bsod
I'm trying to get sleep working on my m1330 that I have used boot132 method on using this method http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=128274 . I have installed the Superhai kexts (tried on the boot132 partition and on the system partition) with no luck. I was able to get it to work with his kexts using the iAtkos installer but wanted a more vanilla system. has anyone who's installed using boot132 been able to get sleep working on their m1330? any help would be awesome
macgirl
Hi, i had install a retail version on my xps m1330. It works all fine but i have the following problem: In my system profile i have a Firewire Bus but if i connect a video camera or a a external hdd nothing is going on. I can´t use them. Have anybody else these problems and/or know how i can fix this? sry if the english is bad You can only connect FireWire deices that are self powered or external power connected, because the mini firewire does not provide power. I connected my iSight camera and didn't work because it needs power from the firewire, I connected another Mac and I could transfer files via FW networking. bsod
What specifically about sleep is not working? It never actually goes to sleep, when you try to go to sleep or deep sleep, it thinks about it for a minute or so then the hard drive clicks like it does right before a successful sleep and then the power led stays on and the display remains off. when it succesfully went to sleep (when i used iatkos not boot132) the power led would start to pulse and the power button would turn off. all of superhai's kexts (and the info.plist edit) seem to be done and loading correctly, i'm not sure what else to try

You can see if they are loaded in System Profiler or with kextstat command in terminal
dmk
This may be a stupid question, but maybe someone can help. My Dell 1390 wireless worked fine before the airport update, but now went bye bye. Anyone know what kext(s) I need to replace to get my WiFi back? Previously I had run the wireless fix from the Dell update pack but I don't think that works anymore now that I have done this update.

who am i
... All, I have had a pretty strange experience (detailed below) I had successfull running Leopard 10.5.2 on my DELL XPS M1530 laptop for quite a while like a charm with al the devices working perfectly except Wireless and Ethernet (I've Intell 3945 A/B/G wireless card and Marvell Yukon ethernet card, The required drivers (.Kext) are not available for either of them.) A big thanks to all who has supplied their guides and shared their experience. I used a External USB Harddrive to install the Leopard and changed the BIOS boot sequence to boot from USB drive before internal Harddrive. Using this approach, I managed to have windows vista as well as Leopard running (Leopard from USB Drive and Vista from Internal Hard Drive) Moreover, Leopard was able to detect the Internal harddrive (NTFS partition) and i could see the contents. however I never tried to perform any Read/Write action on internal harddrive via Leopard. (I had another partitions on my USB drive where i used to store all Leopard related stuff (FAT32 & Leopard compatible extended partition) Hence technically Laptop's internal hard drive was not in use at all Now the strange experience is .. after using it for a while I had my laptop crashed with following things.. 1) Hard drive 2) Memory Well, I believe that, running OSx on non-apple H/W like Dell's would not currupt or damage the hardware, but it has happened to me. I'm not sure what caused this to happen. My question is .. Has it really got damaged b'coz of running Leopard ? I now have replaced the Memory and HardDrive and got the Vista running back but a slight concerned to try again Leopard (the way i was running it lately) any ideas/thoughts are welcome... AngelusDark9
Hi, I successfully installed OS X leopard iAtkos 4i on a M1530. Thanks to your post I bought the Dell True Mobile 1505 Draft N and works great. I will be waiting for the ShutDown Restart and Sleep Fix. Thanks for All!!!! wingrunr21
is 0 the right mode to do? That or mode 3. Mode 0 is traditional sleep. Mode 3 is "safe sleep". Safe sleep will only work with netkas's new Chameleon patches and at the moment they don't seem to be working properly. So in short, yes 0 is correct. I will be waiting for the ShutDown Restart and Sleep Fix. Sleep fix: http://www.superhai.com/darwin.html Take a look at EHCISleepEnabler.kext

wingrunr21
I was trying to do the sleep fix but I cant save the file and I add the file to write and read with my account but I cant save it. Why? Drag the Info.plist to your desktop. Open it up and edit it. Now drag the edited file on your desktop back into the folder. OS X will ask for your password. Type it in and you should be done. Urthwhyte
Any suggestions on which Speedstep App to use? I see there is both Superhai's and one other. Also, is it required to have the application running or will the kext do its job and the app just to monitor it? Furthermore, does it interface at all with the various OSX power modes so that Energy Savings will keep it throttled and Normal act like the balanced mode in Vista? Edit: For some reason the GenericCPUPowerManagemenControl App now reports that its' connection with the kernel extension was lost. I've tried reinstalling, repairing disk permissions, etc... Any suggetions?
vect0r
I hope one day I can use sleep on a speedstep Kernel. Speedstep is something I don't want to live without - it keeps my laptop nice and cool when I'm using it for basic tasks. If I'm at a Coffee shop running on battery, I want it to last more than 45 minutes. Sleep sure would be nice though, but more importantly, proper shutdown/restart. I'm still not sure what about the nvidia drivers are stopping shutdown/restart, since my desktop that had an NVidia graphics card never ran into that issue. You don't actually need to be running a Speedstep kernel anymore, now you can use the Vanilla 10.5.5 kernel and run Superhai's EHCISleepEnabler and GenericCPUManagement kexts and get both of the features you wanted. On another note, is there still no progress on getting the internal microphone on the m1530/m1330 working? I thought I saw someone had it all fixed up on a Vostro but I may've been mistaken. talisman
For Audio on M1530 use the attached kext. Really, it is easy to find it if you do a serious search but Ill attach it anyways. Int Speakers, mic jack and Headphones working. Mic not working. I have the nodes figured out for the int mic and can also get the system to recognize it but can't get it to work. I am attaching the pin map diagram built using codecgraph . The correct pin layout (I think so!!) is 8 28 19. If anyone gets ideas itll be nice... Anyone confirm crackling of int speakers in M1530 with 10.5.5, Vanilla 9.5.0 and Generic CPUPowerManagement.kext ??? And has anyone's clock been running slow after installing GenericCPUPowerManagement.kext ??? Note: This kext does not have the updated Info.plist with the attempted int mic fix. Should have specified that earlier. Sorry about that. AppleHDA.kext.STAC9228.M1530.zip
