wingrunr21
kokoro, I don't have sleep working. Never needed it so haven't bothered troubleshooting it. If sleep is a requirement to get sound working correctly I may rethink though. At the moment putting the lappy to sleep just reboots it. You probably need to install Superhai's EHCISleepEnabler
dantastic
I have tried Superhai's EHCISleepEnabler but it broke my keyboard, or if it was mu mouse, can't remember. it wasn't good anyway. I really don't care too much about sleep though.... I could maybe give that a go again though. That should work on an xps m1530, yea?

macgirl
Using boot-132?
wingrunr21
Ya, macgirl it works for me as well. I'm using a retail install with Boot-132 and your com.info.Boot.plist. I lost QE/CI. I'll probably have to reapply the Leopard Graphics Update to get it back. Sleep STILL does not work for me.

My xps 1530 is on the way and i was gathering info from your guide to make Leopard run smoothly (it works almost well on the Vostro 1700) but i see you are now using the boot 132 method. Is it worthy? Can you give us a quick howto? Thanks
macgirl
I'm trying to figure it out which kext, last time I restored from 10.5.2 (or Graphics Update 1): Geforce.kext GeForce8xxxGLDriver.bundle GeForceFXGLDriver.bundle

kossi
I was actualy posting about that here the link: http://www.psystar.com/open_source.html Doesn't work for me. Does it for you? @Macgirl: Any speed improvements apart from the leo graphics updater 1.0 method with any of the new kexts (10.5.3, 10.5.4 or 10.5.5)? I always did it with the graphics update. kossi
wingrunr21
That psystar thing doesn't work for me either. For those of you with a XPS 1330 who have sleep working with EFI Strings for graphics and sound (meaning you don't use any injectors just AppleHDA and the GeForce kexts), would you please post the output of the following commands for me to compare to mine? Thanks! Commands: pmset -g kextstat

overshoot
one9092002, You need to add the AppleACPIPS2Nub kext into your extension folder.
Ray2Jerry
Hey all! I have my m1530 running OSX 10.5.4 beautifully (other than that minor sleep/restart/shutdown issue) and saw that 10.5.5 was released. I upgraded 10.5.3 to 10.5.4 using the Update utility in OSX itself, it worked fine other than having to re-install some Extensions that were over-written. My question is, if I back up my 'Library' folder and restore it after upgrading to 10.5.5 will it restore everything back with the right files (video, wireless, etc) that I have working great? I'm also a bit confused about what the 'boot 132' method is. I use the Darwin bootloader that was installed with the Kalyway release I used. What's the difference or can I just upgrade using the official combo update on the Apple site without problems? Thanks for all the help! rAy

If you do that there's little point in updating to 10.5.5 because you won't be able to use the benefits of the kexts Apple updated. Better is to backup the folder and selectively restore kexts. The boot-132 method allows for you to install OS X from a retail disk instead of using Kalyway, iAtkos, etc. Has anyone got CI/QE working on the m1330 or 8400M in 10.5.5 yet? when i reinstall the old geforce kexts i get some weird black and white lines fill the screen making it impossible to do anything.. Ray2Jerry
OK, so I downloaded the 10.5.5 combo update and attempted to install it, only to have it stop at about 21% and error out my system. A reboot didn't work and now I'll need to restore from a backup. So this was probably obvious to people who know Mac better, but don't try to update to 10.5.5 if you have used a Kalyway install updated to 10.5.4 I think I'm going to attempt to install using that boot-132 method after I read up on it a bit more and try to update that way. I'm mostly installing Mac on this to get to know the OS better, and what better way than screwing up a million times and having to reinstall everything again... after all that's how I got to know Windows so well lol. I'll let you know how it goes! Thanks for the replies, rAy
