pat174694921
^ Desiderio's AppleHDA.kext + ALCInject.kext = (Sigmatel 9228 on XPS M1330) "Internal Speakers" = Speakers + Sound through first headphone jack simultaneously "Headphones" = Sound through second headphone jack only "Internal Microphone" = Microphone jack only Sound works without having to use the reboot/sleep method. (You must not have HDAEnabler.kext or any Apple Azalia audio kexts installed for this to work.) thanks Lofn, i am still trying to get that working..... where should i put ALCinject.kext?? i put it in extension and it said installed improperly....thanks

ntcalkin
Okay Ive got the following machine Dell inspiron 1521 (similar to the 1520 it was just sold at best buy) AMD athlon x2 processor 2 GB Ram ati x1270 graphics 160gb hdd dell wireless card I downloaded the kalyway 10.5.2 iso and loaded it, after a little configuring with the bios (disabling legacy usb support) I was finally able to get the unit to install OSX...or so I thought. After reboot it now just hangs with the apple logo and the circle that keeps going around and around... any suggestions? Im downloading the iAtkos 4i and leo4allv3 - are those better solutions? wingrunr21
hi everyone. i have installed iatkos 4i and installed pkg's and kexts i see the volume icon. but sound does not come. any suggestions. This is a known issue. Try putting the machine asleep and waking it up. That usually will restore sound. hi sonotone, sorry for my English I have a question for the installation "retail Leopard". I have leopard 10.5.4 retail and I want to know if this version works or must lower a previous version and soon to update, since your you did not specify so that version this created "Bootable ISO Installer" and if it is necessary to use still "Extra Files Content" Do you have a 10.5.4 restore disk? I am not aware of any retail disks above 10.5.1. Anyway, that version should work find since sonotone's kexts work when 10.5.4 is installed to disk. I have read several posts about M15230 installs. I am using iatkos 4i and am unsure of which options customize for install any help would be greatly appreciated. I am on about my 10th attempt. Thanks. You don't have to choose any to customize the install. You could choose the vanilla (read Apple's unmodified) kernel and the vanilla SMBIOS. If you hard disks are in AHCI mode you will have to choose an option under hard disks otherwise that should be all you need. As for which option, you are going to have to use your best judgement. Boot in -v mode and see what it is hanging on. iAtkos 4 may also work better for you but you really need to boot in verbose mode regardless of the distribution to debug boot problems. ntcalkin
Okay i tried installing with kalyway 1 more time last night, and it looked as if it was going to work, then now I get a panic with a bunch of lettering and the following error :Mac os version: not yet set. dankasfuk
Hi Everyone, Working on an Inspiron 1420 here. Had everything working w/iAtkos v2, including sleep and wake using the stock 9.2 kernel. I have recently attempted an install of iAtkos 10.5.4, and cannot get sleep to work using the stock kernel. Has anyone had sucess with this distro, and if so how did you get sleep working? MiniBUU
MacGirl and anyone else that can help. I was wondering if there was a solution for the card reader. I know it that the card reader might/will require a kext to get it to work properly and wonder if anyone has taken on the challenge. I used osx86Tools and like everyone else the following shows up. 02:09.0 FireWire (IEEE 1394) [0c00]: Ricoh Co Ltd R5C832 IEEE 1394 Controller [1180:0832] (rev 05) 02:09.1 SD Host controller [0805]: Ricoh Co Ltd R5C822 SD/SDIO/MMC/MS/MSPro Host Adapter [1180:0822] (rev 22) 02:09.2 System peripheral [0880]: Ricoh Co Ltd Unknown device [1180:0843] (rev 12) 02:09.3 System peripheral [0880]: Ricoh Co Ltd R5C592 Memory Stick Bus Host Adapter [1180:0592] (rev 12) 02:09.4 System peripheral [0880]: Ricoh Co Ltd xD-Picture Card Controller [1180:0852] (rev 12) Whats funny is that my Firewire shows up and is recognized by mac os x and its the same company that made the card reader. So chances are we are all a kext away from having card reader support. I am not a programmer so I dont know how difficult it is to make a kext but is it possible? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Mike I have an inspiron 1420 too. I've installed iatkos v1.0r2 (i have an intel GMAX3100 video so v4 doesn't work). After that, i updated to 10.5.4 using kalyway combos to go from 10.5.1 to 10.5.2 and from 10.5.2 to 10.5.3, and using netkas method to update to 10.5.4, always with vainilla kernel (9.4.0 currently), i managed to get sleep working with some kexts from superhay: http://www.superhai.com/darwin.html (EHCISleepEnabler for sleep, ClamshellDisplay to sleep when lid closed, ACPIBattery.kext to get battery). Manually runned: sudo pmset -a hibernatemode 0 hibernatefile /dev/null (this is used if pc wont start after going to sleep) I've got speedstep working from here: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...mp;#entry845209 Always with apple stock kernel. Hopes it helps you. If u need more help, just pm me.

That card reader does not fully work in Linux/BSD yet so no there is no easy way to get it working in OS X yet. I was considering giving it an attempt once I finish my kext for the ethernet but we'll see.
straddy
Hi, I recently upgraded my CPU from a T7250 to a Penryn T8300 but on Mac OS X 10.5.4 my XBench CPU and GPU scores have dropped significantly. When I click About this Mac I see that processor registers as 2.4 Ghz Unknown, although under more info. it does say it is a T8300. Is there something I need to do to fix the clock speed for my T8300? I read something about adjusting SMBIOS, but need guidance. Thanks.

wingrunr21
So I am now running a retail install and I still have problems waking from sleep. Attached are the pastebins for a successful wakeup (happens perhaps 1 in 20) and a few unsuccessful ones. It appears that the vmmon kext associated with the VMWare Fusion 2 beta is having some effect, but there are no reported sleep problems on the forums. I am also running the Logitech Control Center v2.6 which does load a module. I know v2.4 gave sleep issues but 2.6 apparently fixes those problems. Successful wake: http://pastebin.com/m114dcf06 Unsuccessful wakes: http://pastebin.com/m1eadca4f http://pastebin.com/mfa49caa Just on another note, how do you get rid of the "somemodel" nomenclature? I have SMBIOSResolver installed and my XPS 1330 shows up correctly in System Profiler, but doesn't for the hostname.
irongaijin
Hello all, Recently got tired of fighting Vista, had original tried a dual boot with no luck. So I found iATKOS v4i with 10.5.4 Anyone tried this yet? Twice now I have received the no disk after restart and then the third time the bootloader just decided to give up. If I need to go track down an older version I will but I'd rather not give up on leaping directly to 10.5.4. Any insight would be appreciated!
