loose vista its no problem but i have to know if i can get the unit back to dell default if anything goes wrong.

has someone else had those issues and how did you solve it?

Please help me I really need Aperture and want to run it on my dell as i dont have the chance to get a mac from work :(

Sure, you need to adjust the OSBundleLibraries in the AppleACPIPowerSource.kext (plugin of AppleACPIPlatform.kext)

OSBundleLibraries

com.apple.driver.AppleACPIPlatform

x.x.x

com.apple.iokit.IOACPIFamily

x.x.x

See first post, it is in the guide and also a PowerSource kext already for Vanilla AppleACPIPlatform

But the question is, why am i getting sleep, and you guys aren't... I have no idea. I think its that i used kalyway...anyways does anyones Shutdown/Reboot work with the new kernel, because it doesnt for mine.

hi everybody, i've searched around the forum but didn't find any answer so here i go :

I have a conference in some days, and i wanted to check if the external display would work for a slideshow using the vga plug. But when i tried with a classic computer display, it dodn't work, the screen turn off on the laptop but don't turn on for the computer display. I'm using the 0.33 installer with 10.5.2

Any info about that ? has anyone succeeded to make it work on the vga, and with which driver ? thanks in advance for the answer.

Sorry to bother, but i have a real problem here : i want to use my vga port for a conference with a slideshow, and i can't succeed to make it work, although i tried to instal the derivers (nvinject or nvinject go, with final 0.33 kext) and even tried to change nvcap values, but can't figure out why is this non-working. Each time i plug the external display i have at home, and i ask to detect display, my internal screen just goes black and my external don't turn up either.

So i was wondering if any of you had succedded to make it work on the dell xps m1330 with 8400m GS card, and if yes with which nvcap value or other drivers ?

thanks in advance and sorry to bother again, but this is a big problem if i can't come to make it work before tuesday.

Hi,

I about to pull he trigger and buy a Inspiron 1720 so I can keep Windows on one hdd and install OSX on the other one. My question is does anyone know if I choose the internal Sound Blaster HD Audigy over the standard HD Audio would it work OOB or with a kext install? Also does the Dell 1395 b/g wireless card work?

Thanks for any and all help.

BUY A MAC!!!!!!!!! I REGRET NOT BUYING ONE!

Anyways, the HD Audigy is just a driver... its "Software addition", no added hardware, just software... a waste of money on my previous m1210.

why do you regret not buying a mac. The m1330 has macbook pro specs but smaller and cheaper than a regular macbook. If you based that conclusion just on the fact of OSX compatibility, why did you buy a regular laptop in the first place..

Mac's are good looking, they work... my computer with OS X is always crashing, or not working.. due to it not being a real mac.... If I had a Mac, I would have a perfect laptop.
