rdougan
I have just done a fresh install of OS X. I just updated to 10.5.5 and installed Superhai's EHCISleepEnabler. I can't sleep. I know this is not a hardware issue since between fresh installs I installed Vista to test sleep. Vista sleeps/hibernates successfully. This must be an OS X issue. Is anyone going to post the information I asked for? I cannot get sleep to work on 10.5.5 either (iDeneb 1.3) whereas on 10.5.4 (iDeneb 1.1) it worked fine. Well, it broke USB drives.. overshoot
Hello All, I come to the news... From what i've done for installing my Xps 1530 hackintosh, i'm still having some problems that i really want to solve. So i want to know if some of you had resolved following issues on Xps 1530 : - Sound was installed from the last Sonotone package and works after the sleep trick. - trackpad/internal keyboard/external mouse, jumps very often and i can see some logs that prooves it : kernel ApplePS2Mouse: Unexpected data from PS/2 controller. - shutdown does not work. every thing looks stopped but the blue light from the front is powered. I know that there is, yet, no way to restart but i thought shutdown was working with the right AppleHDA kext. Apparently not... Also, if some of you are good Developpers, here is a project you can help for giving us the way to use our internal network adapter : http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...pid=921433& Thanks in advance for your answers. gosunsgo
Hi Overshoot, I too have an XPS 1530. Video: works with QE/CI using NVinject in S/L/E directory (8600m GT 256Mb) If i use EFI strings i lose QE/CI Sound: works with AppleHDA in /S/L/E from Macgirl (I know she has an xps 1330 but apperently it is the same) Only one headphone jack works. Mic not tested yet These 2 kext above are the only one placed in/S/L/E. All the other kext (Superhai's, dsmos ApplePS2 etc..) are placed in the hidden EFI partition using Munky method. Trying to be as vanilla as possible!!! Shutdown: Same thing as you (Many people think is related to NVinject. If i move NVinject to the EFI partition i lose QE/CI) Sleep: Works flawlessly Trackpad: does jump only slightly when i come back from sleep but it starts working good in 1-2 minutes WIFI: perfect (changed adapter) If someone else has a solution for the remaining issues i am all ears. feckmunkeh
So I had my first go at hackintoshing my M1330 (1.5GHz T5250 C2D) with iDeneb v1.3, and the bootloader hung early on at the IOACPI stage. From searching around I don't seem to be alone and there doesn't seem to be any solution yet (other than going to an older version). Just posting it up here for anyone else struggling, hoping to find a solution soon!
bsod
I am on a m1330 trying to get sleep working. I have installed EHCISleepEnabler from superhai's site and edited IOUSBFamily.kext as stated in the readme but I am still getting this at boot. I had been using iAtkos but wanted a more vanilla sys. I have finally gotten everything working again on the new boot132 method disc but I can't seem to get sleep working. For some reason, I remember having to delete a kext when I successfully got it working on the iAtkos install but I cannot remember what I did. Any help would be greatly appreciated. dagrimripper
hi again all i've been trying over and over to get my sound running with iatkos 2.0i - i used the PostInstaller - but instead of making it work, it made things worse - now i get an error message every time i boot. also, i've discovered that reboot and shut down don't work, neither does sleep, that's why i've decided to go with a clean install of os x. since the first time i did it i was in total darkness with the subject, i went along with whatever worked for me. but now i want to install the most well adjusted build that can work for my system - dell inspiron 1720, geforce 8600 gt - 256mb. I would be eternally in debt to you if you could point me towards the best version and kernel, etc, that i can install on my laptop so that the basic functions will work: graphic, sound, wireless, lan, shut down, reboot, battery meter. And please try to be specific because, as i said, i stink at finding things on my own and the taste i've had of os x left me with wanting more thanks again guys

wingrunr21
I have been unable to get sleep working on my 1330 and cannot find any reason why. I just finished wiping my hard drive. I have decided to go back to Gentoo instead of Vista since I quite frankly can't stand Vista on this laptop. I have attached the iso that I used to install retail OS X on my 1330. I'll keep monitoring this thread for those who have questions. I'll also eventually update my tutorial thread for a retail install and 10.5.5 (I'm rather busy at the moment). joengos
Hi everyone, Problem : No wireless network recognized. I have a Dell Vostro 1400. Now has dual boot iatkos v4i (10.5.4) and vista. I faced the same problem as mentioned in the original post. The built in wired Ethernet and wireless do not work. Bought myself a USB wirelesss WiFi adapter from Planex that used ZyDas1211 chipset but face some problem. What I did. 1. I installed the kext provided by links from this thread. 2. After rebooting the system, I opened Preferences-Network and a new Ethernet adapter was found. I used DHCP with manual - add the necessary IP. 3. I started the ZyDas WLAN utility and scan for wireless access points. Unfortunately no access points are listed/recognized despite there were at least 3 around the office. It just stay empty even after leaving it running for a couple of hours. Thinking the installation was corrupted, I tried to reinstall the kext, even reinstall the OS again but to no avail. 4. Playing around, I tried using the ifconfig at terminal. It listed the loopback and "en0" for the new Ethernet. However, NO IP address is printed despite being configured using the Network Panel earlier. 5. Run the command ifconfig en0 192.168.1.101 netmask 255.255.255.0 to set the IP and press Refresh/Scan at the ZyDas WLAN utility. Wait a minute and Voila! it recognized all the wireless access points. 6. I connected to a wireless network, ping a computer - works. 7. My problem is I still cannot connect to internet since any changes I did at Network Panel DOES NOT have any effect. I need to configure the default gateway, the DNS, etc but I dont know any UNIX/Darwin command to do that. Appreciate any assistance. Regards Joe. Hi Joe, To add the default Gateway, just type : #sudo route add -net 0.0.0.0 your_gateway_ip To add the dns, edit the /etc/resolv.conf with "vi" as root by doing : #sudo vi /etc/resolv.conf and add the 2 next lines : nameserver your_secondary_dns_ip nameserver your_primary_dns_ip Finished. (Replace italic/underline words with the good ip address...) I must say that you could use an old IONetworkingFamily kext to solve the Gui issue but that is my opinion. Also, after executing those lines, you will probably need to reboot your system as Dns server are refreshed sometimes... Good luck.

oniq
I just wanted to thank all the contributors to the forum.. you were all there with me last night when I battled my first OSX86 install on my Dell XPS M1530. Overall, it was a smooth ride. Still have to check a few things and get sound working, but looks great and is very snappy. The Dell Laptops Post-Installer was very helpful. Main pitfall I ran into was an error I was encountering on boot (using -v) I was able to see the error, rather than just a circle with a line through it. "Still waiting for root device". To overcome this, I went into BIOS settings and changed hard drive from ACHI to SATA. This evening it will be fine tuning things and making sure I can get sound working. Ran iATKOS v4.1i (10.5.4)

chris512
Hi, I'm trying to install Retail Leopard onto my Dell XPS 1530 with the Boot 132 cd. It starts to load the Initrd.img and then stops halfway through the third line of dots. It flashes up something like " system conf file / preferences / systemconfiguration / com.apple.boot.plist not found It flashes up really fast so this might not be 100% accurate...... This is strange as the boot disk works on my home machine just fine. I've tried every cd I can find on this forum and they all do the same thing. Can anyone help me please? Thanks in advance......
