chopsueysensei
Apply the LeopardGraphicsUpdate using Pacifist. Btw, I applied this graphics update using Pacifist as described somewhere and it screwed up my graphics completely. Since everything I did was 'install to default location' inside Pacifist, how's that different from doing it the standard way (i.e: double clicking on the package)? Somebody knows a way I can get back to my previous state without having to restore the whole partition?

I just put back the old nvidia kext and my screen went black and white, sort of Labyrinth picture, but i was able to see some stuff moving as start some apps with quicksilver... I decided to use the new kext and for now, no qe/ci with an efi string. I waiting for news from Gurus or Sage... Thanks in advance.
Ray2Jerry
OK, so I did a fresh re-install from Kalyway DVD 10.5.2 with the Vanilla kernel (believing that using a modded kernel could be why my last attempt at upgrading to 10.5.5 failed) with no dice. It froze again at around 23% of the update and errored out to that awesome gray "please hold power button" screen So I would definitely advise against updating to 10.5.5 unless you installed from an original retail DVD, which is reported to work (and that I also looked into and found the boot-132 procedure a bit more complicated than I'm willing to do right now only to install 10.5.5, not to mention lacking a blank dual-layer DVD to burn to). 10.5.4 works just fine and I don't really see any reason to struggle to put in 10.5.5 right now. Maybe there will be a Kalyway update for it anyway? Thought I'd share my experience for those who might go through the same! If anyone has any further input on why this didn't work or an easier way to get it to, please do chime in rAy

The only thing you have to take care of is deleting the AppleIntelCPUPowermanagement kext as soon as it is written on your disk. (also dsmos kext) If not it is loaded by the install script and that's what cause your kernel panic... Updates are safe for intel sse3 with intel chipsets. Just backup your specific kext and replace them after update. Not so complicated...
wingrunr21
i have dell xps m1330 i am using leo4all v2 my bluetooth is not being dectected in system profile...my bluetooth model is BCM92045MD .is there any drivers for this model..anyone know where i can find drivers or how to fix it? It should be natively supported. Check the Console for errors regarding bluetooth. Console is an Application in Utilities. The other thing is you may have disabled it in Windows. There is a software switch that disables the module. You'll need to boot into Windows to re-enable it. Finally, I know this is dumb but, ensure your wireless switch on the right hand side of the machine is on. Btw, I applied this graphics update using Pacifist as described somewhere and it screwed up my graphics completely. You cannot double click the package because it will tell you that your computer is not authorized to install this update. Are you using EFI strings? The only reason to reinstall the Leopard Graphics Update via Pacifist is if you use EFI strings. Otherwise you need to update/downgrade whatever injector you are using. So I would definitely advise against updating to 10.5.5 unless you installed from an original retail DVD, which is reported to work (and that I also looked into and found the boot-132 procedure a bit more complicated than I'm willing to do right now only to install 10.5.5, not to mention lacking a blank dual-layer DVD to burn to). You don't need a dual layer DVD just a CD and a retail disk. Also, 10.5.5. does work in retail because that's what I'm running right now.

Graphics update updated the video kexts to the 10.5.2 versions way back in the 10.5.2 days. The 10.5.5 update brings along the 10.5.5 video kexts. These kexts, for some reason, will not give QE/CI support when using EFI Strings (plus, according to macgirl, they don't perform as well either). Thus you need to downgrade to the 10.5.2 video kexts for QE/CI to work. Here are the steps: Download the LeopardGraphicsUpdate from Apple http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/leo...csupdate10.html If you have not, download and install Pacifist http://www.charlessoft.com/ Open Pacifist and, from within Pacifist, open the LeopardGraphicsUpdate package Right click on the package in Pacifist and choose "Install to Default Location". Make sure "Use Administrator Privelages" is checked If it asks you if you want to replace stuff, click yes and replace it. Clear your extensions cache in whatever way you see fit. Repairs permissions just to be safe in whatever way you see fit. Reboot and check System Profiler. QE/CI should be enabled. Note: You CANNOT just run the LeopardGraphicsUpdate on its own. It will tell you that your system is not authorized to install it. You MUST USE PACIFIST. Do NOT extract the kexts using Pacifist. INSTALL using Pacifist. haccord
Hello, I’m currently using an m1530 and I would like to know how to dual boot in a Guid Partition. I tried previously without any success. I have vista x64 sp1 and Iatkos 4i. Now I’m running both on MBR using devilhood guide but I would like to have a Guid Partition to be able to run in EFI V8. And I heard that Guid partition is a bit faster than MBR and easier for resizing partition. By the way, I want to say thanks you all ! you make great work ! Your answers will be greatly appreciate. Thanks in advance and best regards,

macgirl
Don't know how ro why but I lost QE/CI after serverals tries of diferent combinations of NVidia (Geforce and NVDA) kexts I no loger have QE/CI, strange is that even without QE/CI I could sleep and change resolutions. I tried several times to reinstall Leopard Graphics Update 1.0 but same result. Since 10.5.4 has not new Nvidia kexts, my lastest working kexst wre all 10.5.3 Nvidia Kexts but these form 10.5.2: Geforce.kext, GeForce8xxxGLDriver.bundle and GeForceFXGLDriver.bundle What other kext could be responsible of QE/CI ? Or what could modify something that prevents QE/CI ?

Or what could modify something that prevents QE/CI ? My first guess would be to delete all kext that are present in the Graphic Update from your HD. It could be possible that new files are still in and could cause the driver to fail loading as an install only replace existing files and do not erase differents files. Also, it could solve a permission problem but i'm sure you did verify that more than once. Also, another Geforce**** kext could be loading before the good ones which blocks these. You need to try but, take care, make backups. I don't want to be the one who breaks the MacGirl Install...

Also with sleep, do you know of a solution for when the hackintosh goes to sleep but doesn't wake? I've checked all of the relevant threads here and have come up with zilch so far. macgirl
Thre is no other way than Pacifist. Did I intalled on default location? Yes an no, There is no difference between hitting the install button and select -> control click -> Install on default location (at least for this package) but just for sake I didt it, no difference. I also kept old kexts in separate folders since 10.5.1, so I got 10.5.2 and 10.5.3 since prior to 10.5.2 there are no working drivers for the 8400 (and others) as also there is no new Nvidia kexts on 10.5.4, so I installed with pacifist and manually on Terminal, no difference, The first changes I made I rplace the OpenGL framwork and GLEngine but OGL fps has no difference. I never ecountered no wake from sleep on vanilla kernel, well even non vanilla kernel wakes but screen didn't.
Chrysaor
I am using all up-to-date 10.5.5 NV kexts and OGL.framework. QE/CI works fine, performance is better than before, HDMI/VGA works etc. Don't mix and match kexts from different versions, it decreases performance. The thing is that I have sleep and Resolution change with either efi strings or injectors, so the problem is not at the "injector" level because somehow I have some features. I am reinstaling 10.5.4, then I will make a new partition for tests. wingrunr21 keep in mind that Chrysaor has a M1530 not a M1330, so the graphics card are different. I used your string in OSX86Tools for the graphics and then Pacifist/Leopard Graphics Update trick and it works. Sound works too...using it with SoundSource. Speedstep GUI is working with tux's kext as well... upgraded from 10.5.4 iatkos to 10.5.5 update-> reinstall kexts. and finally it's working good. Using vanilla. I also cannot get sleep to work. The machine sleeps fine but wakes probably 1 in 20 times. The Console logs don't have anything in them that give a clue why it is happening. macgirl, yes I'm aware he has a different card but as far as I knew NONE of the injectors worked with ANY nvidia card on the 10.5.5 kexts.
